Ordering station menu list

We were visiting relatives in the area and decided to have South Indian specialty Dosa and Idli/ mendu vada. See photos of items and seating area. Not fancy but just comfortable like takeout pizza place with seating. Separate bathrooms and self serve plastic fork and spoons. Drinks in bottles at reasonable cost. Good for quick bite

Medu Wada!

Thick baturas and flavourless Chana/chickpeas. I was warned that the cook/management had changed and quality had gone down. The Indian crepes used to be decent here as well, but again now they are soft and with no spice/salt. The 'masala' in the dosas used to be with onions and spices. Now it's just boiled potato with turmeric. Sambar - the lentil soup- was not fresh and required to be heated. Only surviving due to the proximity to the Indian temple.

This is a fully vegetarian south Indian restaurant. The quality of the food gets closer to the quality in India. Prices are relatively cheap. Mysore masala dosa was my favorite. Chikku shake was very good as well. Podi rava masala dosa was spicy, go for it only if you can take spicy food. Poori baaji and medhu vada was good too.

I really enjoy this Indian vegetarian restaurant the food is very good, served piping hot from the kitchen at a very moderate price. Orders are placed at the counter and delivered to your table when ready. Everything is served on styrofoam plates but you'll over look that minor issue at first bite.

The owners went out of their way to remake dishes without tree nuts to accommodate my husband's allergy. Delicious food and great service!

Its always worth the wait and the dosas are still hot and fresh. Sometimes the sambar is a bit watery.

Christmas Dinner 2025 -- a tradition we've kept going for about five years now…read more Ordered and paid for lunch online (couldn't be easier). My son and daughter picked everything up, brought it home, and even set it out buffet-style before the rest of us arrived. Poppadums didn't last more than a couple of minutes once everyone dug in Mango chutney and the Haveli Special naan -- never disappoint! When ordering online you can choose your heat level from mild to very hot. I've never been brave enough to try very hot, but my brother reckons there should be another option called Indian Hot I assume you can order this way in-house too -- the server really should ask. Everyone loved the spread and I've got leftovers for a couple of days (win!): Vegetarian samosas Lamb korma Saag paneer Butter chicken (mild & medium) Haveli mixed grill Perfect food, zero stress -- exactly how Christmas should be

I tried the gobi manchurian, garlic naan, malai kofta and vegetable jalfrezi. The malai kofta and jalfrezi came with basmati rice. The gobi manchurian and the malai kofta were excellent. The jalfrezi was overly oily and salty - do not recommend. The server was efficient, though not super friendly. The ambiance was elegant, but reminded me of Indian restaurants in the US from the 80s - plenty of South Asian brick a brac of dubious quality, white tablecloths, and generic Bollywood instrumental music. I haven't tried enough Indian restaurants in the area to be able to tell if there are better ones in the area. I would however recommend getting a mix of heavy and light dishes instead of exclusively heavy ones.

This is my first time with Tandoor in Middletown but based on glamour reviews of their food by Jon R (look him up!) I decided to pick up meal while passing by. I went with traditional lamb biriyani and Pudina naan bread. For starters, their menu is very diverse. Just the bread section alone and consume you for long hours - which a good thing, the more you can try, the more you experience. Delivery was prompt and food well packaged - definitely somebody put care into wrapping naan correctly. For those that don't find joy in Biriyani, it's a rice based dish (often basmati) with meat like lamb, goat, chicken, beef or shrimp (I got the lamb). The aromas and flavors of ghee, nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon ginger or chilies stand out, with exotic spices like saffron. Often you find vegetables as well like onions and potatoes. Meat cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. Ordered portion should feed 3-4 people comfortably (as dish is filling) or leave one person leftovers for next 2 days - yay to next day and yet another one :-) Garlic sauce is a nice compliment if you go with the spicy variety (like me). Overall highly recommended! For vegetarians there is also meat free variant.

