    Samurai combo
    Gino B.

This was a decent choice for Super Bowl Sunday dinner. They have a take out menu as well as menus for lunch, dinner and à la carte. With the Covid issue, take out is the best option and the menu has several combo packages to make ordering easy. I called in the order and picked it up 45 minutes later just as they estimated. We ordered the Samurai combo for two with a mix of sushi, sashimi and maki, Dragon eye, 5 speciality pieces as per the chef choice. Ok, so it's a far cry from the best but decent and satisfying. Some of the maki pieces had too much crab for my liking aside from that the rest were good. The salmon and tuna sashimi was fresh and delightful. Rice is critical for the maki and rolls and I have to admit it was well done and did not fall apart as experienced in some other sushi restaurants. Overall, given the prices are reasonable, the food was decent and satisfying, I would rate this a 3.5.

Uni is as good as if not better than any other sushi restaurant that I've eaten at in Montreal. The restaurant was introduced to me by friends from Vancouver. I knew that f it was up to Vancouver standards than it was going to be good. I was not disappointed. Everything that we ordered at Uni was excellent and reasonably priced. The restaurant is pretty small and very popular so reservations are a must. Enjoy!

Amazing sushi. Service is on the slow side, but by far the best choice for take out on the south shore. Really decent prices.

Don't be fooled by its exterior. Once inside, you forget that you are in some ugly strip mall. The ambiance, food, and service was great.

First off it's not a BYOW and many of the dishes were bland and disappointing. The tempura shrimp were made differently and when we bit into them they squirted a liquid (we assumed it was water) out. Quite literally when I bit into my piece it squirted water across the table The Pad Thai was just noodles and sauce and was dry The Dragon's Eye sushi tasted very fishy The ambiance was nice and the wait staff were friendly but the food wasn't very good We won't be going back! Just a note: The Mitsuki in Saint Hubert has changed ownership and name but food was still amazing and it's still a BYOW the last time we were there over 3 years ago.

The reason I can't give 5 star is the selection. The selection was so bad you have no tuna in your option. The maki was almost one of the only sushi I could get. Maki with cucumber, maki with avocado, or maki with salmon. They had one I believe in speciality that was avocado cream cheese and goberge. The other option all had shrimp tempura or deep fried. I like avocado and salmon, pretty simple but not offered on the menu. The sushi are good and the water service was really quick. I just wish I could have had a variety of choices. Most sushi place have a different lunch option. It might be a good option to come later for dinner instead.

The spring rolls taste like the frozen veggie ones from Asian supermarkets. The salad and rice were also nothing special. However, the for value it's not bad. We got the premium set for 2, which was $120 (tax & tip included). For anyone that's not a big eater, it's a good alternative to gyubee. Service was very attentive although the kitchen was quite slow. Our appetizers came 1 hour after our meats arrived, which was a bit strange. Ambiance is a bit cold since the tables are so close to the doors, so we constantly felt a gust of cold air during our visit.

I thought I had pre-booked a reservation, and we were running late. Parking in this area can be a trick. I dropped my wife off and continued to locate parking. She contacted me and said there was no reservation. I panicked as I parked my truck and sifted through my emails for a confirmation. I hustled the 0.4 miles back to her. When I went in the hostess said it wouldn't be a problem and brought us to a table. My wife later told me she was offered tea while she waited. The waiter was on spot. He knew their menu and provided us with his insights. All the food was Devine. Beautifully laid out and brought out each course in the perfect time. My wife loved the hibachi, she doesn't eat much in general and I do most of the cooking at home. She couldn't get enough of putting items in the hibachi and moving them around. Guess I need a hibachi at home lol. Also my wife is 86 pounds, so she gets cold easy. The hibachi was the perfect personal heater too!! We had a great time together. The ambiance had that perfect Japanese appeal, while still modern. I used to live in Japan so I can be skeptical when it comes to Japanese flair & food. This establishment did not disappoint. So if you are in Montreal, I highly recommend giving this place a go. Side note, pricing is very reasonable considering what is included in packages. And the Saki I had was delicious and looking it up for the going rate they make around $5 per bottle based on what they sell it for and market retail price (place around the corner up charges 110%). So you are more than getting what you pay for in my opinion. And sometimes you just cannot put a price on excellent service! We will definitely be returning when we venture. To Montreal again.

We were seated in the semi private area which has two tables and can accommodate 16 people comfortably... Maybe 2 more if you squeeze a bit. Drinks: I decided to embrace the unique experience by ordering a Ramune pop where you have to punch down a glass bead so that you can pour the soda. It's served into a glass with a lime flavored popsicle to give it extra flavor. Ordering: the way the menu works is that everyone gets the same things included with their meal. The only thing different is the protein ordered. - Onion broth: thin but oh so packed with umami flavor! - Salad: pretty good with light vinaigrette - Mushrooms: mmmhh fried and covered in soy sauce - Shrimp: delish and drown it in the tangy dipping sauce - Mixed Veggies: helps balance all the meatiness - Addictive ground ginger soy sauce: can eat this with everything! - Tangy chili sauce: love the flavor - Bowl of rice - Orange creamsicle ice cream: yay for ice cream! - Cup of Jasmine tea: wash down all that flavor The meats: with 3 choices of beef from least to most expensive--Beef Samurai, Sirloin, Filet Mignon. I went middle of the road with the sirloin but was able to taste the filet mignon off my friend's plate. Conclusion: filet mignon cut up in cubes had a rich beefy flavor that comes from the fat in the meat that is seared. It's really good, super tender and juicy. The sirloin also cooked and cubed has a flatter taste but still really tender and delicious. If budget is not an issue, go with the filet mignon, your taste buds will be singing! Staff was friendly and polite. The cooks, depending who you get make their own jokes to entertain you while cooking. Our cook did this knife flipping thing with his chef's knife into it's holster several times like it was nothing. I could just envision myself trying that and losing fingers and toes in the process!!! Overall, it's just a touch pricey but I loved the experience! We were all very satisfied. It's good sized portions guaranteeing that nobody will leave hungry. The place filled up by 6pm where every table was occupied. I will go back again!
