Kinton still is the place for delicious flavourful Ramen in Laval. Their prices have gone up during COVID but I do appreciate the art of making tare and complex ramen broth is a long and tedious process. Their broth is layered with different flavours. Amazing on one of our cold winter evenings. Ramen does also work exceptionally well as a takeout item how they package it up! My fave is still the spicy chicken kaarage. Large succulent soy, ginger morsels of fried chicken in their soup broth. Heck yes! Still the benchmark for ramen in Laval! Ordering online is easy and they do have promos from time to time!

Have you ever asked for spice hoping you'll actually get some heat and wound up thoroughly dissapointed?  Well, not here!  As lovers of everything caliente we were pleasantly surprised to find incredible flavour in this great broth.  We also needed to try the sesame cheesecake because... Well it was black (it was also pretty good )

First time here. Wait was long but definitely worth it! The prices are very good. Big portions and inexpensive add-ons. The egg, noodles, pork, and broth were delicious.

Yummm! This place was amazing. Clean, quick/ friendly service and great food! Bathrooms were so clean as well as the restaurant and kitchen as you can see it from your seat. Service was fast and food was hot, fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back when visiting Canada.

Tried different ramen (original, spicy garlic and shoyu), also tried karaage with garlic mayonnaise sauce. Tasty and quick service!

Finally a proper ramen place in Laval! Kinton may be a franchise but they definitely have a great menu catered to the local population. I've had their ramen a few times and it's actually pretty decent. The bowls are a tad small and a tad pricey but I do strongly recommend the experience to newcomers. What I personally really enjoy are the other menu items they have. They have their fair share of hot & cold appetizers and I'm a HUGE fan of their karaage (Japanese style fried chicken) and pork dumplings! Some items though aren't worth the price. Check pictures accordingly. This location is very modern and slick. They greet you with a loud irasshaimase!!!!! Service is ALWAYS quick and friendly. Good place for a drink & eat with colleagues or friends.

So last Friday I had an appointment with apple store to fix my phone at the mall, but I had over 2 hours to spare before the appointment, so I went ahead and got into Kinton Ramen, staff was very kind and welcoming, I had the spicy garlic pork with thick noodles, with a seasoned egg inside as extra, before my soup arrived I was handed my hot karaage, chicken was juicy and tender with a nice kick on the spicy level, then my soup arrived, and let me tell, visually looked stunning, very good portion, and the taste was phenomenal, overall I was super satisfied, that today I ordered the same thing through Uber eats at my workplace, and the portion on the ramen did not disappoint, looking forward to become a regular there.

Two people on late Sunday excursion feeling hungry. I think this was a great time to drop in. We were greeted by a chant from the staff upon entering. Plenty of room to sit. First time here so we asked to explain the concept. Choose your meat, your broth, your noodles and any addons. It's served to you quite quickly. Very tasty dish. We chose different meats. Both great dishes. I loved the marinated egg. We'll be back

Combos come with your choice of meat, your choice of rice or vermicelli, salad, a spring roll and an appetizer vegetable soup. I got the chicken combo with vermicelli ($18) while my husband got the beef combo with rice ($19). The vegetable soup was mostly broth and only contained a single broccoli floret, a single cauliflower floret and a single slice of carrot. Oh and some green onions, lol. However, the broth was very flavourful. We each got 3 sizeable pieces of meat. Mine where chicken thighs. I do prefer lean breast meat to the fattier thigh meat, but they did trim off the fat, so the meat at least wasn't gristley. The marinade was delicious. The chicken was really flavourful. I had a taste of my husband's beef and it was tender and delicious. I did notice some gristley bits to the beef though. The vermicelli was nicely cooked. The spring roll was hot right out of the fryer and crunchy on the outside. The salad had too many raw bean sprouts for my liking. It also has lettuce, pickled carrots, and daikon. And also mint leaves. We both enjoyed our meal. Service was pleasant. The place was packed when we arrived, but by the time we left it had completely cleared out. Decor is modern and hip looking, lol. Clientele seemed to skew young, at least younger than my husband and I, haha. The restaurant is in a plaza and there's free parking in the plaza parking lot. Each signature bowl always starts in the wok, where they fire up minced pork, garlic and bean sprouts. Added is an assertive blend of red & white miso, sake and other seasonings. Piping hot broth is then poured over a fresh bed of noodles which melds all the flavours perfectly together to give it that unique Isshin smoky taste with veggies to provide that crunch and sweetness to balance it all. A whopping choice of over 15 different types of ramen, as well as seasonal ramens, flavourful vegetarian and vegan options are available. And although ramen is their cornerstone, you cannot miss out on their appetizers! We gleefully shared chicken karaage, dumplings, donburi bowls, and takoyaki over refreshing Japanese beers and also a hybrid sake and beer drink. Finally, you no longer have to cross the bridge over to Brossard to enjoy a hearty bowl of ramen from @ramenisshin - just head to at their new spot in the Plateau! Although they have 4 locations in ON and 2 in QC, you can expect the same uncompromising attention to detail and quality of food, taste, plating, and service at any of them. The biggest challenge in multi-restaurant management is in making sure that you offer a consistent dining experience across all your locations - they nailed it. Perhaps one of the reasons we keep on coming back? In case you were wondering, Ramen Isshin means one heart one ramen. And the 3 ring symbol represents the 3 founders who complement and complete each other. Koji for creating the menu, Jason for the operation and Adam for the marketing. They all share the same vision, to recreate the best ramen experience one bowl at a time - wherever and whenever you taste it! Note: if you plan to come with a big group, make reservations to ensure seating as space is somewhat limited.

Even during peak summer season the restaurant was crowded and even had a line starting to form at peak lunch hour. There are not very many large tables so don't expect a large group to be sitting together. The menu is pretty straightforward with the typical miso, tonkotsu, and shoyu broths. But they even have a tomato broth with Hokato scallops for those more adventurous. We ordered the Tonkotsu Black $19 & the Tonkotsu+ $19. Is it pricey for Ramen? Yes. But was it worth it? Yes. The Tonkotsu Black had a rich broth with prominent garlic oil. The Tonkotsu+ was really the show stopper. With 3 different styles of meat: Smoked pork pastrami, meatballs & chashu. The truffle oil was fragrant and earthy. But the biggest surprise was shiitake mushrooms. They were marinated/seasoned to perfection, with a hint of sweetness. I would've been happy with just a giant bowl of shiitake mushrooms, and truffle oil. The broth was much lighter and delicate than the Tonkotsu Black, yet strong on the truffle. If you're not really a fan of truffle, do not get this. We were tempted to go back again, but we opted to try other restaurants around the downtown area. 10/10 Would go back again! Short ribs were extremely fatty and chewy and the seasoning was bland. Short ribs on no bone Was very fatty and chewy and the way it was cut was like it was cut by hand not even made it hard to grill. Ox tongue Had same seasoning as the short ribs. Not much flavor in the sauce. It was ok nothing special. Pork belly Was cut so small made it hard to grill properly. No seasoning on the pork belly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it.
