The restaurant is beautiful. It has an intimacy that is appealing. The location is only open between 5-9. We showed up at 5:30 without a reservation and I wasn't sure we'd be able to snag a table. And honestly, if we had gotten there 15 minutes later, we probably would have had a long wait. So far, so good. We were seated at a table near the sushi bar and there was a vibration coming through the floor that was loud and a bit unpleasant. The prices were a little high which was a little off putting. But, we saw a couple of options - like a sushi boat - on their website ... but it turns out that is only for takeout, which is just weird. Service was slow and the wait staff disappeared at times. Normally, these things would have me deducting stars. But can I just say that the food was so darn good that I can overlook all of it. It was absolutely outstanding. Vegan sushi rich with umami. Rich with flavor. We didn't miss the fish. read more

Amazing atmosphere, in a minimalist yet rich decor. Though I first was disappointed to not see flowers in my plate (had been sold to me by a friend prior to the pandemic under the flower concept), I fell in love with everything I ate. Not too noisy, so perfect for a friendly get together too. I want one in 450 north! read more

What a beautiful ambience in a beautiful place to come dine in. We came here for a pre-birthday celebration and the experience was fantastic! The sushi was so fresh and delectable. I can't believe that it was plant based. The teas that they had were superb, and our hostess had a lovely attitude. I highly recommend this place, and will return again any day! read more

What a find. Our first night in Montreal and we show up without a reservation. We were seated right away. Our waitress was incredible. Kind, efficient, knowledgeable. The food: delicious, creative, beautiful presentation, plentiful. My carnivore partner didn't miss the fish at all. We have a vegan sushi restaurant near us, but Bloom is better. It was a good value for the money. We left under $100. If I lived in Montreal, I would frequent Bloom regularly. Thank you for a wonderful experience read more

Best sushi ever. The fact that it's vegan makes even more delicious. So many different flavors and all of them amazing. I don't remember all the names of the rolls but I remember we had the mushroom tartar, blossom roll, kamikaze, spicy roll, Mr. Crunch, and more. All delicious read more

Excellents sushis vegans. Belle soirée et service sympa. read more

Food was excellent but service has room for improvement. The wait staff were distracted, made no recommendations, brought out incorrect items and did not check on the table regularly enough. The dessert options also have room for improvement--the maki roll is very heavy while the ice cream was not smooth read more

Wonderful vegan sushi in a place with beautiful wabi-sabi ambience and friendly, attentive staff. I came back here with my husband after coming here on my own. We got the $35 special with miso soup, fried dumplings and 13 pieces of sushi that is the chef's choice, and also the Japanese salad. It's a great combo that we can highly recommend. read more

There are not enough words to describe how incredible this experience was. Bloom Sushi came highly recommended and they did not disappoint. I went with 4 other friends and we decided to order a spread of rolls (see receipt). The staff told us what was what when the food arrived, but we were so excited, I couldn't actually keep track of what was what All of the rolls were delicious and the rolls that contained jalapeños weren't spicy, in case anyone was worried about that. The rolls containing mushroom were MAGICAL and... now I'm hungry again. Definitely need to go back the next time I am in Montreal. I'll realistically be ordering everything I ordered the first time again because it was absolutely phenomenal. Will have to take better notes in the future... for science. If you're planning on coming here, make reservations in advance and come early for street parking. read more

Absolutely delicious! My husband was skeptical when I suggested a vegan sushi place but like others have said he did not even miss the fish! I don't know how they do it, but it is so flavorful and amazing. I would totally come back if I was local! Ambience was peaceful, and wait staff very attentive and helpful with making suggestions. Stumbled upon bloom late at night looking for a place to eat and I'm so glad we found this place . I hadn't noticed that majority of the menu is vegetarian rolls , but I was willing to try . Let me tell you all the rolls were soo good ! We orders the omakse and it was a good choice for two people and to try a bit of variety . Also had the gyoza and some cocktails . Overall great experience , our server was super sweet and we sat outside where we enjoyed the nice weather . read more

This vegan sushi bar stands out! We tried a bunch of different rolls and absolutely loved the crispy rice with mushrooms. I think you cannot go wrong with anything you order here! The place is fairly priced for the quality of food. I also liked their gratuity ranges, unlike many other high end restaurants it does not start at 18 or 22%. This is an honest review so I had to mention the gratuity range because it was a welcome change! I would recommend this place to vegans/ vegetarian and even meat eaters who try something different! This is also right in the heart of the city and a cute place. read more

Truly, a wonderful restaurant! You would not know that you were eating vegan food at all! It was so great that of the three nights that we spent in Montreal, we dined there twice! Don't miss this really wonderful spot! Love it! read more

Stopped by when we were in town for a girls trip. Such a cute place and the food was yummy! My non vegan friends enjoyed this place too!

