Speeds quite good (after all this is HK). Wifi also works outside in the courtyard. - Power at some of the tables, including USB outlets too. - Very spacious (which seems like a luxury in HK) - Outdoor Courtyard. Which is nice in the cooler months. And a lot of people overlook it so it's a nice quiet work space. - Pet friendly. There's even a puppachino for the pets. - Good food also. I like the pasta here. - Cheap co-working space upstairs (which may or may not be related). But they use the same bathrooms anyway.

Also, their coffee is less acidic too. I mean there's not a lot of good coffee in hk. One more thing I like about this place is that they have a lot of milk options. I just got the cappuccino, and it was a good cappuccino. It was very smooth and didn't taste burnt. Burnt coffee is the cardinal sin of baristas. Anyway, I got here at around 10:30 and connected to Wi-Fi. The internet is really slow here. Within an hour, the place was packed, and people were standing waiting for seats to be free. While I was sitting by myself with my cappuccino waiting for my video to download from the slow internet. Were people giving me side eyes? Absolutely. But I got there early. For the reason that I came to The Cupping Room, this is not a great place to work, but it's ok if you need a place. It would probably be better in the afternoon when people aren't brunching.

Not long after I got in, 8:55 AM on Sunday, people started coming in droves. In fact, 15 minutes after I arrived, the place was almost full. For my breakfast, I ordered an iced green tea and the Eggs, Chorizo, Avocado and Toast. The eggs were perfectly poached and matched well with the salty chorizo. The avocados were also a nice touch. As for the tea, although I was not wowed, the presentation was quite good. On my first trio here, I also had the fortune of trying the latte which was very good. I loveeee avocados in all forms....in tortilla soup, fried, sliced in burgers, homemade guac dip, and straight from a raw cut half sprinkled with sea salt. Just throw them at my face. I'll eat it. So I loved the combination of avocado diced with almonds, alfalfa sprouts, thinly sliced radish, and whatever else magic was on there. All that covered over one piece of sliced bread. The other slice had a perfect poached egg. A bite of egg and a forkful of avocado mix was just scrumptious. I will have to recreate that at home. Iced soy vanilla latte was dynamite! I think it kept me up while adjusting to time change since it was day 2 of traveling. Lastly, had to go with a take away dessert. The buttery baked fig dessert was gone in 4 bites. The cafe serves a general western fare with Japanese twists and its coffee is Japanese UCC coffee. Sogo Cafe has sets during breakfast, lunch, tea time and dinner, so basically all day. Their breakfast sets are always great to start the day with toast, bacon, and eggs made to your liking among others. For lunch and dinner, you can expect wagyu, tenderloin etc to be one of the set meals. Their steaks are wonderfully tender and come with a lot of steamed vegetables to make sure that it's a balanced diet. During afternoons, they do great high tea sets for two with a good balance between the savories and the sweets. Examples of savories include finger sandwiches and smoked salon on toast, and there are mini cakes and scones to finish it off. Their a la carte menu is great too. I don't normally like sandwiches, but their club sandwiches are definitely a winner. They're chocked full of egg, ham, tomato and lettuce and it's extremely filling! Their bread pudding is worth a mention as well. It takes about fifteen minutes of preparation time, but it's worth the wait. The pudding comes out steaming hot (don't even think about touching the dish) and is simply heavenly. It's sweet and buttery, and I'm craving one as we speak! My mother and I are huge fans of UCC coffee, which they brew here, so it goes without saying that we adore their coffee! We've tried their special teas quite a few times, and while they smell divine, they taste pretty ordinary. Definitely drop by at the Sogo Cafe next time you're doing some shopping at Sogo. It's not cheap, per say, but not outrageous either. The environment of the restaurant is cosy and service is good too.
