Finally heard from the folks at Chronostore. I was told that I received the watch I ordered and a check of all my paperwork revealed that was correct. But still that wasn't the watch displayed on the day I ordered. After arguing for a while I hung up on them in frustration. A few days go by and they call me again. They are going to give me the $100 refund I requested. I was stunned. The money was in my PayPal account within an hour. I am pleasantly shocked. What did they find out? They never said but it's over. This would have a been a 5 star review if it had gone perfect, but they did give me what I asked for and they are still the cheapest. read more

BEWARE - Chronostore sells USED watches as new. I bought a watch from them specified as new & unworn on Amazon. I called to place the order because I needed the watch sized to my wrist. When I received the watch, it was not sized for me, was packaged in a generic "Chronostore" branded box, had no tags, and, as I later discovered, it was missing two links from the bracelet. When confronted with the fact that this was obviously not a new/unworn item, they told me that their website specifies that ALL new watches are display models...as it turns out, that "display model" line was a lie because I later discovered (with the help of my local jeweler) that the watch had been sized for the previous owner and the removed links hadn't been put back in. Chronostore then offered to send me a branded box for the watch, but nothing else - no monetary compensation, etc. Now I have filed a "product not as described" case with PayPal, and they're telling me that because of that, they're no longer available to help me in any way, they wouldn't send me a box, nothing. They told me the only thing I can do is ship the watch back at my own expense if I'm not happy with it. In the end, I paid for a new watch, received an obviously used one that was missing parts, and it's going to end up costing me $40 between return shipping and paying to have the watch sized because they forgot. Just remember - you will get exactly what you pay for with these guys. They're buying used watches, cleaning/polishing them, and selling the nicest ones as "new/unworn display models" for what would be a great price (if the watch was actually new). The only reason they got caught this time because they apparently didn't know how many links were supposed to be in the bracelet of the watch, and I did know...because I happen to already own this exact watch in another color. Don't trust these guys...they're completely dishonest and they're willing to say anything, which is why they've been so successful at misleading their customers for so many years...look at all their good reviews and then ask yourself if these customers would be so happy with the "great deal" they got if they knew they were walking around wearing someone else's old watch that had been polished up and sold to them as a display model. read more

They showed me a couple of watches and when I pointed out that one of the watches was on the website for much less money-- the gentleman I was meeting with stated that that was a mistake and they hadn't updated the website. I purchased a watch for my fiance for his birthday and as a wedding gift that appeared to be fine visually when I bought it but had water damage that we could not see until he physically tried the watch on. I brought it to Veronica's attention right away and she said no problem she would have the watch fixed immediately and did not mention any fees associated. Once I decided to ultimately return the watch because we did not feel comfortable, they said we owed $250. Looking back on this process, I should have known. When I went into initially purchase the watch, Veronica took a good 20+ minutes with the "watch servicer" making sure there was no water damage to it. Obviously, they caused this damage and ultimately accused us of this. Seller emailed that there was a "technical error" that was Amazon's fault and that the watch had already been sold. Seller re-listed for $24,999 (6/12) and took down after I saw and emailed. Chronostore is a horrible retailer. They do not honor advertised prices, and always pulls the bait and switch. They are not a "ROLEX authorized dealer", they are a "grey market" watch seller trying to sell watches above full MSRP. They are marking prices over 40% to gain major profit. All Rolex's may come with box and papers, but they do not come with tags. The tag is what you want to ensure the 5 year manufacturer warranty which they do not provide. Buyer beware. read more

This place is an absolute joke. I called in about a Rolex I was going to buy on their website. The first lady I talked to was clueless. She was happy to take my money, but couldn't even tell me what date was written in on the warranty card, and didn't bother mentioning that two of the links were missing from the bracelet until I asked about it. She didn't know if they still had the missing links or what the service history was, and had to keep checking with her boss. Frustrated, I asked to speak to the boss directly. This individual was arrogant and rude, acted like I was wasting his time, and said that he would include the original links only if I paid an extra fee for each one! So basically I'd be paying the price of a used watch plus the price of two links to replace what they removed! It really is astounding how sleazy some of these gray-market dealers can be. Chronostore compares their prices to the MSRP, ignoring the fact that this is a pre-owned watch that would not be priced comparably to a new one in any case. Their aftermarket warranty is another concern--the first lady I talked to said that the watch came with a one-year chronostore warranty, but had no factory warranty. However, she also claimed that the watch had a 2016 date on the warranty card, which would mean that the factory 5-year warranty was still active, which doesn't even make sense. If the factory warranty is still valid, there's absolutely no need for a concurrent warranty from some no-name reseller. Even if the watch was out of warranty, one year of coverage is pathetic, and the vendor may well be out of business before it expires. With this kind of haughty, rude, and ignorant people running the show, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them out of business in a year or two. Needless to say, I didn't buy anything from them. The whole thing stinks to high heaven, and they obviously didn't care about getting my business. I guess this is one of those stores that prefers ignorant, uneducated consumers who don't know enough to ask questions. Gullible customers are much easier to deal with when all you care about is maximizing profit. read more

I urge you to think twice before you do business with Chronostore. I purchased a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date watch from Chronostore through EBay. The watch was pre-owned. When I received it, I took it to my local jewellers and they advised the watch was in very poor condition with extensive water damage. I contacted Chronostore and was advised that they felt I had worn the watch (which is not correct) and they refused to give me a refund. BEWARE..... Do not do business with this store! We bought a new Baume & Mercier watch from them that cost $2,600 on May 26, 2014. It was sent back to them three times since the watch did not work properly from the beginning. It cost us $170 in shipping costs. Each time they returned it, they said they fixed this or that and now it is working. However, it continued to not work properly. At one time they said they even sent it to a Baume & Mercier repair center but would not give us paperwork. Baume & Mercier guarantees their work for one year. In another email they said they do all their repairs themselves! We got to the point we did not know what to believe. We now have sent the watch to the Baume & Mercier national repair center in Texas at our cost. Chronostore will not pay them to repair it claiming there is nothing wrong with the watch when they sent it back to us for the third time!! It clearly is not working properly. And.... they will not refund our money. I have documentation for all of the issues the watch was having and Chronostore's responses to them. In our conversations and emails with them, they state one thing one time regarding the work that was done, then another time their comments completely refute what they stated previously. These people are not to be trusted. If you have a problem with your merchandise, Chronostore's guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on. BEWARE....BEWARE...BEWARE... February 20, 2016....Got the watch back from the Baume & Mercier National Repair Center. They completely overhauled it at a cost of $475. It finally works perfectly now.
