We got the special ramen and some fries obviously and it was so yummy! We were informed right when we sat that the ramen would take 20 mins or so I guess they were backed up but it was so worth the wait. My husband and I spilt the ramen since we had lunch prior but I was craving it so we had to stop in. Honestly the broth was so rich in flavor and the texture of the noodles were so yummy! I am craving it rn writing about it

Best ramen I've had by far! The portions were just right and the service was quick. Everyone was super nice! The vibe of the restaurant as there, although I wish there was a place to hang your coats. Had to sit on mine due to the chairs being small.

Noodle, broth, toppings, and chashu were all flawless. Service was quick and the ambiance was great. It was the perfect meal on a cold day.

This place has always been my go to ramen near Concordia. They often have specials and the service is super quick! I've had many different dishes here but I definitely recommend the gyozas from there!! The burnt shoyu was a new addition to this place and the only "issue" about it was that it had a looooot of bean sprouts..a lot more than I thought anyway. It was still a great meal though!

My friends and I went here on our trip to Montreal. We wanted "comfort" food and this definitely fit the bill. There were a few small things we would've changed with the food (spicy garlic pork ramen didn't have that strong of a garlic taste, sauce on the gyoza), but otherwise everything was good. We would recommend it.

The ramen here was delicious. The spicy ramen was so full of flavor and just the right amount of spice level. We also got the shoyu ramen which was also very good. But out of the two, the spicy ramen was better. It was raining out, and I liked that the place had a coat rack right at front of the place. It was convenient and kept our table/chairs dry.

Spicy ramen! Gyoza was nothing special, probably needed some soy. Service was ok - they didn't seem too pumped to be there, which is understandable I guess. Nice place tho!

Came on a busy Friday night and only waited a couple minutes. Servers were busy but got our order and drinks efficiently. The ramen had a good flavor and you get a whole egg instead of a half egg which was nice. The chairs weren't the most comfortable since I had a winter coat on and the fabric and the smooth chair made it hard for me not to slide around. I also have a bad back so it was uncomfortable for me to sit for the duration of dinner. However thats a "me" problem not a restaurant issue. We enjoyed the food, but the atmosphere is more of an eat and go vibe, not meant to linger or relax.

The miso ramen was excellent. The noodles were well-cooked, and the broth had a wonderful flavor. The service was great. The restaurant was not very crowded on a Tuesday night. Tables are typical ramen shop stools with flexibility for larger groups. Serving sizes were large, and the prices were reasonable. Well worth a trip.

My boyfriend and I were originally going to go to a Korean BBQ place, but due to the long wait, we decided come here instead since it was right across the street, especially since he is a huge ramen connoisseur. The interior was rather modern, and we were seated immediately. The staff were nice, welcoming, and very attentive. For appetizers, we got the hot karaage (Japanese spicy fried chicken) and takoyaki (octopus balls). The karaage was not crispy and had a thick batter coating. It was covered in a spicy ketchup-based sauce, leaving an odd acidic aftertaste, with Japanese 7-spice sprinkled on top. The takoyaki were somewhat large in size, but also not crispy and soggy even, which was a disappointment. They were, however, generous with mayo, takoyaki sauce, and bonito flakes. For my entrée, I got the Amaze Mazemen, and my boyfriend got their original tonkatsu pork broth ramen. The Amaze Mazemen consisted of warm ramen noodles topped with seaweed strips, canned sweet corn, bonito flakes, 2 grilled pork belly pieces, and a cold poached egg. The ramen noodles were PERFECTLY cooked: soft yet firm, chewy, al dente. The meat was not the most tender or flavorful but decent. There was also some Japanese mayo that melted slightly due to the heat which tied together the flavors to the various toppings. The noodles of the tonkatsu pork broth ramen was also perfectly cooked: however, the broth did not resemble tonkatsu at all. It was more milky than anything as it also appeared a creamy white in color. The ramen egg was overcooked, and the pork was dry. Overall, we were disappointed from the great reviews and would not come back here again. Of the four dishes, the Amaze Mazemen was the best but still not great. I would recommend checking out non-chain ramen places if you are looking for good ramen and appetizers.

