My friend suggested this place as she saw an online article for afternoon tea for two for HKD88…read more(about USD11). That's a great price, and I figure if even the food is awful, it's still not much more than two drinks. As others said, this place is somewhat a hidden gem. Its entrance is a narrow commercial building entrance on Nathan Road, right by Hillwood Road, closer to Jordan than TST. Located on the second floor, the big windows look out to verdant shades, totally blocking out the hustle and bustle outside. The price of afternoon tea has increased, but at HKD128, still a fair price if no longer a steal. We ordered flavored fresh-squeezed lemonades (or you can choose tea, coffee or soda), and our food arrived on a wooden board: two hamburger sliders, two salmon croissants, bacon wrapped asparagus, mac & cheese, BBQ fries and brownies. All is quite tasty except for the mac & cheese, which I find really bland. Applegreen bills itself as offering Californian cuisine. Their menu has lots of salad, and pasta ranging from carbonara to tequila lime chicken to mentaiko. There are also carne asado quesadilla, Jamaican chicken wings, jambalaya flatbread and more, just to show how international the menu is.

For Hong Kong, this restaurant is quite spacious. I've always been able to grab a seat every time I came in the afternoon. I've tried many different dishes here and usually it doesn't disappoint! What I like the most about Applegreen is that they're not just a salad house. They have a pretty wide array of dishes and drinks on the menu. But of course, if you want to eat "healthier", they have plenty of salads to choose from. Most of their salad has "half" servings, which is actually misleading. Their half portion is enough for 2-3 people if you order it with a second or third dish. Their "full" serving of the salad is humongous. Probably more suited for 3-5 people. Just be warned! Also as a tip, if you order salad you can request FREE banana bread to go with it. For their other dishes, they have your typical pastas, but what I like is their Flatbreads. Think of it as a very thin crust pizza. Quite tasty and large in portion. They also have some more unique items from their varying breakfast menu, such as honey glazed bacon, eggs benedict, or other experimental items. As for their drinks, most of their tea-juices have unlimited refill! Surprisingly an uncommon thing in Hong Kong. Applegreen is moderately priced. But for the portion and quality, its a pretty good deal. Its also conveniently located by the Jordan MTR station.

I'd walk past this place many times but never tried it out as it always seemed busy during the lunch hour. As chance would have it, a friend and I decided to meet up for lunch and we picked Cafeholic due to the proximity to our offices. When we arrived, there was already several parties waiting in line ahead of us. We received a number from the front desk and waited about 10 minutes before we were called for a table. The table setting is simple, with utensils in a small basket on the side and a stack of napkins (YES A RARITY IN HONG KONG), salt and pepper, and a tall bottle of mint water with water glasses. I love this as it eliminates the need to ask for refills of water in a busy restaurant (something I wish Tsui Wah would do too as flagging their servers is such a chore). After we made our lunch selections from their lunch set menu, two bowls of soup appeared in one minute. Ta da! I think it was cream of carrot. Hearty and filling, good for a cold winter day. Within 15 minutes, our mains were served - Deep fried chicken with Japanese curry and Omurice and a side salad. Wow. Presentation was good and portion size quite generous. The dressing for the side salad was good too! Not just your plain balsamic vinaigrette. I wanted more! This all for HK$79, with coffee/milk tea/lemon tea. My wallet and tummy are happy! Will be back to try the other items on the menu. They also have a la carte during dinner.

Great spot for some healthy lunchtime choices…read more Lunch deal was a bit pricier than normal, but featured some nice choices. Light salads through to small pasta and egg dishes, a broad selection. Service was friendly and attentive. Food came out fast, and in sequence. There was no hurry up at the end of the meal - the staff topped up my tea, encouraging me to linger. I had the soup of the day - mushroom - which was properly seasoned and tasted delicious. My main was the Prawn and Poached Egg Pasta on chilli oil linguine. A hit with me, and sized so that you don't feel bloated at the end of the meal. The lunch set included a choice of teas - just a teabag serving, topped up graciously by the staff. Happy to go back or recommend to others.

The service was quick and friendly. I ordered the eggs benedict with salmon and they came with toasted brioche instead of English muffins which although still tasted delicious was not quite the same. The scrambled eggs were stacked high so make sure you are hungry! I tried their vanilla hazelnut milkshake which was really good (not overly nutty) and they have a good mix of coffees and fresh juices on their menu.

