Absolutely BOMB!! A rare Caribbean gem outside of Queens/Bk.. they're open until late LATE! The meal we had was delicious. We ordered the busupshut & dhalpuri roti along w/ chicken curry-- not spicy & came along w/ channa -- excellent flavors from Trini-- felt like I was back in Ozone park stuffin my face again. We also ordered the side of spicy jerk chicken -- still tender & flavorful at 11p!! Fresh& hot food, clean spot. Family owned. This is my go to when we visit. I'm drooling thinking abt the food & writing this review

100% coming back again, definitely try this place out. Went in expecting regular Caribbean food, and finished wishing I had more. Everything tasted fresh. Jerk chicken was bbq'd nicely and seasoned great. Had that compounding spice that had me sweatin just the right amount. Mac and cheese was awesome. Perfect texture, not runny or chunky, just right. Not sure what the spinach dish was, but was like creamed spinach with no cream and great spices. Enjoyed it very much. Service was quick enough. Owner gave good vibes.

There aren't too many Trinidadian spots in Cleveland, so Callaloo filled a large hole in my heart. Kelvin, the owner, was lovely and gave me massive servings for my 13 dollar vegan bowl. I'd never tried callaloo (the stew of greens) before, but it was delicious with a kick to it, and the okra, cabbage and chickpeas were fire. My friend also liked her jerk chicken (which was also MASSIVE and lasted her at least two meals). Will be back for more!

10/10 recommend! Everyone was kind, the food smelled and looked amazing, fresh. Demi he ours portions but very filling! Normally not a fan of Mac but something told me to get it and I like the "twang" this dish had! Would suggest!

The taste was standard, but the thing that stands out most is the quantity. Loved how generous they were with the fix ins for the tacos and all the toppings you could add--including guacamole (no extra charge like how they do at chipotle). My 2 tacos ended up resembling a taco bowl. The chorizo taco was well seasoned. 4/5 The shrimp taco was okay, decent but probably wouldn't get again. 3/5 The tostada had that good thick buttery bread, honestly could eat that by itself. Picture doesn't do it justice. 4.5/5 Enough seating indoors. Definitely appreciate the salsa bar, which had plenty of salsas that had a spicy kick, but also pickled onions and peppers. Parking available as free street parking outside. Definitely will consider coming back if I'm craving Mexican food.

I did add a bunch of add-ons. Not something you can pick up after it sits for a while. Got a bit soggy since it was being delivered. Had to knife and fork it. Would've liked it to be more of a quesadilla where it's "sealed" with cheese. Looked more like a taco since the cheese was still in it's shredded form. Churros were drenched in chocolate and had filling which were delicious. Again, prob because it was delivered the outside lost it's crispness. Turned into pretty much a donut. Would like to try dine in next time.

Very sadly, I just saw that the two other locations are closing immediately, just 1 day after our Valentine's Day dinner at the Larchmere location - now officially, the only one left standing. The Lakewood Barroco was in my top 5 favorite restaurants in all of Cleveland and I am super bummed. I hope this last location will stay open for a very long time. As for the Barroco food, it was superb. We went all out and tried a few things on the menu. We aren't big drinkers but I sipped on a strawberry mojito with lots of real strawberries throughout ($14) and my bf enjoyed the "Iguana," a pretty little rum cocktail ($12). We shared the shrimp device and tostones appetizer ($18). The tostones reminded me of a structurally sound latke, or potato pancake! Our shrimp ceviche was doused in lemon juice and mixed with lots of healthy vegetables. This was large enough to be an entree for a healthy eater! However, we still had lots of room in our tummies and we each got our own main dish. I stuck to the arepa and yucca fries combo I love so much, although I switched it up and ordered a different arepa than my usual. I liked my "Ropa Vieja," or braised beef arepa ($22), fine but I prefer my usual pulled pork arepa much much more. The braised beef arepa was like a sloppy Joe in an arepa. Made for pretty good leftovers though! My beloved was feeling adventurous and treated himself to a nice and fatty cut of the Carne Asada and Calentado entree ($38). After tax and tip, our bill was a hefty $130 for the two of us. I'd say that the food, the service, and the ambiance made it worth it though and I hope it continues to stay open so we can come back!!

