    Should be ZERO stars! I do NOT recommend getting any hair…read moreservices done at Shalom Beauty Supply, especially from Grace. My 12-year-old daughter wanted a silk press and paid for it with her own birthday money. Being new to the area, I didn't know any salons that specialize in biracial hair, but I noticed the beauty supply store had a salon in the back. I decided to give it a try. Grace, the stylist, said she could do my daughter's hair the following day at 1 pm for $85. When we arrived, she didn't wash my daughter's hair, but instead started blow-drying it with no care, roughly tugging on her head. When she grabbed the hot comb, I asked if she used heat protectant. Grace responded condescendingly in a thick Nigerian accent, saying, "I'm trying to see how her hair will do. I know how to do my job." At this point, I should've left, but I stayed. She applied icFantasia Hair Polisher Heat Protectant, a product easily found at Walmart, and then started flat-ironing my daughter's hair, stopping multiple times to help customers who walked into the beauty supply store. The entire process was rushed, and it was the quickest silk press I've ever seen--I'm sure she used a high heat setting. After flat-ironing, Grace "trimmed" my daughter's hair in a choppy and uneven way, causing significant damage. The next day, my daughter's aunt was horrified by how her hair looked. We decided to return to talk with Grace, but we were told she was on vacation until Tuesday. A gentleman named Martins was surprised at how poorly my daughter's hair turned out and even commented that it looked uneven. He gave us some hair oil, but we weren't satisfied. When my sister-in-law called to speak with Grace on Tuesday, Grace was rude and hung up. I then called to explain the damage done to my daughter's hair, and Grace was equally rude, claiming I wasn't telling the truth. She said she'd be there until 4 pm, so my daughter and I came in. We were met with more rudeness and berating from Grace. She refused to acknowledge the damage and didn't offer any resolution. When I mentioned that Martins also agreed the work wasn't professional, Grace called someone on the phone and said, "Where's Martins? The people are here." I asked for a refund so we could take my daughter elsewhere for a deep conditioning treatment to repair the damage. Grace and the woman on the phone both yelled at me, saying they wouldn't give any money back because the money was for "her time and product." This was a terrible experience. Grace used cheap products from Walmart and Dollar Tree, and the whole ordeal was unprofessional and frustrating. I would highly discourage anyone from getting services at this beauty supply store, and I won't be returning for anything, including the overpriced, low-quality products they sell.

I've never had this issue before, so I contacted corporate to report the issue and explained that while I had opened and tested the product, it was not functioning properly. I was specifically advised to return to the store and assured that the return would be handled without issue. When I returned to the store, the store manager inspected the shears, noticed a hair in them, and refused the return solely because they had been used. I explained multiple times that the product was defective and had only been tested to confirm the issue. Despite this, my concern was dismissed, and I was treated with skepticism rather than professionalism. I was then told she would contact her manager and follow up with me. It has now been over two weeks, and I have received no follow-up whatsoever. This lack of response is unacceptable. Failing to return a customer's call especially after committing to do so demonstrates a clear disregard for customer concerns and a lack of accountability at the store level. The failure to resolve the issue in a timely manner, I was made to feel as though I was being dishonest about a defective product(That I still needed, and ending up purchasing from another store) This is not only unprofessional but also unacceptable treatment of a paying customer. Although I ultimately had to resolve this matter through other means, it was not due to any assistance from your store or its management.

    In the past this location had some very shady employees. The last few years the manager has put…read moretogether an overall great team. There are a few that seem rude but if you had to deal with some of the people I've seen in the store complaining about things the staff can't control I would be a bit on edge too. Just look at a comment below where the person thinks saying they don't carry products for her hair type is an ignorant comment. First they do carry all varieties and second there is nothing wrong with saying you don't have something for the hair type. Maybe the employee knew they didn't have the spray. Personally I think all Sally stores need an over haul but they work with the space well. The popular products are hard to get as stock is often very low. That is really the only downfall. Keep in mind most are not trained cosmetologist so you need to either know your stuff or do your own research. They can help because they pick up things the longer they work in the environment but you can't blame them. They have a very good return policy.

But at this point it's unfortunate that I'm stuck with a $200 product that I cannot use.
