This was a total blessing after I had spent the larger part of a month trying to get an appointment in at other local body shops. While waiting briefly in the office, the mechanic, the assistant and I had a great conversation and before I knew it -- my car was fixed *perfectly* and I was out of there with time to spare before arriving to work. The people at B&M were so kind and generous with me while they did such fine work on my car. I'm definitely returning (plus their location couldn't be more convenient). Additionally, I appreciated B&M's empathy and unpretentiousness when my car was getting fixed. As a young woman who isn't wildly familiar with car mechanics, I've had so many experiences with other body shops where I am implicitly demeaned or belittled for seeking car repair. B&M heard me share the needs my car had and quickly fixed the problem. :)

Thankfully, an employee offered to assist me in emptying out my car. My driver's door barely opened. The driver side rear door was too close to next vehicle to open. The passenger side was up against a fence. I don't know how the burly man squeezed between the vehicles, opened the trunk, & passed everything to me. He made time for me just a day later (although the rule of thumb here seems to be first in, first served - no appointments). They also drove me home - not everyone does that nowadays. Just a few hours later, they called to tell me what was up and how much it would cost. I can't say they were the cheapest, price-wise, but they were worth every penny. FTR - my car is a piece of crap that's been kept together for about four years now. While a few people have told me it's basically okay to drive, and a couple said one good pothole and it'll break in half, not one mechanic has told me exactly what I need to know about either of those situations. As part of the service with a car new to them, Iezzi checks it out all over - top to bottom. No extra charge for this service, btw. They gave me in plain terms the good and the bad, not sugarcoated, but no doom-saying either. So I know pretty much where I stand with this car for the first time in four years. I scheduled a state inspection a month in advance and took time off work to ensure my vehicle was ready for an upcoming road trip. When I arrived, the shop was closed with nothing but a note on the door. There was no text or call to give me a heads-up. To make matters worse, I had already purchased a Groupon voucher that is now non-refundable. If they had at least texted or called to let me know that plans had changed, I would have had ample time to reschedule the appointment with a different mechanic and not miss my road trip. These guys might be skilled at what they do, but their terrible communication and lack of respect for a customer's time made this one of my worst service experiences ever.

I am satisfied with the work on the car and they even washed and vacuumed it. But, a few things I need to mention: My car was not done on time, and I ended up having to go get it a day late. This was NBD for me, but I could see it being a problem for someone else. Statefarm told me that they would come pick up my car at my house and bring it back when they were done, they said that is just not true and no one really does this (maybe that should be a comment for statefarm, not Pittsburgh Collision). Their parking lot is super tiny and a major pain to get in and out of during rush hour. Overall, I am satisfied, and the issues I had were minor, really they didn't even bother me, but I could see someone else getting bent out of shape about them.

Was told cost would be at a minimum $3,000 and if not done may not pass inspection. Took to another local family owned, reputable garage for 2nd estimate (38th & Penn Ave 15201). The elderly owner looked at the door, went back into the garage, came out with a wooden block, placed it in door hinge, opened/closed door several times, removed block, pulled down in door with his body weight, closed door & it WAS FIXED!!!!!!! He told me "no charge" Lol. I gave him some cash and told him to buy himself a dinner up the Little Italy Days. Needless to say, Ill never go to Pittsburgh Collision for any service.
