a long roll of sushi
Mary H.

I think this one is probably the best sushi option we have in the south shore of montreal. Best part is that it is also a byow! The ingredients used are fresh....a lot of fishes are from Japan. Most of the rolls are not authentic but the taste is very good. Pricing is as you would expect in any sushi restaurant. Make sure to check out their specialty menu on the wall...I didn't and missed out of some delicious rolls.

Omakase sushi platter

Took the 50$/person omakase menu + uni sashimi. The first 2 plates were delicious. The madai sashimi was fresh and flavorful. The foie gras and salmon torched sushi was very tender and the sauce was amazing. Then came the second platter. All the rolls were pretty good except for the one wrapped in rice paper which tasted nothing special. The sashimi were also ok but some cuts were tiny. For 50$ a person, it was pretty decent and most rolls were very special and creative. The service was a bit slow for the sushi platter, but it's understable since there were other tables and orders at the same time and there seemed to be only one sushi chef. As for the ambiance, the restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. They also have parking outside.

Shoji has been my favourite, go-to restaurant on Montreal's south shore for years (I'd like to think 10 years!). They are unbeatable in terms of quality for the price. Over the years I have pretty much tried everything on the menu, ranging from the sashimi to the teriyaki chicken. Everything is excellent, all the time. They have a lot of more creative dishes and rolls. I would highly recommend checking out the specialties section and chef selection. One of my all time favorite dishes is the Romeo & Juliette. A roll filled with different fishes and rolled in cucumber. So refreshing and perfect with the sauce they serve on the side. The last timeI had Shoji was last night amidst the covid-19 craziness. Thank you Uber Eats and Shoji! The service and delivery was incredibly fast and the chef surprised us (I asked for a surprise order) with some truffle sushi and foie gras sushi! Thank you so much! We will continue to come here for years to come.

Combo C lunch special

Very good sushi! A notch better than sushi shop and prices are reasonable. We ordered through Uber eats and had no problems. I like that they have a lunch menu, which includes a variety of combos that cost around $12 for 14-16 pieces, enough for a satisfying lunch for 1 person. They even through in a little surprise dessert, some sort of corn chip !

Party pack combo plus extra sushi

Great food and presentation! The pic speaks for itself! Would definitely eat there again!

Sooooo... I decided to give this place a second chance and this time I went for diner. It has started out good but when it got to the "main event", it went downhill QUICKLY! If I were to review solely on the sushi, I would of given this restaurant 2 stars max. First. The service was good. Nothing more, nothing less. I had the Table D'hôte for 37$. Now keep in mind that we DID ask if the chef would put different varieties of sushi so we could share our two different table d'hôte choices. To which the waiter said "YES". Started off with a Tom yum soup but it reminded me more like a soup we call "canh chua" in Vietnamese. After all, this place is Vietnamese owned. Then I had the salmon tartar. Fresh fish but quite simple. Perhaps too simple. The big disappointment was when my sushi platter came. It was ALL salmon (well 80% of the proteins). No variety besides the classic nigiri assortment. We took the Temaki and the Okane combination. They were very VERY similar. The maki and hosomaki were mainly salmon. I CAN'T SEE ANY MORE SALMON FOR THE NEXT SIX MONTHS!!! Not only that, it was poorly rolled and the rice... Undercooked, under seasoned and dry. As soon as I would pick up my piece of nigiri or maki, the piece itself would simply fall apart. The dessert was your typical fried banana like in all "Americanized" Vietnamese restaurant but with less character. I really wanted to like this place. Like in many other restaurants I've been to and given second chances AND actually liked it more the second time around...this place wasn't the case. I won't be coming back for a third try.

The Miso soups are not that good but the food is good, very nice presentation.

Nice presentation but the Miso soups are not that good. The price are ok, quite expensive.

Let's just start by saying it's a BYOW restaurant ! The place is very nicely decorated. The ambiance is nice and cozy with good music playing in the background to make your dinning experience just amazing. I suggest you to reserve on week-ends just because it get's busy after 6 pm which is normal for good places such as this one. Let's talk about the VERY GOOD FOOD ! Fresh fish exported all the way from Japan. I was not a big fan of sashimi (raw sliced fish ) until I got to taste for the very first time a variety of fresh, raw fish platter accompanied of fresh sea food ! If you want to try something different and you're not afraid of newness, then you've got to order the DEGUSTATION MENU and the price is reasonable for the quality of the food (85 $ for 2 person). Give it a try and you won't regret it !

A nicely decorated bring your own wine resto in Greenfield Park with friendly attentive staff. Ambiance is nice with slow jazz playing in background. We had the filet mignon which comes on a sizzling plate with veggies. The menu claims that it's AAA quality but I beg to differ. We order medium and it came medium rare (no biggie) but it was the kind of steak where you have to chew each piece for an eternity before you can swallow it. The teriyaki sauce was abundant and unnecessary. I've had better filet mignon from Provigo. The sushi platter for 2 has a nice variety of their signature sushi dishes. The star being the dragon eye which is dipped and fried in tempura. However after a while it gets boring and you get tired of eating it. The tom yum soup is nice and has pieces of pineapple in it which is original. The salmon tar tar appetizer was also very good. I've been here before many times for lunch and their lunch menu is a nice quick meal with colleagues or clients. Overall for a sushi restaurant on the south shore it's above average, but if you're looking for 4 or 5 star a 10 minute drive to the 514 is necessary.

Went back. Price jumped 14$ for the Omakase! The service was very slow. The quality is still there.

Pooh and I came here for lunch yesterday and we thought it would be like the Mitsuki in Saint…read moreHubert but no, not even close!! First off it's not a BYOW and many of the dishes were bland and disappointing. The tempura shrimp were made differently and when we bit into them they squirted a liquid (we assumed it was water) out. Quite literally when I bit into my piece it squirted water across the table The Pad Thai was just noodles and sauce and was dry The Dragon's Eye sushi tasted very fishy The ambiance was nice and the wait staff were friendly but the food wasn't very good We won't be going back! Just a note: The Mitsuki in Saint Hubert has changed ownership and name but food was still amazing and it's still a BYOW the last time we were there over 3 years ago.

Came with my family for Lunch. The price was $28.50 for all you can eat. I came before the pandemic…read morethat was the price for dinner time. I was really happy the place was open! The reason I can't give 5 star is the selection. The selection was so bad you have no tuna in your option. The maki was almost one of the only sushi I could get. Maki with cucumber, maki with avocado, or maki with salmon. They had one I believe in speciality that was avocado cream cheese and goberge. The other option all had shrimp tempura or deep fried. I like avocado and salmon, pretty simple but not offered on the menu. The sushi are good and the water service was really quick. I just wish I could have had a variety of choices. Most sushi place have a different lunch option. It might be a good option to come later for dinner instead.
