Delicious dishes like beef tataki, hamachi sashimi, raw shrimp, sushi, noodles etc. Bring your own wine too!

Good value for great sushi and service, plus bring your own bottle BYOB. We tend to enjoy some of the more popular Japanese appetizers, edamame, gyoza, but they were buried in the middle of the Chinese menu. Usually having both Chinese and Japanese food on the menu is a huge red flag, but we didn't order anything Chinese. We also enjoyed the mixed/combo tempura, generous 4 pieces of shrimp. Our highlight was the Lychee roll, nice balance of sweet and savory. Wasn't too hard to walk in and get a table on a rainy Thursday night, no way to make a reservation that I could figure out. Definitely coming back.

We picked this restaurant because it was close to the escape game we wanted to go to. We were 6 people and the service was fast despite the restaurant being packed. It's a fun restaurant because it is BYOB so we brought wine and sake. It is a Japanese restaurant but they also have Chinese food which is good because my brother's girlfriend doesn't really like sushi but loves Chinese food. I tried some of her salt and pepper pork chops and omg it was delicious! it was juicy and there was no bone! It had a hint of curry spices added. My boyfriend and I had the chicken corn soup followed by the edamame. The soup was good like the ones in Chinatown. The edamame was not very impressive however. I've had better elsewhere. We had the hamburger appetizer which is made up of scallops, spicy crabstick, caviar and unagi sauce. This was so good and came highly recommended by the waitress. My brother ordered the scallop cake which is similar but has way more mayo. I personally preferred the hamburger. I just realized as I am typing this that we ordered the beef sashimi because it was also highly recommended by the waitress but we never got it!! omg! I hope we didn't pay for it! I don't have the receipt anymore. This is what happens when you drink too much at a resto lol. We had the shrimp tempura and salmon sashimi and the following sushi rolls: Dragon tear - salmon, carrots, shallots, shallots, caviar, spicy sauce and deep fried inside (my least fave probably because of the carrots). Uchi sushi roll - octopus , caviar, crabmeat, shrimps, spicy sauce and tempura (my favorite roll). Caterpillar roll - spicy tuna, tempura, cucumber and covered with avocado Sushi pizza - rice cake , spicy mayo, avocado, smoked salmon, cucumber, tamago, crabmeat stick and caviar (there was a lots of cucumber and crabmeat but not very much smoked salmon). If you are in the area and want a decent sushi or Chinese restaurant that allows you to bring your own wine or beer then I would recommend this place.

7/10 Just order their specialty rolls. They are pretty unique and descent. Presentation is great also because it's on a boat or bridge. Their regular rolls and sushi are nothing special, all you can eat level. Quality of the fish is soso. Lastly if you are ordering general tao or beef and brocoli here, your at the wrong restaurant. Service is hit or miss, sometime you wait 3 mins for food, other times 2 hours.

Went last night for dinner; the service was excellent! Our water was topped off regularly, and everything arrived to our table in a timely manner. The special salad, garlic broccoli, vegetarian dumplings smothered in an amazing peanut sauce, and fried tofu were all delicious. We then ordered the sushi pizza, which was unique and consisted of a perfectly fried rice patty topped with avocado and chopped up imitation crab & egg. The sushi rolls we got: dragon eye, caterpillar, sweet potato & avocado maki. And also, we got the tuna sashimi. Yum. Everything was excellent and will be going again!

Still my favorite sushi restaurant in Montreal. So fresh and so well prices. Faves: scallop hamburger. The uchi seafood salad. Uchi sushi roll. Salmon lover. Phoenix. Rice paper roll.

Best sushi I ever had. Presentation is great. A little noisy when full but with food like that who cares. Not too pricey for the quality.

Solid lunch special. Good fish, rice was legit and chef knew what he was doing. At like 13 bucks for 9 pieces the price was more than right.

