This restaurant is close to SV temple. Thier menu is extensive. The food was amazing and the service was very quick.

Right-sized delicious portions of food. My partner and I each ordered a meal, and the server quickly sensed we were going to share and brought over additional spoons for each of us. The raita was a nice and cooling accompaniment, and the pickle was a bit spicy, but paired well with our orders. The garlic naan was warm and soft

Worth all the hype! This little hole in the wall mom and pop shop may not appear to be much on the outside...but the food is incredible. As soon as I stepped out of my car I was hit with a wonderful smell of curry, seasonings, and bread. I was soo excited!! I got the appetizer sampler to try a little of everything and it was amazing!! I also got garlic nan which was incredible, and the Mysore Masala Dosa which I haven't tried yet because I got wayy too stuffed - looks fantastic. Overall, I can't wait to be back! Love authentic restaurants

I've been meaning to try Udipi for a while and I am glad I finally did! They were very helpful and accommodating for our large group, filling our waters frequently and ensuring we had what we needed. I enjoyed the appetizer platter and the Mysore masala dosa was delicious. I'd love to try some other items as well.

Food- 5/5. The dhosa with potato's and curries are amazing. I think about them often, and enjoyed their crunchy crepe texture. Great value and taste. Get The DHOSA. Ambiance 3/5. Fine, nothing special. Service 5/5. The servers were great, and the food came out very quickly. 5 - I will seek this restaurant out and convince skeptical friends to eat here. 4 - I often eat here or would be happy eating here. 3 - if someone in my group wants to go here, why not? 2 - I will take some convincing to go back. 1 - You cannot convince me to go back.

Finally found one of the best vegetarian Indian spot in town. This hits the spot for me and brings me back home. Everything was cooked to perfection! Staff are super friendly and good are served quickly. This would a typical mom and pop restaurant decor. No frills and people usually go there for its food. Super convenient for temple goers nearby. The food we ordered was based off our friend's recommendation. I would totally go back there for it all again.

This place is the best south Indian food I have had in the US! Having gone to Pittsburgh for grad school, this was a go to spot for me whenever I missed home, so it was on the top of my list when I got back here with my wife for a trip. The ambience of the place is of a very typical south Indian restaurant. Nothing showy or flashy, just what is necessary for a nice clean meal. We went here right after it opened so it was fairly empty (it gets super duper busy for lunch), to our luck! We ordered the mango lassi, the tomato onion and chilli uthappam and the andhra masala dosa. As always and as expected the food was perfectly on point! The uthappam was soft and fluffy while the dosa was nice crispy and spicy. The sambhar had the perfect tangy to spicy ratio and everything came together with the coconut chutney. As with any south indian meal we washed all down with a filter coffee in the end and jad an amazing time.

We went his for our breakfast, and what a filling meal it was! The place is a small looking restaurant just off the road, and can be missed easily. But on the inside, the place has ample seating and a wide menu to choose from. After much deliberation and consultation with our server, we decided to start our meal with Mango Lassi, Spicy Andhra Masala Dosa, and a tomato, chilli, and onion uttapam. The portion size of each dish is pretty good. I was hardly able to finish my uttapam in one go, and had to pack some for later. The mango lassi was thick and creamy, while the main dishes were spicy as promised and full of flavour. At the end we ordered a filter coffee to nicely wrap our breakfast with a pretty bow. All in all, the meal was very yummy and reminded me of food back in India. I would definitely recommend!

A great South Indian pure vegetarian spot in Monroeville (way out in the sticks, so it's a bit of a drive). The eggplant dish I got from the photo doesn't look like much, but the spice and flavor were incredible (and it will fill you up too; I'm glad I didn't order bread because there would not have been room!) The saffron vermicelli dessert was warm and comforting too. The restaurant was clean and service was pretty decent too so no complaints there. It's a bit far from where I live but next time I happen to be back in Monroeville, I'll pay a visit to try some other dishes. Great place!

I can't blame the restaurant fully, as I should have done a little more in-depth research on Indian cuisine, and there was definitely a communication problem! I'm not a negative person, so now that I've said the above warning, I will say the food was delicious. I asked for a spicier version of chicken curry, you know, where your lips burn, but in a good way, and you just cant wait for the next bite! Definitely quality ingredients (and I'm betting they use cashew flour as a thickening agent)! The restaraunt is very clean. I would give the food a 4 out of 5. this is a long overdue review for my favorite indian restaurant in the city (and possibly my…read morefavorite restaurant of all). i eat here almost every week, but keep forgetting to leave a rating. time to fix that :) bombay to burgh is an amazing restaurant. it's always delicious, with food that tastes fresh and perfectly balanced. as a fan of indian food, i love how the menu isn't stuck on the classic dishes that you find in every indian restaurant in the US. sure, you'll find butter chicken, tikka masala, palak paneer, naan, and biryani, and they are all very delicious! but there are also dishes like bagara eggplants (described by the menu as "spice stuffed baby eggplants in a roasted peanut, sesame, poppy seeds and coriander gravy, finished with tamarind and coconut") and chicken xacuti (described as "a classic, aromatic chicken curry from the coastal region of Goa, India, known for its complex blend of freshly roasted spices, toasted coconut, and tamarind for a tangy balance"). i ordered both of these tonight and can vouch that they are extremely tasty and worthy of your attention. personally, my only struggle here is that literally every item on the menu looks delicious, and i hate having to choose! which brings me to my favorite part of this restaurant: sunday buffet. now, the food is wonderful every day of the week. i just ordered some tonight myself, so i definitely recommend it. that said, my absolute favorite time to come is for the buffet on sunday. i think buffets get a bad reputation for being all about quantity over quality and for having an unpleasant atmosphere (the passive aggressive "don't waste food" signs that most have don't help, either). sadly, these complaints are true of most buffets. bombay to burgh is a wonderful contrast and, in my opinion, does buffets the way they ought to be. the atmosphere is pleasant (no signs!) and you're likely to see many regular customers. there's a good chance you'll even be greeted by the very owner, G, and get to speak with him a bit! the staff is all very friendly and helpful, always doing their best to make sure you enjoy your visit. they are always happy to help if food needs to be refilled at the buffet or if you want to order anything. finally, and most importantly of all, the food is amazing! unlike most buffets, bombay to burgh only puts out a limited number of offerings: 2 appetizers, 2 meat entrees, 2 vegetarian entrees, 1 bread, 1 rice, 1 dessert, and 1 beverage. i think this is the perfect number to ensure there's both variety and quality. plus, you can actually try a little bit of everything, which usually isn't possible at giant buffets. my favorite part is that every week brings new food, which is now usually themed around a certain region of india. you know they'll always have reliable butter chicken and garlic naan to make you happy, but the rest of the buffet might be dishes you've never eaten before. it's a perfect way to explore different flavors and new food, without worrying you'll waste your money. eating out is a bit pricey anywhere these days, but i personally think that the buffet is still very affordable. have you seen the price of appetizers recently? just the fact that you can choose from two of those with your meal makes it a good deal to me! i feel very fortunate that i get the chance to eat here regularly. while i've loved indian food for over 20 years at this point, bombay to burgh has taken my appreciation to a whole new level and has me researching more food to cook myself. it's a wonderful place to eat!

There was an appetizer that I had never heard of or tried before, so I wanted to try it (similar to a pani puri). I appreciate the tip because I would not have otherwise known that. And I am so glad I ordered it because it was delicious! The combination of the sauces with the shell and contents was a flavor blast. Definitely something I will order again. For the bowl, I did a build your own.
