I was a bit torn in my decision as I really wanted to try the bagel (which I heard was fantastic) but I also wanted to try some sourdough. I decided to go for the sourdough. Buttery and crunchy, nice! My only qualm is that I wish the shrimp avocado sandwich had some mayo or some aioli cream, to add some flavor. While it tasted fresh, I felt some "kick" was missing. The beef burger was super and juicy. Can't wait to try the others!

As for food, their salad or sandwich sets come with a soup, main course (build your own salad/sandwich), and a drink. Prices range between $60-$80. Quality-wise, I would say their sandwiches are not bad, comparable to Subway sandwiches, but their salads still have a long way to go. The salads basically share the exact same ingredients as a sandwich, but put into a bowl instead of between two pieces of breads. Some improvements in the salads would be nice! In general, I'm glad to have a salad/ sandwhich place in the area finally! The people working there are also really nice and helpful.

I have been here twice and have both times ordered the pork which is traditional version of the sandwich. They also have some interesting drink choices which are all Vietnamese. You can order a Vietnamese beer to go with your sandwich, line soda, or a Vietnamese coffee. The banh mi here is very good. The french bread is on point. The pate has a nice creamy texture and is not gamy. They put scallions in there sandwich. I enjoyed it but this may not be for everyone. If I wrote this review after my first visit I would say that this is the best banh mi O have had in Hon Kong. However, the second time around the bread wasn't as fresh and didn't have the crunchy exterior that I hope for in a baguette. This is probably because I had the sandwich close to dinner time. I will definitely come back when I am craving a banh mi.

Banh Mi, is a vietnamese sandwich that includes vietnamese cold cuts, vietnamese sausages, pickled carrots, cilantro and a few more secret ingredients all in between a light airy baguette toasted to perfection. My love for these bad boys started in the states. Coming to Hong Kong, I struggled to find a place that did it right. Other places would have really doughy baguettes, or they would throw in some Chinese ingredients to make it more marketable to locals? I'm not sure, but whatever it is, it ain't good. A friend brought me here after hearing me go on and on about how a perfect Banh Mi is supposed to taste like. THANK GOODNESS!!! There are only two people that work in this little shop. Aside from sandwiches, they also sell some dried Vietnamese goods. You will find Pho noodles ready to be made. You can also find some special flavored instant noodles to try at home. Some people have raved about their garlic bread as well but I have yet to try. Drinks are available too, but not a large variety. There are two stools for those who want to eat there. The ambiance isn't too great, but I guess some like to eat the sandwich right away...I don't blame them. =)

Tim Kee specialize in making Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches. It's a bit difficult to decide what to order once you're inside because there is no English menu. I was lucky to have a young couple translate for me while I was in the quaint restaurant. I order a large pork sandwich. The owner picked up a large bun a placed it into an ancient oven. It came out and he carefully added carrots, cucumbers, and sauce. The flavor was just right, and the baguette was crispy and flaky on the outside. There are also some Vietnamese groceries available in the restaurant. It's not a large selection, but they have the basics for simple meals. This a perfect location for me when I want something quick and easy to pick up. The sandwiches would also be great of a picnic on the waterfront. They are not comparable to bahn mi sandwiches in Vietnam or the U.S., but they're pretty good for Hong Kong and will save me from cooking a few nights. While waiting for my sandwiches, I was looking at the various media coverage and discovered that there are actually 4 or 5 different sandwich choices. Next time I'll try the point and choose method, and ask for extra sauce on the side.

Since we live in the Silicon Valley and have had our fair share of banh mi, we were very tempted to try it and to see if it is as good as the sandwiches back home. Both of us ordered a sandwich and brought it back to our hotel, which is just a few steps away from this place. The banh mi was actually pretty good. Not bad considering that Vietnamese food isn't expected to be good in Hong Kong. It just wasn't as good as it is back home. Also, it was a little bit expensive. However, no one was fazed as there was a pretty long line. It is because this particular location was featured on one of the local shows on TVB. Hence when I came across Vuong's (The 華僑 name is "Martin Wong" - 馬丁王), I was immediately curious. My love of banh mi got me through the door, but similarly to other Vietnamese spots, all I got was a mouthful of disappointment. Option #1 is their version of dac biet, a sort of house special that includes typical items like pickled veggies and pate, but also some really strange additions like slices of tomato and pork floss. More importantly the toasted baguette was a bit too thick, which practically ruined the sandwich. I had a few more bites before I succumbed to the notion I wasn't going to finish the banh mi. It really was that bad. So I gave them another shot. I went with chicken and pork and it was loaded with cucumbers and tomatoes. The bread was a little more tolerable this time around, but the shredded carrots, tomatoes, and cucumber was just too much like a salad in a sandwich. The meat was skimpy, but that is to be expected in HK. Speaking of salads, they have a whole section of the menu dedicated to it, but I haven't had any yet. Their saving grace -- the prices are fairly affordable. It's not exactly Viet cheap, but it's also in Jordan where nothing is terribly expensive. I'm not sure if I'll be back to Vuong's anytime soon, but I am sure there are better options out there. I'm counting on it.

Mm... soft meat. They also sell salads, craft beers (yesssss), special drinks, and desserts (which they partnered with a local source) I was sad that they didn't have any slow-cooked ribs the day I went, but that gives me a reason to come back! And they have a happy hour from 6-9pm: if you order any craft beer, you get 50% off on their snack menu. Whaaat. More reason for me to come back! They have only 4 stools to sit right at their kiosk, but do not fret, there are plenty of chairs around the area, but no table. They also provide plastic gloves for you to eat with. Neat. I waited about.. 10 minutes for my food? I think it was fairly worth it. I wish I could drink their craft beers during lunch time and go back to work...