Once seated, things happen very quickly...it is go, go, go (in the best possible way.) We ordered appetizers first, the tempura green beans with a delicious truffle mayo, gyoza and the tofu salad (they make it fresh every Sunday). Green beans were everyone's fave, but I have to mention the (pickled?) vegetables on the salad. So flavourful! Also tried the egg drop soup which is so tasty. Mains were the salmon tuna bowl, the beef short ribs, the shrimp burger, and 48 hour pork with curry sauce. Everything was wonderful! Finished with their soft serve ice cream, I had the cherry blossom but one of us had the sake, which is a shot of sake poured on top. Amazing! You can even have wasabi or ginger... I'll try that next time (and there will be a next time soon!)

You can also order to go here I believe. They really operate efficiently, expect fast service! Tables are tightly situated and there's a cozy bar situation where I sat this time, able to watch the chefs cook right in front of me. The daily specials are posted on their Instagram page, as well as written on pieces of paper around the restaurant. My server quickly helped me to water and a glass of sake. I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. I hope to eat here often, for years to come and am so happy to see this iconic Japanese restaurant still thriving years later.

I wanted to share my experience because their online and in person menu is quite ambiguous and doesn't do justice in explaining their tasting menus. What I really like about this restaurant is that unlike many, they don't make everyone order the same thing. It just requires a minimum of 2 people for the tasting menu and everyone else can order what they please otherwise. The $55 tasting menu is pretty worth it imo. The fact that a drink alone is about $17 as is makes it worth, because it comes with multiple tapas and a drink of choice. The server tried his best to explain everything to us beforehand, but we couldn't help but start to worry during the meal when a few plates came out and we hadn't seen anything for a while. Basically, there are 3 courses, and each course contains multiple items which come out pretty quickly all at once. We started off with lighter apps like edamame, karaage, gyoza, and Japanese pasta. There will be a waiting period before the next course comes out (but don't panic like we did, it doesn't end here). The second course contained tuna poke, a vegetable dish, beef tataki, and takoyaki. There is another waiting period before the third (and heaviest) course comes out. We received pork ribs (a crowd favourite), salmon, and a watermelon salad to end. There were definitely more dishes that I'm forgetting but by the end of it we were all stuffed and pleasantly surprised with the variety we received and unanimously thought it was pretty worth. The restaurant environment is also such a vibe... just a great social setting overall. We had some people in our group that opted out of the tasting menu and decided to share à la carte style, and they also enjoyed their meal and thought it was worth it too. I'd highly recommend this spot as it was a highlight during our trip.

We showed up on time for our reservation. The restaurant is dark, and sleek looking, so it could be a place for dinner or for drinks at the bar. We browsed the menu, and decided to go light and ended up trying the the following: - Edamame (with Furakake): Good. Soy beans can only be so different between restaurants. I will note that some of the soy beans we got were the biggest I've even seen. Furakake added needed flavour. - Avocado Truffle Tacos: OK. Quite tiny, but well made and tasted good. I didn't get any hint of truffle though. - Wagyu Dumplings: Good. But similar to any good quality non-wagyu dumpling I've had before. Overpriced. - Paradise Maki: Good. I like the texture of the tempura. - White Dragon Maki: Very good. I think the ponzu sauce elevates this dish another level. Service was pretty standard. Did all the tight things, and timely, but not particularly friendly. Overall, it was an OK visit. Food overall was generally good quality, but very expensive for the quality and quantity you get. But I also recognize that sometimes you pay for ambiance, and you certainly do here.

I stopped by around 8:45 PM, 15 minutes before they closed, but the staff were so kind and lovely, let me dine in, gave me a free drink on the house, and even told me to take my time and not worry about closing. I ordered the spicy garlic pork ramen with thick noodles, and I was blown away with how flavorful the broth and QQ (chewy) the noodles were. I didn't like the pork that much and found it a bit tough and gamey, but they do have two other types of meat (chicken, beef) as well as a vegetarian option available, as well as seasonal menu specials. However, no dipping sauce is provided, all other joints that I've been to will give you a mayo dipping sauce, not here. The Ramen - noodles were perfectly cooked, however honestly package ramen had a better flavor than their Original pork ramen unfortunately. I had expected this rich and creaminess of the pork broth, that was sticky-lipped intensifying, but it was not. This was disappointing and thus can only give 2 stars. I can't say for other noodle type, but original pork ramen needs a lot of work.
