I drove into Chicago to stay with family before going to a concert. Candis helped me easily connect with hair stylists after sharing my hopes of chopping my hair and coloring it red. She had me set up an appointment with plenty of time before the concert to be able to also have the pleasure of getting my makeup done by her - which I was obsessed with and felt so confident! Her product knowledge is top tier, she even got me set up with an eyebrow pencil that matched my new hair color! Alexandria was gracious enough to squeeze me in last minute and take the time that she had to really hear me out, understand what I was looking for - cut and color both - and truly trusted my every call and honored my needs, giving me the most even and beautiful haircut I have ever received. In addition, I have been working towards taking care of my hair for a long time and shared that with her, so to ensure that we did not further damage my hair, she helped me to pick a red that would fit with my hair tone and pick up the red in the sun and light. Let's just say, I am obsessed!!!! I truly had the best experience at this store. Every single staff member I interacted with went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of and answered my every question. I usually shop at this location, employees are nice. Products aren't always available which is a little frustrating but the customer service is good. I've had good experiences here and they always help me with what I need. Sometimes when they don't have a product available they recommend similar products and they work out just fine! I also like how fast they move with lines and how fast I can get in and get out. Today I had a HORRIBLE experience at Ulta! I had an appointment scheduled with Jessica and as soon as I came in I felt she did NOT want to work with me. She was rude and unwelcoming and had me waiting while she was on the phone on multiple calls with other clients completely ignoring me. 30 minutes passed by and she continued to answer other calls. I finally asked if there was anyone else that could answer the phone and she proceeded to yell at me "do you still want the service?" No apology! Or regard for my time! She then completely LIED to the manger stating that I was late to my appointment when I arrived early! Then they refused service after the miscommunication on their part regarding the scheduling. Shout out to Roberto! Came in, distraught because all of my make-up was gone and I needed some serious help refreshing my look anyway. He asked me specific questions and tailored the product to my need. He gave me a makeover of a lifetime and really listened to me. He was so friendly and gave me suggestions and tutorials on how to apply this make up. Guess what I did? BOUGHT ALL THE MAKE-UP HE SUGGESTED! I scheduled a hair cut with Vanessa C! She did such a great job listening to my needs and cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. I told her I wanted all the dead ends off but still wanted some length and she did just that. I love how she styled my hair afterwards and the treatment that she did also left my hair really soft and manageable. She is so professional and really knows what she is doing! ZERO STARS. WASTE OF TIME!! I had booked an appointment with a hairstylist named Jessica Torrez at 10:00 am on 10/28/2020. I showed up before the appointment time thinking I'd meet with Jessica to talk about my expectations for my daughters hair cut. The doors were closed at 9:55 and I was told that they opened in five minutes, this was before I could even say a word to the associate. Then a man that worked there with highlights opens the door but didn't invite me in. He just opened it and went back to the cash register. I walked in DIDNT GET GREETED OR SCREENED walked straight to the back and no one was there. Jessica Torrez DID NOT SHOW UP UNTIL 10:25. She came in saying she did not feel good and just showed up to call her clients to cancel. Jessica Torrez was dressed in her work attire and had her hair curled and makeup done. This leaves me to believe that it was a lie to cover up the fact she was not on time for the appointment. Who in there right mind would show up to a store to cancel appointments when they are not feeling well during this pandemic. Shouldn't she have called her manager on duty this day to have someone else call her appointments to cancel? It looked as though she took a great deal of time to get ready to go into work for this task, so why not come in sooner than her 10:00am appointment to tell me she was going to cancel? My issues are the cashiers and never having products available... I try not going to this location for that fact. I usually go to suburbs ( girls are much nicer, approachable too and product is always available). This location the cashiers have a bad attitude just as bad as the makeup they have on. The reason for products not available is for theft, they probably have... Let's not mention when you bring your own bag, you bag your own stuff, have some customers service and bag the items for the customer. An associate called me Friday to confirm my appointment (which I did) and today they are rescheduling it because the salon associate was not in. Meanwhile I call the Ulta in river forest and they were more apologetic for the inconvenience than the Pulaski location was. She was helpful at river forest and accommodating. I stood in line for about 10 minutes. I got impatient and walked around. THERE WAS NO ONE to help me and I wasn't going to bother the girl working on a customer.
