My rating of 5 stars is based upon how many days a week my 10 year-old-daughter asks me to take her to Ulta. I'm not exactly the target demographic, but I enjoy spending the quality time with my daughter as she looks at the latest Bubble, Drunk Elephant, Biyoma, or whatever else is trendy these days. I like that there are a lot of testers to try out on my aging skin. There's a lot to see and check out, and employees have always been nice to us here. My only complaint is that I am constantly in trouble with my wife for going to Ulta too often and spending too much money! read more

I went in to the Cedar Park location to have a blow out with gloss. I went in with light brown hair and highlights. All I wanted was a toner to remove brass. My hairstylist said she was going to mix the formula to add after wash. When I got to the chair to blow out the color was black. She looked in the system and apparently mixed a color from 2011. OMG - How in Gods earth are you a "hairdresser" and couldn't see that was not my color. She reached for the manager whom mixed some kind of color remover to strip the color to accomplish what I originally walked in with. After pulling of hair, and the "strip process" my face started to flush and my scalp was hurting. After the 2 1/2 hours of process my hair is black, rose, and other color. It is awful. Not charging is not the resolution. I couldn't stay to do other treatment as my neck hurt and my scalp was so irritated. I am beyond disappointed and I reiterate not charging is not the solution. How much is it going to cost to fix....... Completely furious and disappointed. How do I even go to work like this? Will be reporting to the board and calling a District Manager. read more

Let me preface by saying this isn't my usual Ulta I go to. I was in the area and stopped in for a refill of one of my favorite products and just to browse. Like I said, this isn't the Ulta I usually go to. So, I wasn't sure where everything was. I immediately found what I was looking for (The Ordinary Serum) and started to try and find the Lancôme section. An employee was literally right next to me so naturally, I just asked very politely, "excuse me ma'am, where is y'all's Lancôme counter?" And she literally just looked me up and down and pointed in the direction with a disgusted look on her face while not breaking eye contact. I just figured "okay I can find it in that area no problem." And said "okay thank you!" And as I started walking in the direction she pointed, she asked "do see what I'm pointing at? It's literally right there!" Her tone was so unprofessional and annoyed when I literally asked her a simple question. Then I immediately found the Lancôme counter and went to checkout. When she saw me in checkout she ROLLED HER EYES AND SIGHED. For what??? She also was being very rude to these two young girls that came in for a pickup order. Apparently you need an ID to pick up an order. Completely understandable. I get it. These two girls came in and couldn't be older than 14. The young girls didn't have an ID and the same employee just treated them like dumb girls for not having an ID. I'm sure there are multiple places where it said bring an ID, but good Lord! Have some compassion! The two girls were obviously embarrassed and annoyed since they didn't have an ID. And the employee kept saying with SUCH AN ATTITUDE "it LITERALLY says it on the sign when you walk through the door. Didn't you read?" I was appalled. I couldn't catch her name since her hair was covering her tag. I will be contacting the manager. No customer should be treated like this when asking simple questions and making an honest mistake. They need to fix the line to the check out. No one knows where to go and then the so called line is in the middle of the cosmetic isle that I was trying to shop in but had to technically stand in line to find what I was looking for. Oh and another thing I was in there one night and the store manager was like can I help you find something. Mind you it was like 7:45pm not knowing they closed at 8pm unlike other stores more less close at 9. I said no I'm with my sister and she's shopping. Ok well we are closing soon. Really? I'm always thankful for Kirby Saucedo, who thankfully keeps up with my hair more than I do and introduced me to DevaCurl two years ago. There hasn't been anyone else that has touched my hair since my first hair cut with her. I've been to this location a few times since it's opened. It was alright I really like the one in north Austin the research location. I had bought a tarte shape tape back in June and the color was just way too light for me and I had totally forgot about it until going through and organizing my makeup collection. So I returned to this location last Friday as it was the last weekend for 20% off so I tried to return the concealer and the woman at the register told me I couldn't because it wasn't under my ulta rewards. Which I've never purchased anything from ulta without using my rewards I mean who wouldn't want to earn points? I decided to take advantage of Ulta Platinum perks during my birthday month to get a haircut. I chose the Cedar Park location based on prior reviews. Kirby was my hairdresser and did an outstanding job! I've had haircuts before that look good the day it's cut and styled and then impossible to replicate again. This hasn't been the case. I'm two weeks into this haircut and I love it. I have a troublesome cowlick by my bangs that she was able to tame. She listened to my needs, all while engaging in conversation about a slew of things from teaching, makeup to being vegan. I HIGHLY recommend this location and Kirby. I've been looking for a salon in the Cedar Park/Leander area, since my go-to salon is down in South Austin. I had never had a haircut or color at Ulta, but a Facebook friend posted about her experience here, I saw the positive Yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. I called on Friday, and they got me in the very next morning at 10 a.m. My hair stylist was Morgan, and she did a fabulous job! Not only was she personable and friendly, she truly listened and paid attention to detail. I had an all-over color and a trim and couldn't be happier. Also a bonus, as a first-time customer at the salon, I received 20% off! Would definitely recommend Morgan and the salon. read more

