Most recently I stopped in on Wednesday Dec 17th to get an order from an online purchase my wife made about a week prior. They let you take about a week yo come pickup items you order online giving you plenty of flexibility with your schedule on when you can stop in, which is nice. This place has tons of hair care products, makeup, perfumes too. They're going to sell products here you can't buy at Target or WalMart. The employees are extremely knowledgeable and helpful with you finding what you need. I know I'll get the help I need when I stop in here for a visit. read more

Whoever their male employee is that they have working there seriously needs to be retrained. I wish I knew his name because I would file a complaint against him but he has absolutely NO customer service skills whatsoever. Honestly, many of the employees there aren't all that friendly or helpful. I hate visiting this location. To make matters worse, I tried to book a hair service for my child and they randomly canceled an appointment that I had already rescheduled. Of course I got their rude male associate so he was not empathetic. I probably will never go back to this location again. Sidenote: I've worked for ulta in the past so I remember being trained to always greet customers and offer assistance to EVERYONE. Which is typical customer service practice. If it involves makeup and beauty, and the workers aren't on my back, then it deserves all the stars. Location is always stocked, people are friendly and location is great. I guess only complaint would be to have the tester products like cotton swabs, etc. full stocked. read more

Excellent Customer Service! I was greeted by Cynthia, who helped me locate the product I was looking for. Cynthia, when I checked out, made sure that I was aware my points were going to expire since I am no longer a diamond member. I could of lost $56.00 worth of points. Also, I purchased the Cecred mask, and she gave me a candle that was with the purchase last of two left. I was so happy, and she made my day. I've been here many times, and it's always a great experience. It's one of my happy places. A very friendly and attentive employee, Selena, made sure I found everything I wanted and genuinely cared about the customers. The cashier, Cynthia, was also friendly and funny. The last time I was here with my sis and Mom, I think it might have been the same cashier laughing and joking with us. Visited 3/27 w/ my mom and had the worst interaction with the male associate with butterfly neck tattoos. He refused to check the back for stalk they HAD when he was asked by both of us for different products. When we are at the cash register, he approaches and we say "that wasn't nice" and he cut us off, said "UGH" with a sassy head turn, and walked away mid sentence. He ignored us in front of all his coworkers and customers, when the store would have lost out on a sale because HE didn't want to check in the back for product they had, he had a terrible attitude and is undeserving of this position. read more

Went to get a blowout with the girl Kiran. My appointment was at 4pm, I waited 30 minutes for her to get started. I had asked her a simple question nicely before and I overheard her tell her co workers that im complaining? I thought it was kinda weird. She did not shampoo my hair well and did it for 20 seconds my hair didn't feel clean. During the blowout she did not completely dry my hair! You can hear the curling iron making sizzling sounds I was shocked. She was in such a rush there was a other lady waiting for her and had her wait another 30 minutes till she finished my hair. I visited 1/29/2026 at 2:36. I have an abundance of points I wanted to use. Not one employee spoke to me until I was heading to the line, old signs from 21 days of beauty are up towards the back skincare section & the cherry on top was I patiently stood in line with my bag full of items & the employee let a lady cut in front of me. I politely asked "excuse me does the line start over here or on the other end" she said "Over there you're in the right spot" & proceeded to check the other lady out. I waited but realized both of them looked directly at me & made a decision to be unfair. I left my bag at the front & left. I won't be back to this location. If your employees cannot politely ask a guest to wait their turn or say "Hi this lady is actually next in line" they shouldn't be working there. It's common courtesy to make matters worse, I worked for Ulta in San Diego Mission Valley area. So I'm fully aware a guest should never be treated this way & you are to treat every guest with respect. read more

I went to go to ulta beauty salon, mind you im a stylist myself. I just wanted to get a blow out real Quick and not do one on myself for once. Tell me why i had a stylist named taylor and she was literally talking smack about other employees and that doesn't sit with me Natasha checked me in and i really wish i got her instead she was happy smiling and just seemed like a breath of fresh air. WOW!! I was checking out with a cashier by the name of Cierra at the Naglee location. She inadvertently scanned the QR code rather than the bar code on one of the products. No big deal. They were right next to each other so I can see how it would have happened. However....She had to call the manager to get an override to continue the transaction. The manager comes up and does the damn thing and while she is talking to the cashier about the placement of the codes she says "Yah, some stupid boy did it that way." My response was shock and offended. I said " Why does it have to be a man that did it?". She back peddled and stammered out "Well it was the product placement team then." I finished my transaction and said to the cashier that I am tired of men being dunked on all the time. The problem is not men. The problem is feminist women. Before you come at me and call me a racist, which I am I guess, This not the first time I have heard this at this store out of the multitude of managers that they seen to cycle throughs mouth. This time is different. I am a conservative woman. About as far as one can get from a feminist and racist. This time I went back to the store and made the manager read their mission statement which is posted on the doors out loud to me. To sum it up it says safe environment blah blah blah everyone to feel welcome blah blah blah hate has no home here blah blah blah etc... I asked her if what she said about men was part of the mission that ULTA is embarking on? I told her I am a conservative and I was offended. She leaned close to me and whispered, ostensibly to hide her obvious shame, that she too was a conservative.My response was no you are not or you would not have said that about men. I reminded her that the company is owned by men and they have products that were created by men all over in the store. If it was not for men she would not have that job. I told her she was offensive and that she owed the young lady cashier an apology and she should be more careful about what she says. I also told her I was going to yelp them and contact corporate. Ok, I love Ulta. The coupons and reward points can really add up. Their brand of products are pretty decent quality and go on sale a lot. The salon is also great - but make sure to make an appointment. When I've tried to walk-in they usually don't have space. read more

