Cute well lit ramen spot in downtown MTL good for family and friends. The service was nice and our food came out in decent timing. We got the repas pour quatre set with végé gyoza et edamame. I got the Jalapeño épicé au poulet with an œuf assaisonné & a coke. I would've gotten the limonade however only boissons gazeuses are included, so be aware of that. The ramen itself was good, the chicken however was a bit dry and that's where they lost half a star. The other half was when I found out gratuity was already included after tipping. I only found this out because I happened to see the restaurant check (the one they give you has that price on there, but it doesn't say tip). Well played. The food was good enough to return for, but not the games.

We got into the city from Ontario and we're starving! We came in and it was empty snd service was fast. Our server was super sweet and energetic! I ordered the usual Tofu App and Shoyo Veggie Ramen. Love this location! For sure my favourite one out of any I have been to!

I've been to many, many ramen restaurants across North America...Kinton Ramen is one of the best. My ramen was delicious : from the seasoning, portion, flavor, it exceeded my expectations. It was especially fulfilling on a cold Montreal day, you should check them out!

Came in late night on a Saturday. Group of 8. Worker tried to turn us away. Big guy. Service was bad. They reminded us about 4 times that the restaurant closes at 12:05 am even though we were told 12:30am. They turned off all the lights in the restaurant right at 12am. I asked the waiter if they had tonkotsu ramen she said "this is a ramen restaurant, we don't have tonkotsu" I then proceeded to order the classic pork ramen with THICK noodles and I received the thin noodles instead. I asked the waitress to confirm for me that my order was correct and again I get a bothered response from the staff and of course she was wrong but didn't want to bother the cooks to make me another bowl of MID level ramen. The place overall was MID I have had better ramen at the food court at the Eaton plaza down the street. I don't recommend this place. Bad experience.

Takoyaki

So we were hungry and had just landed in Montreal. Kinton was relatively close and had great reviews. So we went and both got the spicy ramen. My girl didn't eat hers after a few bites but I powered through -- I was hungry. The meat hit the trifecta -- thin, tough, and dry. The broth was weirdly spicy, like maybe Louisiana hot got in there or something? I don't know but far from expected - it is very yellow.. but yeah, no egg, no mushrooms, no naruto , just two spoons of raw garlic. The noodles were pretty good. Takoyaki was the saving grace here. Honestly, nothing redeeming about this ramen, and to be fair I didn't read the menu and just pointed at the picture.

Miso pork ramen $5.18 with egg $2

Decent quality ramen, with excellent service. Coincidentally, we came here for the $5.18 anniversary special priced ramen. Surprisingly, they were not crazy busy and we were able to be seated within minutes for a table of 2. This location has only been open for a few weeks. I liked that they anticipated that the promotion may make them super busy, and they overstaffed for it. Because of this, service was really good and the restaurant was not packed. Waiters were always friendly, attentive and filling our water. It also helps that there are multiple locations here. On to the food. I had the miso pork ramen and my boyfriend had the spicy garlic ramen. Both were very tasty and flavourful. I loved the depth of the pork broth. I also really enjoyed the buttery pieces of pork, which had the delicious torched taste (although my boyfriend's bowl had a different cut?). I added an egg for $2, which was so worth it (but part of me thinks that it should just be included in the bowl, especially at regular price). The spicy broth was really spicy, we both had difficulty eating it and had to take our time. I'd recommend asking for less spicy if it's possible. I think I liked the miso one more overall. Portion wise, it got me just full and satisfied, but I definitely could have ordered an appetizer or two. But I couldn't justify it because most of the apps cost more than the ramen itself at the promotional price! If you finish your bowl of ramen, including all the broth, you can get a stamp on your stamp card. Once the stamp card is filled, you get to turn it in for a prize. I've been to a few Kintons in Toronto, and I would say that they are comparable (but Toronto is a lot busier). I still remember the garlic chicken karaage ramen special on Monday! Would recommend, and would be back even when it's not on promotion!

The best ramen restaurant in Montreal so far. I tried the spicy pork ramen and they are surprisingly spicier than I expected. Generally Japanese ramen is less spicy than Chinese ramen but Kinton is on par and that was a good surprise. Besides the flavourful and rich soup, another satisfying surprise come from the noodles. They were al dente, which is unlike many Japanese ramen restaurants.

The special weekend ramen was on fire ... Sorry I was on fire.. picked level four spice and I could handle spicy .. not sure I would pick five. Bit it is want too set ur a&&& on fire got for it. Even at that level of spicyness it was packed with flavour. The meat portion is fair and quality is good. Nice that they server alcohol :) The staff was nice and always on top of it.. water ..quick service ..the bill .. and all of it with a smile. I don't think this would be my go to ramen spot but when it's cold out ..is for sure make a stop if it's on my way.

