He went to every single shop in the diamond district and did an extremely thorough cost analysis of all the options available, so I know for sure Ultimate was a great option from the start. However, what makes Ultimate even better in my mind is how they helped us out when I lost my first engagement ring (oops) and had to get a replacement through insurance. They worked with my fiance to get the PERFECT replacement diamond in the exact same setting, and in fact the new diamond was even bigger and more beautiful because apparently prices went down slightly during covid and our insurance company gave us our original budget to work with. Once we decided on the cut, he showed us several different diamonds to see what resonated with us the most...was it the color, the clarity, the carat, etc. He went a step beyond the basic 4 C's and taught me about depth, girdle, inclusions, feathers, table, etc. I went and did a ton of my own homework and told Billy what I had decided regarding budget, the 4 C's, and all other important factors. Two days later Billy had found three diamonds, all of which fit the bill of what I required in my diamond as well as nice to haves. I picked one of the diamonds and Bill had my setting customized to fit the stone perfectly. He told me he would have the ring ready in 2 weeks, but it was ready in less than 10 days. I didn't know where I was going to put the ring for two weeks before I was going to Aruba to propose and Billy was kind enough to hold the ring for me in his safe.
