Ungodly spicy dry large bones-in jerk chicken plate
    Amy J.

I re-tried this place after a poorly guided experience left me in pain from overly spicy foods last time. The kind owner reached out and told me there were choices when it comes to sauce here and so I chose the reggae ginger which is a sweet but not too sweet sauce to cover my boneless (by choice this time) chicken platter. The jerk spice itself was still spicy but not unmanageably so. I could actually appreciate the clove and other delicious spices in the jerk seasoning now and the boneless chicken chunks were not minefields of bone slivers and weren't dry either!! The fries were moist and lightly crispy on the outside with nothing soggy. I am so glad I returned. Two huge huge suggestions for uJerk: The menu online and in person doesn't say anything about sauce choices. This is a big miss and will lead people to choose what they don't necessarily want most e.g. me inadvertently getting the default super spicy sauce my first time as I had no idea to ask for sauce of my choice. You MUST put the sauce list on the menu! Second, there are no sugar free drinks available. There is only Jamaican soda and lemonade which leaves out a lot of customers who cannot drink the super sugary stuff.

    Tastefully decorated!

Great food and service! You have to stop buying. The plantains and chicken were delicious! The servings were huge! Fed both of us with leftovers! We will be back next time we are in Downtown Cleveland!

Delicious!! I had the jerk chicken salad with a side of spicy fries, portions were huge and the chicken was perfect-full of flavor, tender and juicy, the right amount of spice. Will definitely eat here again!

This place is amazing! Very good quality chicken, and awesomely full of flavor without being too spicy! In case all the spices made you thirsty, each mean comes with their signature juice box style strawberry, peach or regular lemonade. Highly recommend the jerk chicken cutlet wrap, fries with spicy sauce, and coleslaw. High quality food with not a long wait. Check it out!

Dang this was a great experience! My coworker and I each opted for the same thing: Platter of jerk chicken wrap with the fries (seasoning on top). Super generous amount and honestly, more food than 1 average person needs. Perfect amount of sauce, spice and veg of L, T and Red Onion (?) I think. Served in little boxes so no fear of tipping en route back to work. I would recommend ordering ahead online ONLY because if you're hungry like we were, the wait was killing us! The staff was super friendly and eager to help. Oh yeah, the gal with the cleaver is a ROCKSTAR! I might need to learn some skills from her!

Really tasty. I got the wrap which was phenomenal. I should have gotten a sample of sauces on the side. The jerk fries were really good as well.

Just WOW!!!! This is the Rasta Pasta with chicken and it's amazing!

It has a nice outer crunch and is well seasoned but not overwhelming with it. You can see the cracked pepper on the skin. It's juicy and cooked well. I do prefer a more cruncher skin however, but this is preference. Chicken alone is a 9/10. This may be controversial but Cole slaw is FIRE to me lol. I consider myself a slaw connoisseur. I enjoy it with numerous meals and meats. The slaw here is yummy. Nice crunch of cabbage and carrot. Mayo base and the perfect ratio of mayo and cabbage 10/10. Every group has a weak link and that is the fries. They were hard. They are shoestring fries and it can be easy to over cook this style of fry. Next time I will opt for another side option 1/10. The cornbread was ok but flavor wise was different and delicious. When I took a bite of this cornbread, my whole mouth dried. It literally sucked all the moisture from me . However, the flavor is vanilla cake like and just delicious 4/10. I also ordered a beverage called Morir Sonando. This is a Dominican beverage that typically consists of oranges, sugar, milk and ice. A beverage I am a fan of. For those foreign to Morir Sonando, it is very reminiscent of Dairy Queen's orange julius, except way less sweet and less thick. This drink is no short of amazing 10/10. Refreshing. Beef empanadas. Delicious. Get them. Get a side of the sauce 11/10. Lastly, I ordered the tres leches cake (3 milk cake). Perfection at its finest. When you're craving tres leches cake, you want THIS. Upon walking in for pick up, Pica Pollo West was very clean. Which makes my likely hood of returning anywhere higher. The service was average. Nothing worth noting. I will return. I want to try their fish next!

The curry chicken meal came with a few pieces of chicken, cabbage, plantains, and rice & peas. Everything on the plate was delicious. The chicken was juicy and tender, and it was flavorful but not too spicy. I really enjoyed the plantains, which had the perfect amount of sweetness. And I'm not typically the biggest fan of cabbage, but I like the way Gar and Mar cooks and seasons theirs. But oh my God, THE BEEF PATTY. Next time I come here, I might just make my meal a bunch of beef patties. The curry chicken was good, but the beef patty was absolutely fantastic. The crust was so buttery and flaky, and the filling so flavorful and well-spiced. The patty was so good that I ordered another one for "dessert," though the patty is very much savory. It was a good amount of food for under $20. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice and casual.

This unassuming spot is positioned mostly for takeout, with few seats for those who choose to dine in, and offers a limited menu. Offers are made at the counter through a takeout window. I often gauge Caribbean or Jamaican restaurants by how well they prepare their oxtail stews. Unruly's stew had a little more heat than I anticipated ( guessing their recipe actually uses scotchbonnets vs. jalapenos), and it was delicious. The server even added in extra jus into my order ... As if she knew my heart. The portion was generous and reasonably priced. There also were bottles of fun, Jamaican sodas available for purchase. Overall, a good restaurant to satiate cravings. The location is a throwback of all the great "hole-in the-wall" spots but it's clean and bright! The food: First of all, I'm a foodie. This means I really enjoy every aspect of food. Presentation, taste, ambiance, music. Everything! During the pandemic, with dine-in options reduced significantly, we're all left wondering what food will taste like and if it loses any of its quality or flavor due to the delayed ability to enjoy it immediately. Well, this is not the case with this place. The jerk is spicy, flavorful and absolutely delicious. Be warned, food quantities are limited. So you'll need to get your order sooner than later. My financial and calorie budgets didn't allow me to also get a patty but they did look delish! My to go order was ready for me 3 minutes after I ordered it so I left to eat half at home. My car started smelling a little like cigarettes with the food in the car, for some reason. As a non-smoker, I wasn't thrilled having that smell in my car for the 10 minute drive back home.