"There's a party going on right here A celebration to last…read morethroughout the years" (Kool and the Gang) What is the English translation of the word Utsav? Would you believe "celebration, or joyous occasion"? Well, I can probably declare that celebration is the right word to describe one of the best lunch specials I've found in months. Now brace yourself, and remove all breakables from the room, when I tell you that you can get a seven course Indian feast of a lunch for just $15. Utsav has 22 lunch specials priced in tiers -$15 for vegetable or chicken, $18 for seafood, and $20 for lamb. You'll find Utsav in the Wethersfield shopping center on the Silas Deane Hwy. All of those lunch specials start with a lightly dressed refreshing salad of greens, shredded carrots, seeded half cucumber slices, and sliced red onions. Now let me tell you about the remaining six courses. Your lunch comes out on a serving tray with lots of bowls - one each for your entrée, Basmati rice, eggplant with zucchini, spinach with potato, rice kheer for dessert (a rice pudding with raisins and nuts), and a separate plate with 3 wedges of Naan bread. I wanted to try something different for my entrée, and since I didn't think I ever had Khorma before, I ordered Chicken Khorma prepared very spicy. Korma is an Indian curry cooked in a yogurt sauce with nuts and spices. There was a good amount of tender chicken cubes, and that spicy curry was wonderful. Same with the rice, bread, and the vegetables, although I did prefer the spinach with potato over the eggplant with zucchini. There was so much rice and bread that I took half of those portions home for another day. I loved everything about Utsav, from the décor to the continental professional service to the broad menu, to those incredible Lunch Specials. Five Stars for sure.

We ordered a large spread to make our own little buffet and everything was amazing! We had mutter paneer, dal tadka, tandoori chicken, balti baingan, and hakka noodles. Everything was vegetarian except for the chicken, and even if you are a meat eater I recommend you try any and all of those dishes. The way Indian cuisine handles vegetables is always next level! It's hard to pick a favorite dish, but I have to say that the hakka noodles were perfectly smoky with tender-crisp vegetables, and the balti baingan, which is a dish comprised of smoky mashed eggplant, rocked my world. Service has always been great when I've been. It's friendly, quick, and I've never seen my water glass go down more than halfway. They also have a great lunch special that's almost like a mini thali which I recommend!

Himalaya, a Himalayan/Nepalese restaurant in Berlin, has been on my radar for a while because of…read moreits high overall Yelp rating. We recently moved closer and I decided to try it for a work at home lunch day. I did no research before going. It turns out that Himalaya does not presently have a dine in option, which is fine because I live nearby. I walked in to look at the menu and order. I'm not sure if the person who helped me was having an off day, or maybe he's used to regular customers ordering ahead and didn't like having to change his routine, but he was not particularly welcoming. No smile or friendly greeting. I'm fairly sure that he rolled his eyes when I went to pay with cash. I don't know who this person was relative to the restaurant, but it didn't set a good tone. I ordered from the Lunch Specials. I ordered the Chicken Saag special which came with Basmati Rice and Naan. I don't remember the exact cost, but I remember being surprised at how inexpensive it was. Everything on the Lunch Special menu was inexpensive relative to places I frequent. I was told that it would be 10 minutes. I returned around 15 minutes later and my order was ready. All of the food was at least OK to pretty good, but didn't really pop for me. I'm much more familiar with Indian restaurants than I am with Nepalese and Himalayan restaurants, but some of the dishes share names. I'm not sure if there are seasoning and other variations in Indian versus Nepalese cuisine, or if any variations are more based upon the chefs cooking the meals. In any event, Himalaya's version of both the Saag and the chicken in the Saag were different than I'm used to. I prefer the way the Saag is seasoned in my favorite Indian places in CT. I feel like the chicken in most Indian restaurants is kebab style and is cooked in a tandoori oven. Himalaya's chicken had a rougher texture and seemed like it was perhaps roasted. It was pretty good, but probably my least favorite Saag dish I've had in a while. The Basmati rice was fine. The naan was OK. The texture and flavor didn't measure up to my favorite Indian restaurants. I have multiple nearby Indian restaurants that I prefer to Himalaya. In light of that and my less than positive service experience, I'm unlikely to return to Himalaya. However, given Himalaya's strong overall rating, it's clear that others have had good experiences and maybe you'll have better luck than I did. And as I said, the lunch specials are a good value. 3 Stars
