Only thing was the Chicken was a bit dry but the tempura veggies and house salad definitely tasted fresh and amazing. The maki sushis was wonderful 5/5 16pieces pretty tender and very fresh. Thick pieces of avocado and salmon with high end grade sushi grade fish. pretty impressed! Overall the service was attentive and wonderful .. we got our food very quickly even though we were a lot in our group they were able to set up an ordering system into different groups so we could all order effectively.. seemed like it wasn't their first rodeo and are very well prepared for huge groups. My wife and I decided to try this establishment and set a reservation. Just focused on where she was headed, I assume but still. Ironically on our way out the same hostess was coming back through and again almost knocked my wife over and bumped me as I pulled my wife out of the way. Again, no regard. I honestly think she didn't even notice, just so focused. So, my suggestion would be to be aware of your surroundings so you're not trampling the patrons. The pictures of the space are misleading. I thought the space would be bigger. It made it feel like you were on top of others. Nice quaint dark charge just compact. I had reserved the sushi bar. Now we had expected to be able to see what the chefs were doing but due to the height of the wood bar that was impossible. Also, we had expected a more personalized experience as where the chefs interact as had previously at other Japanese restaurants in Jamaica, the U.S. and while living in Japan. Here they just make up the orders. I would suggest a table to anyone since they do not interact, you're just getting a lot of noise. Also, you are in a high traffic spot for the employees coming and going from the back. All this aside the real surprise was the menu. It is unique as previewed online via their website prior to make a reservation. But found to be misleading/poorly formatted. The section for Sushi Rolls be it 6 or 8 pieces, at the top of each respective page states in red with parenthesis (6 pieces) and the other page (8 pieces). Below are the various rolls laid out with next to each one in red with parenthesis either a (6) or (8) depending on which page you are on. Now I assumed this was the price per roll as I found most menus in Montreal have a format of i.e. 00, 00.00, (0), (0$), 00$, and 00.00$. With a few in place of the $ sign using CAD. I did not think that if a page is already labeled at the top that anyone would format redundantly the amount given. And the actual price is 4 times that. Now I am not saying they aren't making a quality product. It was all very delicious. Presentation was impeccable but honestly to us it wasn't over the top or within reason of the price. I would have to say this is the most expensive sushi I have had. I believe mine was 37 CAD ($27 US). In the U.S. typically I'd say rolls range from $6-$20 USD. The cost didn't really matter, just wasn't expecting it. And again, the rolls are unique, normally not found elsewhere and were delicious. I just think the website should reflect the price of and not the amount when itis already stated, it is just misleading. Also note if your look at the drink's menu online, there are no parenthesis but to the right of each beverage item in red is a number indicating the price. So, you really shouldn't have it on one menu then be different on another. Drink wise I started with NIKKA MIYAGIKYO PEATED 2021 SINGLE MALT for 35$ (25 USD). I had never heard of it, but I like smokey drinks. A quick check showed this bottle goes for around $250USD. So, I'd say the price equates properly. But I also based this on a shot (being 1.5oz or 44.4ml). When it came out in the standard 6oz whiskey glass it was barely visible. I'd guess based on having these glasses maybe 1/2 an ounce. So, someone either really mis poured or...... I hadn't even tasted yet when another server (we had 2 it seems) came by and asked if I would like another drink and went to take the glass. I said I hadn't even tried it yet. He apologized and said he thought the glass was empty, so that is saying something. On the note of drinks, under sake you can find 300ml DASSAI 45 JUNMAI DAI GINJO for 85$ ($62 USD), this generally sells for about $35 USD. Literally around the corner @ Gyu-Kaku (Japanese hibachi) they sell it on their menu for (300ml) 55$ ($40 USD). Hidden Fish is a 42% markup over retail. Now dessert, amazing. Not found online. I ordered this cheesecake mouse with coconut cream top and an anglaise base. My wife, who is not big on desserts, took a taste then pretty much ate the whole thing. If for nothing else, we would go back to just have this dessert again. And I am kind of curious about the other options.

The Omakase 5 included two appetizers, a main course, 10 pieces of sushi, and a dessert--a generous and fulfilling selection that left us full and content. A standout dish was the fish consommé, a clear, delicate broth cooked over six hours and served piping hot. The chef guided us to dip each sushi piece halfway into the broth, balancing between warmth and the sushi's coolness. The heavily vinegared rice, when paired with the rich consommé, created a beautiful contrast of flavors, temperature and textures. The sushi course was equally remarkable, presenting ten pieces, each with a small mound of rice topped by a thick, fresh slice of fish. Two King salmon pieces--one marinated for eight hours and the other served raw--showcased the nuanced ways salmon can be enjoyed. The selection of tuna varieties (big-eyed, yellowfin, bluefin, and fatty tuna) provided a spectrum of flavors, each distinct and satisfying. We showed up on time for our reservation. The restaurant is dark, and sleek looking, so it could be a place for dinner or for drinks at the bar. We browsed the menu, and decided to go light and ended up trying the the following: - Edamame (with Furakake): Good. Soy beans can only be so different between restaurants. I will note that some of the soy beans we got were the biggest I've even seen. Furakake added needed flavour. - Avocado Truffle Tacos: OK. Quite tiny, but well made and tasted good. I didn't get any hint of truffle though. - Wagyu Dumplings: Good. But similar to any good quality non-wagyu dumpling I've had before. Overpriced. - Paradise Maki: Good. I like the texture of the tempura. - White Dragon Maki: Very good. I think the ponzu sauce elevates this dish another level. Service was pretty standard. Did all the tight things, and timely, but not particularly friendly. Overall, it was an OK visit. Food overall was generally good quality, but very expensive for the quality and quantity you get. But I also recognize that sometimes you pay for ambiance, and you certainly do here.
