I was in browsing and was color matched by the kindest person for Jane Iredale . I enjoyed the experience and will be back, she color matched my skin and knew exactly what to use on my dry skin read more

This is my fave local beauty supply. The associates are friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about helping you. They will spend lots of time listening to you to give you bespoke recommendations. Planet Beauty of Manhattan Beach is part salon, part apothecary, and of course, part beauty supply. They stock only vetted, high-end and quality brands that I know I can trust. The design and layout of the store is cute and well-appointed, which appeals to my girlie nature! The prices can be a bit high, however, they put out 20-25% off coupons nearly every weekend if you sign up for their email. They have also been willing to price-match with Amazon as long as it can be proven the brand is vetted "luxury." I don't mind that because there is a *ton* of knock-off beauty products on Amazon--the cheap comes out expensive, my friends! If you're unsure, just ask--they're really friendly about it! I also use their convenient app to browse and shop on the go and pick-up in store for free! So helpful for a mama boss like moi! Enjoy the delightful browsing and shopping here, ladies! read more

I recently shopped at Planet Beauty for the first time and had an excellent experience. I went specifically for Jane Iredale cosmetics (I'm a big fan) and the two gals working were helpful, friendly, and attentive. I recently lost my makeup bag and needed a bunch of new stuff. They helped me pick out shades and try them on. If you're overwhelmed by Sephora, check out this local, boutique style establishment. And definitely go if you want Jane Iredale products. They had a promotion going on and I earned a generous coupon to use in December. Can't wait to go back get a few more things. *Update- they were out of two items I wanted during my initial trip to the shop, but the gal helping me said she'd call when they arrive. Not only did she follow up, she placed the items on hold for me and kept them held until I could get back to the store, which due to holiday travel was almost two weeks! Who does that?! Incredible customer service. When I returned to pick up my items and shop for a few more things, the gals working helped me narrow down what I needed by taking the time to listen to my concerns and made appropriate recommendations. They helped me pick out hair products and streamline my makeup brush collection by teaching me how to use what I already had, so I wouldn't buy redundant items. I left with exactly what I needed, plus I got a big discount for a holiday promotion they had going. This is such a great shop! read more

I love the products and the friendly and helpful staff at Planet Beauty. The staff is helpful without being pushy and always give samples and offers to their customers. They carry Epicurean, which is one of the brands that I favor, and many there quality beauty supply products. Planet Beauty os now my go-to. read more

We came in to Planet Beauty on Saturday because my daughter wanted to bleach a small section of her hair. We were very warmly greeted at the door, and eager to offer assistance-- by the time we were done, we had absolutely everything we needed, along with an educational lesson on the various levels of developers and how to use the products we purchased - precisely down to how much product to mix with how much developer. All at very reasonable prices. And we walked away with some samples too. Wonderful shop. Would very highly recommend! read more

They have a REALLY good selection. They carry high end brands that Sephora and Ulta dont. I wish more people knew. I get my Elta MD sunscreen here as well as candles. Excellent options for skincare and hair care. read more

Love this location!!!! They have alot of selections for our beauty essentials. I have been coming here for over 7years and have been pleased with what I get. The ladies there are awesome, very sweet and friendly when i came in, especially Tiffany shes been just amazing she goes above and beyond for the customers. She's been my go to girl when I come in, helps me understand the new products I get. This place is definitely better than sephora and ulta! read more

Consistently professional, helpful and always new products to learn about. Outstanding help from Tiffany on Saturday, February 10, 2018. They were running a BOGO Special which was so appreciated as well. I received upon request a new primer sample by Smash Box to see how my skin would respond. I prefer a tiny sample first before I invest in an expensive product and find I have to return it. Regardless, I loved the new Smash Box Primer in a glass bottle pump that has hyaluronic acid in it. My skin has more moisture in it with this Smash Box primer than before with the previous primer I was using. What I really admire about Tiffany is that she can handle a lot of customers very well and gives her undivided attention to each one of us. She knows I think she is stellar so will confirm once again here for 2018 review. Thanks, Tiffany and keep up the hard work and great customer service and knowledge you know on all those hundreds of products. You really are a role model for the product knowledge you possess. You knew more about Smashbox than the counter managers who rep only that line in a major department store! Woohoo. Love everyone at this store but Tiffany was the person I was interacting with on this early morning. read more

This place is night and day from the typical beauty store like Sephora or Ulta. They greet you warmly as you come in and give you individual attention (if you want it). They are very knowledgeable about the products, even offer recommendations or substitutions. I came here with a Groupon and now I'm hooked. Great customer service has sadly been lost in many business but not Planet Beauty. Better than ever. Thank you for restoring my faith in retail. A+ read more

They don't allow returns. Store credit only but they don't tell you this when you check out. They also sold me some skin Care but after the purchase told me it's been discontinued. read more