Since the pandemic I stopped wearing foundation as I always wore my mask anyways and my masks would get caked with foundation. I'd wear tinted mineral sunscreen, at best. I felt like it was time to get a real foundation for those special ocassions when I want to wear makeup. I came in to return a $45 foundation I'd ordered online as it wasn't my proper shade. I figured while I was there, I'd try to find my correct shade in the same brand. Well, I couldn't find it (bc I didn't see the brand continued on the other side of the shelf) and began to make my way to the counter to return my online item. But then I was like lemme check again and circled the whole shelf and crouched down. That's when Chris approached me to ask if I needed help. He was so helpful and friendly. Even though he's a skin care specialist, he helped match me, he was patient and did a great job! I was sooo happy and it didn't feel like a wasted trip. She takes the time to explain the process and has achieved my dream look I been wanting for my hair. She does such a great job I'm having her do my daughter's hair with highlights for her birthday. I like Ulta's bright vibe and open floor compared to other makeup stores. The Tracy Ulta seems to be cleaner and better organized than the Stockton location. Is always weirdly difficult to find an employee to help. Even when I went in on a Monday morning, and I was one of the only customers, it was a goose chase trying to get a shade match. Eventually I just gave up. I also don't understand why some items are more expensive at Ulta? The same sugar scrub costs $10.50 at Ulta vs. $7.99 at Target. read more

Shoppers with Ulta has always been a hit or miss when it comes to service. There has been a lot of variances across locations. I was in town for a wedding and decided to stop in and grab some makeup. Selena color matched me with some foundations and concealer. She did an OUTSTANDING job! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely attentive. She's an asset to their business. She was also very patient and consultative which is very rare these days in retail. Also, the gentleman who assisted me at the register when I was checking out was very friendly and helpful too. I'd highly recommend asking for Selena if you come in and have product questions. You won't be sorry! read more

Don't get your hair done here. I paid $300 for a balayage that was not even a real balayage and completely half assed. I regret not walking out when she said the price. But I had already waited two weeks for my appt and had an event later that night. My service provider was on the phone during a large portion of my appointment and I could sense she didn't want to do my hair. When I spoke up about my hair not being balayaged, she applied the color and when she was finished, she walked away and threw her supplies into the sink. The chairs in the shampoo area are also very uncomfortable and aren't meant to be sat in for more than 2 minutes. If you're going to spend $300, I recommend finding a stylist who can actually balayage. My hair cut is also uneven and not layers like I asked it to be. The service providers also talk shit about each other in front of guests. The lack of professionalism is bewildering. I understand that this is an Ulta salon, but you're still paying a hefty price to have services preformed. I enjoy shopping at ulta and will be back for products but will not be returning for any hair services. read more

Had my haircut at the Tracy,Ca location. I asked for a stacked bob haircut. I was so angry. My hair is completly chopped up one side on side is cut completly different. I can not even style my hair. I had to pay 60 dollar for this horrible cut. I tried to avoid Supercuts to have a better cut I guess that didn't work. Ulta should make sure their Stylists know how to cut. read more

Ulta customer service is a pathetic joke. I was charged $361.30 with no proof of purchase in their system so no receipt could be printed and I couldn't get the stuff I purchased! Customer service made me go in circles and in spite of numerous calls, providing credit card statement pdf, more of payment and last 4 digits of the card as they had asked in order to refund, the answer was that escalation team is asking for a receipt. This was communicated via email the very first day after calling and also reinforced by the store manager. Finally, with no hope of getting my refund from Ulta I filed a dispute through my bank. Please be cautious if their system is slow. Don't swipe your card or make the payment. Ask them to try another system. I'm regretting it big time, however, would like to prevent anyone else having to go through the hassle that I had to. read more

I have setup an appointment with the so called Elite stylist Ashley for getting highlights done for my black hair. At the time of setting up the appointment she sounded as if she was the greatest hair dresser and even through out doing the highlights but her work is an absolute mess. She did bleach and tone my hair and the front pieces were orange and din't lift the bleach at all. So i asked her to fix and she told me come the next day and she would fix my hair for free by lightening the front pieces. When i went the next day she put up a lame story that she would only tone my hair dark for free not lighten the front piece as her manager told her to charge for lightening front piece and use only 10 foils. I agreed for paying and lightening it hoping to get better with the front piece. But after lightening she over toned my hair which made my hair way more orange not only in the front but at the back too. I look like a joke. It looks terrible. I am depressed and hurted to the core for the work she did on my hair. I have paid 320$+142$ extra for this awful look. BEWARE when considering this place for getting your hair colored. I regret and never recommend any one to get their hair done here. read more

I went in there today as a new resident of Tracy to pick up a few things& had never been to this Ulta. Mind you i had just woken up no makeup no nothing & looked like straight crap but Amaya walked over &asked if i needed any help. (I mention the no makeup bc some makeup counters or stores are assholes when you dont walk in with a full face or act like you dont know anything about anything) Im thankful she asked bc I have my eyes set on a perfume I'll be coming back for later but I was looking at the wrong one the whole time. lmao i would have came back for the wrong one & been mad. She also gave me 2-3 other recommendations. She actually seemed interested in helping me not just bc its her job. Later i ventured off on my own but saw her talking to 2 other customers & with just the best customer service skills. The associates here can be helpful but most of the time you're on your own. I downloaded the app since that lets you find better deals than the store sometimes. I've called with questions several times and they put you on hold for a long time so that way you get tired of holding and just hang up. I would probably shop at Sephora if we had one in Tracy. read more