I thought it was a little bit on the pricier side but worth it for good flavors and service.

Terrible quality, service issues, long wait. It's nothing like the original Barrio. Like I'd love to support local and Barrio, but it's now consistently a horrible experience. This time, I arrived during the early afternoon when the place was almost empty. Ordered queso blanco, sassy pineapple drink, and tacos. Sassy pineapple was extremely diluted equivalent to drinking water. I don't know how serving something so watered down is acceptable. I waited patiently for tacos and received unexpected tacos - 3 instead of 4, hard shell instead of soft shell, very soupy. I don't know how the order derailed because there were only a handful of people in the establishment. The order was most certainly not mine, but they never found the original owner. The wait staff was nowhere to be found so when they eventually arrived, I just asked to pay out and refused the order of tacos. There was no "sorry" or offer to fix it. I went next door and supported another restaurant. When I announced to them I'll be doing that, they were very supportive. Barrio is just a huge disappointed. Wait time and service friendliness improved a tad bit but the quality is just awful. No offer for service recovery, no attentiveness, wrong orders and terrible drinks. I won't be dining here again. I'm sorry to see the establishment deteriorate and hope the ownership improves the experience. Cedar Fairmount has plenty of quality restaurants. I'm sorry to say that Barrio isn't one. Terrible decline. Support other restaurants in the area, skip this one

In town for a visit to Cleveland Clinic, I came here expecting to find the benchmark for all of tacology; how all other tacos are measured. But...there was no actual Tacologist. There was no science, let alone anything that I would refer to as a benchmark. When I arrived, I was seated and noted that I was one of three active tables in the entire restaurant. It was a slow day, as it had been raining much of the day. Beside me, there was a table of five ladies that had probably enjoyed happy hour a shade too much, and a couple who appeared to be having drinks. In other words, there was no excuse for the slow service and lack of attention I received during my meal. The staff was non existent. On to the food. I had guacamole as an appetizer, however it was brought out with my main course. I was told there was a mix up due to shift change. OK...a mixup with three tables and I am the only one ordering food? For my entree, I ordered the chicken fajitas. At least they came out piping hot! The guacamole was actually quite good. In fact, I should have ordered that and called it a day. The fajitas, while hot and colorful, had absolutely no spice. It tasted like sautéed chicken with salt and pepper. No cumin, no chile, no cayenne...nothing. And there wasn't a jalapeno or lime to be seen anywhere in the entire place. Come on... Nope...this is not the benchmark. This is Mexican food with a midwestern spice profile. If the chefs get confused over one order of fajitas, they have a long way to go before they can attain the coveted title of Tacologist. Two stars are being provided because I'm in a good mood today. The lack of effort is evident in the staff and the food. It's too bad, because this place has real potential.

It's night and day from this location in South Euclid. This location opened fairly recently in 2023, which is not too new to have such a terrible experience. I walked in and was greeted, which was promising. I reviewed the menu, selected my previous favorite, and was ready to order. The employee working on someone else's burrito, told me to step by "Order Here" sign multiple times. I wasn't able to advance anywhere near the cash register. She then said something completely unclear multiple times and kept up wrapping her burrito. No "I'll be right with you," just mumbling. A second associate then joined her behind the counter. They then proceeded to socialize with each other and completely ignored me. There was no attempts to take my order, complete checkout, or anything. There was no estimated wait time. I'm almost certain that no customer will hang out at the burrito place all afternoon hoping to place an order. Finally I asked whether I can place an order. Both associates looked at me with surprise like it's an unusual question. Even after asking there was zero progress made with starting my order. I decided that this is my cue to understand that I'm unwelcome and leave. While the concept of beach-inspired Mexican cuisine with tropical flavors is fun, it's not fun enough to wait forever for. I won't be stopping in again. I'm sharing this experience in hopes of other customers receiving a more courteous experience.