I love Planet Beauty. they are Indeed very helpful for product info. HOWEVER, DO NOT get your hair done there. Audrey did a TERRIBLE job. I asked her to just cover the new grey growth and please, do not cover my highlights. Guess what....my highlight are covered!! my roots are totally dark. It is just horrible.... I am so upset..... she didn't even blow dry my hair!!!!! she said I didn't ask for it. it's almost hilarious when you think about it. you get your hair done but she won't dry it unless you ask for it. AND....bring cash because she doesn't take credit or debit card. I guess she doesn't want to report the income. All together an absolute disaster. read more

I absolutely love Tiff, Bailee, Joanna and all the ladies in this location! I walk in and I'm greeted by my name and with the warmest of smiles (even through a mask). The ladies always make sure I don't leave until I have an understanding of the products I'm buying. Their recommendations are always on point. I just love them . read more

The girls here are so great and they always have the best recommendations. I am no beauty guru, but I know I can trust them to pick out the latest and greatest for my skin and hair products. They text me when they are having a sale on my favorite brands and even ship me products when I am out of town at no additional cost. Joanna, Tiff and Bailey are rockstars and the owners are so lucky to have them on their team. read more

Shopping here was one of the only times I've felt relaxed while shopping. Scarlet the store clerk was super nice and helpful. She did not make me feel pressured to buy anything and did not repeatedly keep asking me if I needed help. I notice with smaller shops (sometimes with bigger shops Too) employees will keep asking to help you so many times It gets uncomfortable and I end up leaving. With Scarlet I felt so welcome because she let me look around, test products and do my thing. When I had questions, she was always there to answer and would periodically check in to make sure I was doing good. Upon waking into the store, i was not planning on buying anything but I had such a great experience I had to buy something. I ended up buying 2 LimeCrime products! read more

Tiffany was so helpful! I was in the store for 2 hours browsing taking forever to make up my mind. While I was there Tiffany was constantly busy, helping each customer that came in the store and customers calling on the phone. I was impressed because she was the only employee in the store, but she managed to help each customer and gave genuine product knowledge. She checked in on me several times making sure not to neglect me just because she had a constant flow of customers in the store. At times I could see she was busy but she still politely acknowledged me and updated me on her availability. Which was so considerate and made me feel valued! During the covid pandemic shopping has not been enjoyable, but not today! Tiffany made it a great experience and Im so happy with my purchases! I'll definitely be back to shop at this location. read more

Planet Beauty is my go-to place for all products. I typically go in to buy the one thing I am looking for only to find several more items of interest. Tiffany, Joanna and all the ladies there are so helpful and they really know their products and work with their clients to select the best item for them personally. With Covid still raging, it is comforting to know that this Planet Beauty is taking all apppropriate measures to keep themselves and customers safe.....they are simply the best! read more

I came here for in search for some curly-hair products. As soon as I entered, Tiffany greeted me and asked if she could assist in any way. She helped me find their most popular curly-hair brands + products; and spent a lot of time explaining similarities, differences, and finding the perfect combo for my hair. I felt so comfortable there, was totally able to ask a ton of questions, and got all my answers from her! It's different from experiences I've had at larger chain beauty supply stores. Usually I just roam around these other beauty stores and pick up products based off the cutest packaging, and don't get customer support. The staff is so knowledgeable, friendly, and available. I'll totally be returning here. They have soooo much beauty stuff!! Check it out and the pics I posted. Thank you again, Tiffany for all of your help!! read more

Called and talked to Bailee - asked for a face mask that I used to get there a long time ago. Sounds like it's discontinued but bailee called me back and had taken the time to find the product online and some others I could try that they didn't even sell. So incredibly helpful considering I looked myself and I wasn't able to find anything similar. Great customer service, it was really appreciated. many thanks!! read more

Tiffany at Planet Beauty is simply amazing. She knows every single product like the back of her hand. When I walk in to get shampoo, I walk out with 5 other things because she gives the best suggestions. Last week, I brought my daughter in and she did her makeup. She spent over an hour with us and we learned so much. Tiffany is patient, kind, and so knowledgeable! read more

This review is for the hairstylist, Audrey, at planet beauty. I did not have a good experience. I made an appointment for 11 and when I got there another client wanted to drop in and get a hair cut. Instead of having her come back after I was done, Audrey decided she was going to do both of us at the same time. So she colored my hair, then the other lady, then cut my hair and then the other lady, then blow dried my hair. So essentially it took almost twice the time in the salon because I had to wait while she was working on the other lady. I was there until 2:30... 3.5 hours! When I was getting my haircut I asked her if I should cut my bangs. She was like "mm hmm" and then cut them. Afterwards she made a big deal about how I would look so much better if I didn't have bangs. It seemed so unprofessional and it made me feel self conscious about my current look. Overall, she did a meh job on my hair, I've definitely had better hair cuts. It was on the high end as far as price. I would say her service was terrible and she was unprofessional, that is why I won't be returning. read more

