I've gone to Ulta for years and have never had a bad experience until this appointment. The stylist was very kind, and my silk press turned out nicely. Unfortunately, the haircut itself was extremely disappointing. I have curly hair, and the layers were not blended properly at all. The cut created a harsh "shelf" effect, with very obvious disconnected layers that make it difficult to wear my hair naturally curly now. I understand mistakes happen, and I do appreciate the stylist's professionalism and kindness, but textured/curly hair requires experience and proper blending techniques. They couldn't find the appointment and the lady was extremely rude, she made it seem like it was my fault, I asked to speak with a manger but she was even worse! Came inside for an online pickup. It didn't seem busy since there was only 1 cashier. One person was checking out, and one person was in line. I looked around mainly in that aisle with the line for checkout. The store looked like it was a mess. Lots of empty areas on the shelves. I wonder if that's due to staffing or inventory issues. Tons of items all over the place as well. I know it's probably not their fault and due to the people shopping. It was a pretty quick trip. I'm trying not to shop unless I need anything. When I got to the front, he took me closer to the door. He checked my email with the barcode and checked my ID. Before I left, he made me open the package (sealed in a bag with a sticker) to make sure it was the correct item. Inside the bag was my item, but the plastic on the box was barely holding on, so one of the items inside was not in place. Online pickups have been so easy these days. I've been to multiple beauty stores, including other locations of the same chain, and none of them treated me with the attentiveness and honesty that Anthony did.