Bloom is a beautiful sushi place with a Zen ambience. The food was amazing. Staff were attentive and helpful. Stoneware used was well selected and complimented each dish. My partner and I ordered a few items on the menu. We had the Mr. Crunch roll (Fried Oyster mushroom, shitake mushroom, tempura, avocado, masago arare, tartar sauce) ($14), Matcha ice cream ($7), The La Fiesta roll (Sweet potato, avocado, jalapeno, tempura, spicy sauce, sriracha, pesto (5 pieces) ($8), Mushroom tartar (oyster mushroom, enoki mushroom, shiitake mushroom and avocado, truffle with miso tartar sauce and taro chip) ($17), and Salmon Sashimi (konjac salmon, ponzu sauce, apple and caviar) ($15). My partner was blown away by how phenomenal the Mr. Crunch roll and the Mushroom Tartar were. He raved about it for the rest of the evening. I have never seen him so excited about food. This is a real testament to the power of a composed dish. I literally had to remind him to romaine calm and lettuce carrot on after our great meal at Bloom. Hopefully we will be visiting Montreal again soon so we can visit Bloom! read more

The best vegetarian sushi, hands down!! I am delighted to have dined here. I tried the dumplings, mangoo, kamikaze, and the Bollywood. All were fantastic. The pink margarita was so flavorful. I will be back here. read more

Dang I was so excited for this! And in the end it was quite good, and the room was beautiful and the service was wonderful and the wine and presentation were great and... perhaps we just ordered a bit off. We got the chefs choice sharing plate and I found that there was just too much going on flavourwise. The tastes were very much like those at Sushi Momo, which is to be expected, and I guess I was hoping for a little more subtlety, perhaps more focus on special heirloom vegetables and their beautiful flavours rather than on sauces and spice combinations and dips. As I said, all of this may be present at Bloom and we simple missed it. Will have to give it another try, but perhaps not right away. read more

As a vegetarian who is constantly disappointed by the lack of diverse sushi options at sushi restaurants I was incredibly excited to happen upon this spot. It was amazing to have more than 1 option to choose from and to feel fulfilled like other non vegetarian sushi diners do. I ordered my food as take out and although I had to wait a little while, it was definitely worth it. The rolls are big, filling, and bursted with so much flavor. I didn't even take a picture because I was just too excited. To all my fellow vegetarians/vegans- this one is for us read more

I have tried many sushi options and this place is delicious. I truly loved the Queen, Kamikaze, Dragon Eyes, Cucumber and Avocado Rolls. Pleased to have come across this spot--definitely left with a happy belly. Every dish is hearty and flavorful; you won't miss having sashimi or nigiri at a place like this. I have a few friends who are vegan or enjoy plant base meals and so I was really excited to try out this new vegan sushi place. Located in the heart of the Montreal Old Port, I was expecting an overpriced menu and long waiting times. However their online ordering system makes it simple to put your order through and go pick it up so as to avoir unnecessary wait. I ordered an Omakase for 2 which include miso soups, gyosas (fried dumplings) and 25 pieces. Now for my thoughts on this: The soups were okay, nothing to rave about. It was mostly broth with some pieces of tofu and seaweed. The gyozas weren't great. They tastes like they were store bought or frozen. The main component, the sushis looked great but were extremely salty. They had put salt flakes on the top and on the sauce at the bottom. We were two peoples and stopped eating after a couple pieces each. The place has potential. For 58$ + taxes, I expected a bit more. In comparison with other vegan sushi places, this one did not measure up. read more

Not a vegan or vegetarian myself, was worry whether we would have not enough food because it's all veggie, turns out we all got full and satisfied. Every dish is creative and contains various flavour. Even drinks manu has it's own specialty. We total six people, and we had tasting manu ($36 /person), total 71~75 pieces of sushi, including soup and appetizers, the amount of food is just perfect portion for each one of us. Atmosphere in the restaurant is also romantic, perfect for dating or just friends gathering. Strongly recommend. read more

Great vegan sushi! The food is delicious and artfully presented. It's kind of similar to Sushi Momo, yet different (but both are very good). First , the good: , very tasty , well presented , price point exactly right . Vegan can be so interesting and flavorful Staff is very nice . The Lu offered to wash and prepare separately our items due to my son with celiac . Our only issue was the number of items they offer as " can be wheat free" on their online menu is actually significantly lower once you get to the restaurant. It was still delicious and accommodating , but at least as of the writing of this review , be warned of much less choice . They did admit this was an error on their website, so they may update . read more

LOVE IT. Not giving it 5 stars because the service was somewhat slow & they only had ice cream for dessert. Other than that the menu is so aesthetically pleasing , with images and brief , straight forward description. Coup de coeur: definitely the mr crunch & the "egg" roll. Love the laid back atmosphere of this place. I will definitely go back. read more

We absolute enjoyed our experience at Bloom Sushi last night! Most of us from our group of 8 went with the sharing menu where for 36$ we shared enough food to fit an army including a delicious miso soup, the veggie gyoza, sushi platter with over 10 different sushi, and finally match ice cream for desert. We absolutely loved the food! The sushi was especially delicious and creative; great flavour combinations and in some cases, like the Bollywood, wildly unexpected! We had also ordered a few cocktails and although the flavour was there the alcohol was lacking. Opt for a table rather than banquets as they seemed to be uncomfortable to rest your back on! Service was good although I would have preferred taht someone ask me if I wanted an extra cocktail; I wouldn't have said no ;) read more

Make sure to get reservations before, this place is always booked and that makes me happy. The concept is similar to Sushi Momo but a touch more elegance which comes from the side of LOV.
