I have been walking by this store for years and years not really knowing what it was. I bought some items online from Bluemercury and had to return one of them. Their customer service dept said to go to the CDM Plaza store to return it. Unbeknownst to me, there is a store in Corona del Mar. Anyway, I went in and returned the item and ended up buying lots of other items with the help of the store manager, Yolanda Lopez. She was fantastic at suggesting things I would appreciate and giving me her honest opinion. I couldn't be happier with her service and want to give her the recognition she deserves for such outstanding service. I have been shopping at Bloomingdales etc for all my makeup needs. Do not buy from Bluemercury. I purchased Supergoop sunscreen and it arrived with an expiration date within 5 months. I contacted customer service and they said they're not able to guarantee expiration dates, despite Supergoop saying it's usually 2 years. I like to stop in for a little spritzer of Jo Malone and to test out products I have been interested in. The last time I was there, I did an almost full walk-through not realizing just how many products they carried -- from skin, to hair, to nails. Bluemercury is a mini sized Sephora and Ulta type cosmetic store, the brands they carry are somewhat unique that's why I shop here sometime. This is also one of my favorite stores at The Point in El Segundo, the layout is very open and convenient. There are a lot of testers to try and decide on which ones are good for my skin tone and texture. They don't carry brands like Dior and Chanel that I usually get from Sephora or department store counters. But they do have nice brands that I use like M-61, Kiehl's and Darphin, Clarins even La mer. I suggest M-61 for skin breakout problems, the instant peel mask is amazing too. Kiehl's has just about everything that's so gentle on my sensitive skin. Those brands are more affordable too. La Mer is the best for dry and aging skin but much more expensive since it's mostly anti-aging skincare. Although the cosmetic selections are much smaller here but it's still a very nice store to get what I need. Don't hesitate to ask for help from the beauty consultants if you should have any questions! read more

The eye cream that I bought here turned out to be laden with chemicals, as are most of their products. I think they prey on the unsuspecting customers that either don't care or don't know that chemicals are bad for them. I prefer to shop at places that thoughtfully curate their products with a "natural" sensibility aka stores that put a consumer's health at the forefront. This place has some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a so-called Luxury skincare store. First things first, when a customer walks in, NOBODY greets them. I've noticed this with other customers, not just myself. I walked in today and this brunette employee in the makeup section literally looked up at me and then looked away with NO "Hi" "How are you" "How can I help you". Ignored me and just went back to acting like she was busy. In the last 5 times I've attempted to shop here, when I finally do ask for help, they act like it's a chore to help me. Why work in customer service if you hate people? I just don't understand. Most of the testers are all out and empty, so if you want to try something in store, good luck. I plan on doing all my Blue Mercury shopping online since I REFUSE to give any of my money to this store and its poor excuse for customer service. The staff all need to be retrained on how to deal with customers especially when selling such high end products. read more

I would like to give this NO stars because I brought my purchase to the "cashier" and she informed me they did not accept cash! Seems unamerican to me. She had no suggestions as to how I could use my cash to make my purchase. I don't think anyone should shop somewhere they do not have a cash option. This makeup and mini spa is welcoming and clean the moment you walk thru the doors. The downside, employees are selling "per" vendor. Meaning, each employee may or may not be employed by Blue M. rather, by individual make up line. So you know the sales person is solely selling for "their" brand, and not truly assisting the customer for true needs. My experience was just that. Unpleasant and after leaving the store, I knew I would need to return and do just that, returns! I do not recommend. The prices are much higher and the service is beyond too pushy and less than concerned or interested in the consumers needs. read more

Let me start off by saying I take hair care very seriously since I am constantly dying it. With that being said I was using a shampoo that was leaving my hair excessively oily the last few times I used it, I came in to this location and explained my concerns to Jackie. She recommended the Virtue shampoo and conditioner and gave me a few samples to try out. I am obsessed with how beautiful my hair looks and how healthy it feels as well. Nice place, I didn't know it was owned by Macy's. Although the lines carried are aligned with what Macy's offers. So-There's way way too many people working here! There was 1-2 customers plus me, so I felt like everyone asked to help me which was 5 people in the span of 4 minutes. And then it feels like they're all stalking you. This was very overwhelming and it's not so big that they couldn't see each other asking me. They need to establish busy hours & plan staff accordingly. read more

I can never get service when I am at this bluemercury, even pre-pandemic. Yesterday I went in to purchase the Chantecaille biolift skincare products after much deliberation about spending over $600 for the two products and having friends tell me how good the products are. I had to wait a considerable amount of time and no one acknowledged I was even present in the store. When a sales rep became available she went to someone who came in after me. I walked out. This is not the first time I've walked out of that store even though I went in to purchase product due to poor customer service. I must be insane since I keep doing the same thing, going to that store, and expecting a different outcome. read more

I received a gift certificate for my birthday to Bluemercury and I was excited to try it as I had not heard of it before. I went to the El Segundo location and had Mich as my Esthetician. She was amazing and really tailored the facial to exactly what my skin needed. It was an awesome facial at a great value. Happiest place on earth! I have been coming here for the past few months for make up and facials. Facials with Amina, an angel! How lucky am I to have the opportunity to have her work her magic! First of all she is the nicest person ever, then to top it off she is very highly qualified. She studied in London and as I learned, the education is around 6 years! So my face, it was eh ,so so ,blah. I work and travel often so I'm always tired and felt my skin was taking a toll. Not to mention I'm getting to the age where I need to start caring about my skin. It can go south real quick! So I make an appointment to have a facial, I think it was a special at the time. Amina met me with a smile and she knew I had some target areas. My concern, my eyes looking tired but nah, really my skin was breaking out and uneven. My first experience was very relaxing and educational. I left with a glow and super soft skin! Ever since , I have been seeing Amina on a regular basis. Thank goodness for this treat, I never realized how important it is have regular facials. It's more like a necessity. I buy most of my skin care at BlueMercury and have shopped there for several years. I had a facial at this location in March and didn't have a great experience. I decided to go back and requested a different aesthetician, Amina. She was very experienced (20+ years) and gave me the best facial I have ever had! I was dealing with a random breakout and she really took her time to customize the facial for my skin. She used several different treatments including a peel, extraction, lymphatic massage and aromatherapy. I'm writing this the day after my facial and my skin looks amazing - radiant and clear. She gave me samples of products to help with my breakout and when I was checking out the manager also gave me more samples. The staff was warm, helpful and respectful. I am so thankful I went back for a facial. I will return to Amina and cannot recommend her enough! read more

I stopped by the store intending to pick up an eyebrow pencil when the young lady selling Hourglass products offered to show me how well the product worked. She redid my eyebrows, taking the time to show me how to determine where they should begin, end and arch. She was better than an Instagram video! I really appreciated the instruction. read more

I was a bit nervous because I didn't know what to expect, but she put my at ease and explained all the products she was using on my face each step of the way. I had an AMAZING facial today with Amina. She was attentive to my concerns and thorough with my skin. As we talked through some of the issues I've been having, she gave me a number of ideas for how to adjust my current home routine, but wasn't aggressively trying to get me to make further purchases (I hate when spas do that!). She gave me a few samples of products she thought I would like and left me with glowing skin. I will DEFINITELY go back!! PS. The remaining staff at the store were also wonderful.