This is my go-to ramen place in downtown Montreal whenever I crave for one :) I love their monthly specials!! But, their original pork ramen is the BEST! The creamy broth and chewy/al-denté thick ramen noodles never disappoint me! The takoyaki was exquisite! It had a soft texture and it was very moist! Highly recommended! You can always rely on Kinton Ramen for a quality noodle experience. Their menu works in a 3 step process: choose your ramen base, choose your topics, and choose your side dish (the last two are optional). Straightforward ordering process. when I went, I got the spicy pork garlic ramen and a ton ton don to complement the noods. And how was the food? GOOD STUFF. The ton ton don's pork was deliciously seasoned, and was a great appetizer while I waited for the main meal. Meanwhile, I enjoyed the spicy garlic pork ramen's rich broth and spicy flavours. The chashu pork had a rich flavour, and was a relatively fatty cut (which I love). You'll definitely notice the GARLIC BREATH afterwards (and if you don't, your partner will!) Only gripe? It's kind of pricy for the amount of food you get. Around $22-25 for a meal after taxes and tips. No problem with the actual food though... enjoy. :)

Came here with hubby for a late-night ramen trip. We got here around 9:20 pm. About 40 minutes before closing time. They seated us right away and took our order. Food came out fairly quick, about 10 for the sides & another 5 minutes later our ramen came out. The gyoza was really good, I think the sauce made a huge difference in flavor. The rice with beef was good too, I remember eating something similar to it growing up. For ramen, I ordered the spicy miso, and my hubby ordered the tonkatsu black special ramen. My ramen tasted OK. but I expect more from the reviews. And My husband's ramen was so bland!!! The broth tasted like they just added oil to the water without any seasoning. I actually added my own broth to my husband's bowl to try to give it some flavor.... maybe we are spoiled coming from the Bay Area, CA - where we have the famous Ramen Dojo in San Mateo, & Ramen House Ryujin in Sacramento, etc. overall, food was not memorable and I wouldn't go back. Service was great though.

Glad to have this Kinton because it's much closer to my apartment than the one further downtown. Kinton has tasty ramen and a nice atmosphere. The spicy garlic pork and miso pork are always solid and lately the cold tsukemen ramen has been perfect for the summer. Kinton is cool because they are constantly having specials. The cold ramens (tsukemen and a roast beef one) are specials for the summer and earlier in the summer they had a great combo that came with fried chicken and black sesame ice cream. They also have drink specials sometimes. I love the homemade lemonade sake soda drink. I really really wish they would bring back the savory dipping ramen they had last fall at their downtown location, it was one of my favorite ramens ever and I haven't seen it anywhere else. Servers are always friendly and the service is pretty quick most of the time. Last time we were there was during Otakuthon and they were completely swamped. They did their best with it though! We didn't have to wait too too long. Will definitely continue coming here!

Even during peak summer season the restaurant was crowded and even had a line starting to form at peak lunch hour. There are not very many large tables so don't expect a large group to be sitting together. The menu is pretty straightforward with the typical miso, tonkotsu, and shoyu broths. But they even have a tomato broth with Hokato scallops for those more adventurous. We ordered the Tonkotsu Black $19 & the Tonkotsu+ $19. Is it pricey for Ramen? Yes. But was it worth it? Yes. The Tonkotsu Black had a rich broth with prominent garlic oil. The Tonkotsu+ was really the show stopper. With 3 different styles of meat: Smoked pork pastrami, meatballs & chashu. The truffle oil was fragrant and earthy. But the biggest surprise was shiitake mushrooms. They were marinated/seasoned to perfection, with a hint of sweetness. I would've been happy with just a giant bowl of shiitake mushrooms, and truffle oil. The broth was much lighter and delicate than the Tonkotsu Black, yet strong on the truffle. If you're not really a fan of truffle, do not get this. We were tempted to go back again, but we opted to try other restaurants around the downtown area. 10/10 Would go back again! The staff are very friendly and quick. Give it a try! They have multiple locations, especially if you're looking for something new, yet comforting.

Once seated, things happen very quickly...it is go, go, go (in the best possible way.) We ordered appetizers first, the tempura green beans with a delicious truffle mayo, gyoza and the tofu salad (they make it fresh every Sunday). Green beans were everyone's fave, but I have to mention the (pickled?) vegetables on the salad. So flavourful! Also tried the egg drop soup which is so tasty. Mains were the salmon tuna bowl, the beef short ribs, the shrimp burger, and 48 hour pork with curry sauce. Everything was wonderful! Finished with their soft serve ice cream, I had the cherry blossom but one of us had the sake, which is a shot of sake poured on top. Amazing! You can even have wasabi or ginger... Tables are tightly situated and there's a cozy bar situation where I sat this time, able to watch the chefs cook right in front of me. The daily specials are posted on their Instagram page, as well as written on pieces of paper around the restaurant. My server quickly helped me to water and a glass of sake. I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. I hope to eat here often, for years to come and am so happy to see this iconic Japanese restaurant still thriving years later.

I thought I had pre-booked a reservation, and we were running late. Parking in this area can be a trick. I dropped my wife off and continued to locate parking. She contacted me and said there was no reservation. I panicked as I parked my truck and sifted through my emails for a confirmation. I hustled the 0.4 miles back to her. When I went in the hostess said it wouldn't be a problem and brought us to a table. My wife later told me she was offered tea while she waited. The waiter was on spot. He knew their menu and provided us with his insights. All the food was Devine. Beautifully laid out and brought out each course in the perfect time. My wife loved the hibachi, she doesn't eat much in general and I do most of the cooking at home. She couldn't get enough of putting items in the hibachi and moving them around. Guess I need a hibachi at home lol. Also my wife is 86 pounds, so she gets cold easy. The hibachi was the perfect personal heater too!! We had a great time together. The ambiance had that perfect Japanese appeal, while still modern. I used to live in Japan so I can be skeptical when it comes to Japanese flair & food. This establishment did not disappoint. So if you are in Montreal, I highly recommend giving this place a go. Side note, pricing is very reasonable considering what is included in packages. And the Saki I had was delicious and looking it up for the going rate they make around $5 per bottle based on what they sell it for and market retail price (place around the corner up charges 110%). So you are more than getting what you pay for in my opinion. And sometimes you just cannot put a price on excellent service! We will definitely be returning when we venture. To Montreal again.