It has been such an amazing experience visiting families in Hong Kong and my Uncle who is a teacher…read morethere did some research and decided on this place after reading some good reviews and it did not disappoint! Everything was absolutely stunning! From the atmosphere to the food to the quality of the food. We loved it. We got the dinner for 4 when there was 5 of us but my son is only 9 so he doesn't really eat much. Plus it was more than enough food for the 5 of us. Especially in Hong Kong, if you're still hungry, you can always save some room for some Chinese traditional dessert too. So this meal for 4 was perfect for the 5 of us. We got to choose 3 appetizers so we got the truffle fries with parmesan cheese, mango shrimp salad and salted egg calamari. Entree we get to choose 2 so we picked the Salmon Wellington and Sirloin steak with purple potatoes. Pasta we can also picked 2 which was the seafood risotto and spaghetti with giant prawns. We also got half a dozen of raw oysters for appetizers and the meal came with some desserts. Everything was phenomenal. It was a bit pricey bc we paid around $1800 and the service could be better. You want to serve as an upscale Italian restaurant then you also have to provide a little more better service. I understand that it is not easy but with such a beautiful atmosphere and such phenomenal food, wouldn't you WANT to differentiate yourself by giving a little more better service? That's the reason why I took a star away. I didn't mind paying $1800 at all but I would have happily given a full 5 star is the staff had given a better experience. Other than that, the food, the atmosphere was absolutely stunning!

With the crop of thoughtfully designed cafes popping up within the Kwun Tong factory scene, I'm…read moresuper excited to try this cafe, which is nestled within a factory building on a busy street. It's not too hard to find, as there are plenty of signage leading from the front of the industrial looking building. After a short flight of stairs, you turn into the well decorated, comfortable interior of the cafe that's a nice escape from the hustle and bustle outside. On the weekday afternoon I was there, the place was packed with people on their lunch break from their offices. Nevertheless, I was able to get a table. The place was well lit, with a clean design that feels quite comfortable even when it's packed. I ordered the lunch set, which comes with soup (cream of mushroom), garlic bread, an entree of your choice and a drink (ranges from ~HKD 60 - 120ish, which isn't bad at all!) I also really appreciated that they had a designated healthy entree option (with the number of calories listed), since I'm trying to eat healthy. The mushroom soup was decent and tastes homemade, although could be a little thicker in my opinion. I got the healthy entree option, which is brown rice with grilled chicken and an okra salad. The okra gave the salad such a nice refreshing touch in terms of novelty, and was well dressed. Chicken could be a tad bit more juicy but had the delicious grilled flavor, and I enjoyed the sesame-based sauce on it - plus I actually felt super healthy eating it! Overall, a nice, affordable spot for a meal in a comfortable space! Excited to see how the restaurant scene blossoms in the future in this area. PS: they're currently running a promotion that gives you discounts if you have the number 6 on your HKID card (6 being similar in pronunciation as the word deer in Cantonese), as well as if you interact with their Facebook page.

My rating is based on the following: Food: 4 stars Atmosphere: 3.5 stars Value: 5 stars for the lunch set The ice tea here is fantastic and will always order that with my lunch. It isn't too sweet and has hint of orange flavor to it. The salad on the other hand I would skip. The salad isn't dressed very well and the dressing is too sweet for my taste. The soup is a much better option. The bread that it is paired with is perfect for dipping in the soup. I haven't tried all the mains but the ones that I have tried are all quite good. The real standout is the truffle and mushroom pasta. I'm a huge black truffle fan and the flavor of the truffle really comes through. Given the price of the lunch set this is a really good deal. The hamburger is also good and so is the duck.

A cute, quaint little corner in the city plaza with lots of greens outside of the restaurant. I went on a sunday afternoon, seems to be a busy time where everyone is out for brunch. The wait is about 15 to 20 min for a table for 3. But you can grab your ticket at the automatic ticketing and leave your phone number with them, and head out to walk around the mail. They will give you an auto call to let you know your seats will be ready at 3 tables wait, which I found it pretty awesome and efficient, rather then just purely waiting and waste time. Food is great, had their mushroom soup and cucumber salad, chanterelle and spinach pizza and fish fillet with ink bun burger. Oh and their blueberry cheese cake and matcha cake. They are all great, minus the fries. Portion are generous, and the salad and soup are gourmet and not just slap on veggie or soup from cans. Mushroom soups are from mushroom puree and the cucumber salad are dressing with citrus dressing that are quite refreshing! I like their attention to detail on even just appetizers and drinks ( iced tea) , are well prepared. Must return for another meal soon!
