Good atmosphere, modern-esque with solid food. Yuzu Sake Spritz was fantastic. Service was fast and kind.

Pooh and I came here for lunch yesterday and we thought it would be like the Mitsuki in Saint…read moreHubert but no, not even close!! First off it's not a BYOW and many of the dishes were bland and disappointing. The tempura shrimp were made differently and when we bit into them they squirted a liquid (we assumed it was water) out. Quite literally when I bit into my piece it squirted water across the table The Pad Thai was just noodles and sauce and was dry The Dragon's Eye sushi tasted very fishy The ambiance was nice and the wait staff were friendly but the food wasn't very good We won't be going back! Just a note: The Mitsuki in Saint Hubert has changed ownership and name but food was still amazing and it's still a BYOW the last time we were there over 3 years ago.

The reason I can't give 5 star is the selection. The selection was so bad you have no tuna in your option. The maki was almost one of the only sushi I could get. Maki with cucumber, maki with avocado, or maki with salmon. They had one I believe in speciality that was avocado cream cheese and goberge. The other option all had shrimp tempura or deep fried. I like avocado and salmon, pretty simple but not offered on the menu. The sushi are good and the water service was really quick. I just wish I could have had a variety of choices. Most sushi place have a different lunch option. It might be a good option to come later for dinner instead.

Truth be told, I practically inhaled Isshin Ramen's famous´Wok Fried Red Miso Ramen' in minutes as…read moreit was so tasty! Each signature bowl always starts in the wok, where they fire up minced pork, garlic and bean sprouts. Added is an assertive blend of red & white miso, sake and other seasonings. Piping hot broth is then poured over a fresh bed of noodles which melds all the flavours perfectly together to give it that unique Isshin smoky taste with veggies to provide that crunch and sweetness to balance it all. A whopping choice of over 15 different types of ramen, as well as seasonal ramens, flavourful vegetarian and vegan options are available. And although ramen is their cornerstone, you cannot miss out on their appetizers! We gleefully shared chicken karaage, dumplings, donburi bowls, and takoyaki over refreshing Japanese beers and also a hybrid sake and beer drink. Finally, you no longer have to cross the bridge over to Brossard to enjoy a hearty bowl of ramen from @ramenisshin - just head to at their new spot in the Plateau! Although they have 4 locations in ON and 2 in QC, you can expect the same uncompromising attention to detail and quality of food, taste, plating, and service at any of them. The biggest challenge in multi-restaurant management is in making sure that you offer a consistent dining experience across all your locations - they nailed it. Perhaps one of the reasons we keep on coming back? In case you were wondering, Ramen Isshin means one heart one ramen. And the 3 ring symbol represents the 3 founders who complement and complete each other. Koji for creating the menu, Jason for the operation and Adam for the marketing. They all share the same vision, to recreate the best ramen experience one bowl at a time - wherever and whenever you taste it! Note: if you plan to come with a big group, make reservations to ensure seating as space is somewhat limited.

Even during peak summer season the restaurant was crowded and even had a line starting to form at peak lunch hour. There are not very many large tables so don't expect a large group to be sitting together. The menu is pretty straightforward with the typical miso, tonkotsu, and shoyu broths. But they even have a tomato broth with Hokato scallops for those more adventurous. We ordered the Tonkotsu Black $19 & the Tonkotsu+ $19. Is it pricey for Ramen? Yes. But was it worth it? Yes. The Tonkotsu Black had a rich broth with prominent garlic oil. The Tonkotsu+ was really the show stopper. With 3 different styles of meat: Smoked pork pastrami, meatballs & chashu. The truffle oil was fragrant and earthy. But the biggest surprise was shiitake mushrooms. They were marinated/seasoned to perfection, with a hint of sweetness. I would've been happy with just a giant bowl of shiitake mushrooms, and truffle oil. The broth was much lighter and delicate than the Tonkotsu Black, yet strong on the truffle. If you're not really a fan of truffle, do not get this. We were tempted to go back again, but we opted to try other restaurants around the downtown area. 10/10 Would go back again! The staff are very friendly and quick. Give it a try! They have multiple locations, especially if you're looking for something new, yet comforting.