Kinton Ramen never disappoints me! Their ramens are always delicious and their staffs were very friendly and polite! They have several locations in downtown and I've tried two of them (the one on Bishop and on Union) Both locations serve amazing ramen! I ordered the original pork ramen with a side of karaage which is my go-to order - Original Pork Ramen: The broth was rich and flavourful! The noodles were cooked perfectly (You can choose between thin or thick noodles) I also loved the seasoned egg! - Karaage : The karaage were crispy, juicy and tender! It is definitely worth a taste! The service was very confused and chaotic. Maybe it was a new server but the owner seemed like she was everywhere and nowhere at once. Liked that they had a variety to choice firm especially four vegetarian ramens. The spicy one was good but a bit greasy. My son enjoyed his miso one. We both ordered the thick noodles and found them undercooked and this from people who like their noodles Al dente. Be both ordered eggs and found them to be inconsistently flavored and cooked. His was custardy runny and mine was cooked through. Not well seasoned. I ordered the limeade and it never came, wasn't on the check. When we ordered the ramune there was massive confusion between the two servers which we didn't understand. The other server thought we were asking what it was. We know what it was we want to order it. Took three tries to communicate that. If the price point were lower I would say this is a good place to grab a quick meal but unfortunately this place is a no for me.

We popped into this ramen shop on a rainy day and it was exactly what we needed! We went at around 3 so it was not very busy. We got the spicy ramen, Shoyu ramen, takoyaki and karaage. The spicy ramen was full of flavor and had a rich flavor and definitely had a huge kick to it. The Shoyu ramen was rich and deep in flavor as well. You can also choose to add eggs, the type of noodles you want and add any other toppings you want. The takoyaki was yummy as well but the unagi sauce was a slightly overwhelming. The karaage was super juicy on the inside and fried perfectly. This is a great ramen shop, definitely give it a try!

Even during peak summer season the restaurant was crowded and even had a line starting to form at peak lunch hour. There are not very many large tables so don't expect a large group to be sitting together. The menu is pretty straightforward with the typical miso, tonkotsu, and shoyu broths. But they even have a tomato broth with Hokato scallops for those more adventurous. We ordered the Tonkotsu Black $19 & the Tonkotsu+ $19. Is it pricey for Ramen? Yes. But was it worth it? Yes. The Tonkotsu Black had a rich broth with prominent garlic oil. The Tonkotsu+ was really the show stopper. With 3 different styles of meat: Smoked pork pastrami, meatballs & chashu. The truffle oil was fragrant and earthy. But the biggest surprise was shiitake mushrooms. They were marinated/seasoned to perfection, with a hint of sweetness. I would've been happy with just a giant bowl of shiitake mushrooms, and truffle oil. The broth was much lighter and delicate than the Tonkotsu Black, yet strong on the truffle. If you're not really a fan of truffle, do not get this. We were tempted to go back again, but we opted to try other restaurants around the downtown area. 10/10 Would go back again! The staff are very friendly and quick. Give it a try! They have multiple locations, especially if you're looking for something new, yet comforting.

I stopped by around 8:45 PM, 15 minutes before they closed, but the staff were so kind and lovely, let me dine in, gave me a free drink on the house, and even told me to take my time and not worry about closing. I ordered the spicy garlic pork ramen with thick noodles, and I was blown away with how flavorful the broth and QQ (chewy) the noodles were. I didn't like the pork that much and found it a bit tough and gamey, but they do have two other types of meat (chicken, beef) as well as a vegetarian option available, as well as seasonal menu specials. If I was at McGill, I'd probably visit this spot a bit too often LOL, and I highly recommend checking them out for their comforting ramen bowls and incredibly kind service!

However, no dipping sauce is provided, all other joints that I've been to will give you a mayo dipping sauce, not here. The Ramen - noodles were perfectly cooked, however honestly package ramen had a better flavor than their Original pork ramen unfortunately. I had expected this rich and creaminess of the pork broth, that was sticky-lipped intensifying, but it was not. This was disappointing and thus can only give 2 stars. I can't say for other noodle type, but original pork ramen needs a lot of work.

Once seated, things happen very quickly...it is go, go, go (in the best possible way.) Mains were the salmon tuna bowl, the beef short ribs, the shrimp burger, and 48 hour pork with curry sauce. Everything was wonderful! I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. I hope to eat here often, for years to come and am so happy to see this iconic Japanese restaurant still thriving years later.

I thought I had pre-booked a reservation, and we were running late. Parking in this area can be a trick. I dropped my wife off and continued to locate parking. She contacted me and said there was no reservation. I panicked as I parked my truck and sifted through my emails for a confirmation. I hustled the 0.4 miles back to her. When I went in the hostess said it wouldn't be a problem and brought us to a table. My wife later told me she was offered tea while she waited. The waiter was on spot. He knew their menu and provided us with his insights. All the food was Devine. Beautifully laid out and brought out each course in the perfect time. My wife loved the hibachi, she doesn't eat much in general and I do most of the cooking at home. She couldn't get enough of putting items in the hibachi and moving them around. And the Saki I had was delicious and looking it up for the going rate they make around $5 per bottle based on what they sell it for and market retail price (place around the corner up charges 110%).