If I could give it more stars I would! I'm a former employee of Ulta and longtime customer but yesterday was my first time going to this location! Morgan, the Urban Decay rep, was freaking fantastically AMAZING!! She helped me find amazing foundation for everyday plus my upcoming wedding! I only planned to buy one item at a time, planning a wedding is draining the fund reserves, but as I'm at the register getting ready to check out I thought otherwise! Morgan was literally having her bag checked at the door so she could leave for the day but without hesitation immediately dropped her bag on the floor and ran to help me find EVERYTHING that was needing! (I've been in desperate need of updating and refilling my makeup bag!!) She was so nice and made me feel so comfortable! I never felt like I was bothering her or that she was trying to rush through helping me. The most Amazing thing to me was she NEVER once pressured me to buy! After dragging her around the makeup isles for at least another 15 mins I finally was done! With makeup, at least! While wandering aimlessly around dropping makeup I picked with Morgan, an employee saw my need and without even asking grabbed a shopping bag and ran it over to me! The store was inviting and had a great selection and esthetic! I could have stayed in there for hours! I could go on and on but I think that should cover it! WORST DAY OF MY LIFE. It was prom day and I arrived early to get my hair and makeup done after a really long morning shift at work. I arrived three hours prior to when I absolutely had to leave for prom and keep in mind, I had already booked this two weeks ago. and they took forever. Not too many complaints about hair, because all I can remember is how awful my makeup experience was. when I went to get my makeup done the stylist slowly walks over to me and I told her I had to leave in two hours, and she just nods her head taking her own sweet time. Then she slowly walks around the store grabbing the things she needed. Even though she knew I was on a time crunch she kept talking to other employees and she even turned to speak to other clients. Then ANOTHER client came in and she said she had to leave to work on that other client, but someone would be with me shortly. (I BOOKED MY APPOINTMENT TWO WEEKS AGO BTW. SO SHOULDNT I HAVE HAD A STYLIST ASSIGNED TO ME ALREADY??) so like fifteen minutes later another lady comes up to me, to finish what the first one had started. And I had to re-explain everything I wanted and show her what kind of makeup I wanted for prom. I also retold her I was really on a time crunch, but then she had another client to get too also! I wanted to cry at this point because I was so stressed out and it was my freaking prom night. she tells me someone else will fix my makeup but it takes like fifteen more minutes until another lady comes and by this point I snap and say "JUST SOMEONE PLEASE DO MY LIPSTICK AND EYELINER AND I WILL LEAVE" and this other lady was not even a stylist. She was just one of the people walking around. i asked them if I could pay while I was getting my makeup done because I really had to leave. This was no doubt the worst day of my whole life, I wanted to cry as I sped home after this awful experience and this place ruined my senior prom. DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE EVER. A lot of my friends already said not to go there, but I suck at makeup so I decided to give them a shot. I will never forget how upsetting this was. I also work as a server at a restaurant so I always try not to be rude to employees because I get how customers can be sometimes, but this was my prom night and every girl deserves to have that special getting ready moment. I wasn't asking for much I just needed my makeup done. Instead I had four different people doing it and later I went home to fix it. Was not even offered a discount after all of this.