First time coming to this Planet Beauty location and have mixed feelings. The first lady that helped me was horrible. I walk up to her at the make-up counter and she is so busy applying make-up from one of the "Testers" that she doesn't even notice me. I had to say "Hi" three times before she even realized I was talking to her and apologies and said she thought I was talking to someone on the phone. Umm... no... you would have realized I wasn't on the phone if you weren't so busy putting on make-up when you should be working and helping customers. Anyways.. so... now that I have her full attention, I ask her some questions and she shows me a few things. But in the middle of her "helping" me, she suddenly walks away to the front desk/cash register and never comes back. I thought she was just helping someone for a moment, but then she disappears to the back or something. So I'm sort of standing around, not knowing what to do... waiting for someone to help me. I thought about leaving, but I had to use my 50% Groupon. Finally, after a few minutes, I see another lady (the assistant manager) and I ask her if she can help me. She was actually really sweet and really helpful. She took her time trying to help me find the right products and also gave me some helpful recommendations and beauty tips. I will not be back to this location. I think Planet Beauty is a fine if you already know what you want, otherwise you are far better off going to Sephora where the associates there are so helpful, so friendly and so knowledgeable. read more

Planet Beauty is my go to local place for all cosmetics and skin care! I've been seeing Tiffany in the Manhattan Beach store for years, and she's THE BEST! She always give me a heads up to tell me when sales are approaching, and will make sure all of my items are in stock! For Mothers Day weekend, my friend spent time with Tiffany picking out perfect "mom day" items to pamper us all day! I never buy online, because visiting the store is fun and I always find a new great product to try! Go check it out! read more

I love shopping at Planet Beauty!! I have been coming here for years now, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff and the store's product selection. I'm super indecisive and clueless when it comes to skincare, haircare, and makeup, but Tiffany makes shopping at Planet Beauty a smooth process. She always takes the time to give me personalized product recommendations. She also walks through any issues I may be having with the products I use and is quick to offer suggestions. Tiff makes shopping a fun experience- which isn't something I can say about most beauty supply stores. If you are looking for great customer service and a fun, warm atmosphere to shop in, make sure you stop by Planet Beauty!! read more

The prices are ridiculous. $68 for a bottle of conditioner that I can get for $50 at other salons and places. I love Colorproof and it's only found at limited places but it's not fair to hike up prices and offer "specials" to make it seem like it's a deal. I found this conditioner online for $49 plus $10 off my first purchase. Maybe this is why store fronts are failing, online shopping is easier and cheaper for consumers and it is also less overhead for stores so they can offer better prices. I'm sure Manhattan beach store front is expensive and it reflects in the pricing. read more

I went into this store today to check it out. I decided since it was close to my gym I would stop by before I went to work out. Apparently going into this store in gym clothes renders you unacceptable for service. I was in the store for probably 10 minutes.... I clearly needed assistance because nothing had prices on it, but the two girls working were apparently far too busy with the zero other customers to assist me. I had a living social coupon I needed to use so I bought something with it just so I would never have to go back to this store ever again. Such horrible service. read more

So....when did this store start closing for lunch? I came here hoping to make a quick purchase for a couple of items only to find it was closed for a half and hour lunch break. Now, I am all about employees getting their breaks. Really, I am. But closing the store and putting up a sign tells me a couple of things that I really don't want to know: You (Planet Beauty) do not have enough employees on staff and there is a reason you do not enough employees on staff. There was one woman/customer willing to wait the entire half and hour but a few of us just left. I ended up going to a competitor in Redondo Beach which was having a promotion so in actuality, I fared better. Don't know if I will be back here again. I have been a customer to this location for years but I really don't want to waste my time if the store plans to close in the middle of the day, on a weekend. read more

I was a little disappointed today going into this store. I initially went here because it's the only store near me that carries Sol De Janiro. When I walked in I wasn't greeted at all. The store was pretty much empty. It took about 10min until one of the associates notice me and asked if I needed help right when I was headed to the register to pay. I work in cosmetic retails and I would definitely like the same customer service that I would provide a customer that shopped at my store. read more

My go to for skincare products. I've been shopping there for years. I'm cruelty free and they have a large selection of products for me including Jane iredale, Rodial, Ahava and other newer unique brands. Different price points with products clearly marked. All of the women who work there are helpful and know all about their products. There's a personal touch you don't get at manhattan village Sephora or Ulta near the South Bay galleria where you have to wait forever to get waited on. They greet me by name and remember what products I've used, asking for feedback if it's a newer line for them. I would call it a boutique beauty store. If you get on their mailing list you can find out about sales, etc. read more

I visited for the 1st time today and will definitely go back. I avoid some of the beauty places at the mall with headset-helpers and too many options. I asked about several different products today and they were very knowledgeable. I like the fact that they did not hover, but were available when I had a question. Bonus for me was that the entire store had a 25% off sale. I will be back! read more
