They guys at Uberaport Performance are amazing. Always communicating with whatever my Subie needs. Super knowledgeable call things Subaru related, even non-subaru related. They are even willing to walk me through everything they did. Super affordable and won't try to upsell you.

I needed a complete engine diagnostic and eventually rebuild; I first took it to Subaru of Huntington Beach where I was quoted an astronomical price of $14,000 to tear down the block and diagnosis the problem. I was worried at first, but after a few calls to Kevin I drove down to his shop. After speaking with Kevin and Kelly I knew my 2013 Subaru WRX STI hatch was going to be in good hands. We discussed what was needed, the issue with the motor (Piston Rod Bearing). Kevin and Kelly explained all the parts that would be needed, communicated with me all the steps along the way. I ended up needing a engine rebuild, so I decided to upgrade the pistons, rods, bearings, etc. Upon inspection and having the motor removed, they called me to let me know I should replace the clutch and flywheel as it was due. They provided honest feedback and reasoning for using one part over a different one I inquired about. They provided a detailed part list, and the process of which to break in the motor. They were firm with the first couple of oil changes and diagnosis the new build after 500 miles. I have the car back on the road and the engine and clutch is running great. I have plans to continue to build my Subaru and know that I am valued and trust Kevin and Kelly with my build. It's rare to find a shop that will be upfront and honest with you about what you should and shouldn't do. They advised me on parts I should avoid and how to maintain and service my motor for peak performance as well as reliability. Both guys really know their Subaru's. So happy I found this shop.

I worked with Kevin. He tuned the COBBB map for my 2018 WRX. It's a relief after tunning, my car feels as smooth as butter. I throttle up to 6 to 7000 rpm without a tiny struggle. My DAM dropped down to. 875 a couple times but Kevin had no problem responding to my issue and re-tuned my car to where it settled. I don't mind coming back to work on my car in the future.

    Turbo seepage

I really wanted these guys to be THE SUBIE shop since they are local, but they really aren't. Countless oversights, multiple mistakes on all ends. Kevin first helped me with inspection and gave me a good list of what needed to be done. I made appointment weeks ahead since they were busy, gave them a confirmation on the work that needed to be done. Upon arriving for drop off on a Friday morning I was passed on to Kelly, somewhat confused considering Kevin said on inspection he would be doing the work, but whatever went with it they are very kind and easy to talk to. They sent me a list of confirmed work being done that they texted me the labor/parts and work being done and Kelly wrote on a post it note while we walked around car. Seems great, car was to be done by Monday morning. It wasn't and they did not reach out to me, I had to call them. Said maybe later Monday that some things were taking longer than anticipated but that they would call back, cool okay stuff happens. Communication/ honesty is key in these industries. I called Tuesday afternoon since they never called back and said it would be ready by Wednesday but something seemed off they had another excuse. Wednesday morning I was already on my way when they called to see what was the issue, told me car is ready. Awesome! Until I got there... looked over receipt and turbo drain hose that was my biggest issue from oil leak was not replaced, when I asked about why wasn't it done, he told me "I wrote all the work on my sticky note and I don't have that on here." BUT I GOT CHARGED AN HOUR OF LABOR @ $200/hr for the heat shield that that was supposed to get installed, while being in that area to change turbo drain line.... I was upset. BUT IT GETS WORSE . Apparently they left my car in the shop with windows down, they have cats. Well their cat peed in my car throughout the weekend multiple times and areas on my STI blue suede interior and only telling me this once I showed up in person because it was inevitable. Now it's making sense as to why my car took longer than expected.....To top it off I am very allergic to cats, making my car unbearable to be in. Not an odor that can be eliminated very easily even if you know where the urine is. Not to mention I still had to go to Aristocrat autosports to get the turbo drain line(they finished it in less then an hour). Also, upon checking my oil afterwards it was a quart of oil low.... They did valve covers and did not even check/refill oil.THE ONLY honorable part out of this situation and reason for 2 stars is they did cover a full interior detail, but now it's summer and the heat is just reigniting the odor still lingering months later. Really wanted to like this place but I cannot recommend this experience or place to anyone for reference I have a bugeye Subaru. You have been warned, go somewhere else please. They didn't even clean the things they took off to get to turbo, everything touched was covered in dirt/oil. Hoses were brand new when dropped off and just, absolutely filthy afterwards. Little things like that and pcv crossover had been freshly painted white and just had scratches and flaked paint all over, not a deal breaker.... Just seemed careless and sloppy This next part might not even be related but within 2 months my turbo started seeping sludge after this(I have AOS) there should be NO blowby, things happen but this just seems too coincidental. I' should have done things myself like usual and will for future. Stay away!!

I made the EASIEST mistake known to cars, and they could of easily overcharged me, but didn't. And honestly for that, I am so grateful. I didn't make the best first impression, but they did. My request went through the Yelp Project page first and Jose was very fast with his response. He told me I could come in on a Friday morning as a walk in. Gino who took care of my intake was very friendly and made me feel welcome. They also had a comfy waiting area stocked with complimentary coffee and snacks, but I didn't need to wait long because I was out of there within an hour, oil changed and tires rotated. Their prices are fair and they accept both credit card and cash/Zelle (if you want to avoid the 3% credit card surcharge). During the oil change they also noted some things that will need repair, but weren't pushy with their recommendations. For that I am very appreciative, and will most definitely come back for their continued services.

I dropped my truck off on Saturday, March 14th at 9:00 AM. Around 2:30 PM, I received a call that the four tires I requested to have replaced was ready for pick up. After paying $1,061.57 for the tires and labor, I drove off the lot only for my truck to begin violently shaking, forcing me to pull over immediately. I contacted my husband, who came to assist, but the truck was undrivable. I returned to Stress Free Auto Care and explained the situation. At that point, my husband was already waiting for a tow truck. Instead of addressing the issue, we were told they were closing and would not inspect the vehicle until Monday. I could hear the mechanic complaining that he was tired and didn't want to wait around when the manager went to speak to him. I specifically asked if anyone actually drove my truck to test it and was told no they did not road test it. Obviously. Due to the poor customer service and urgency of the situation, we had the truck towed to Toyota of Orange. After inspection, we were informed that the lug nuts had been grossly over-tightened, three were broken and one was missing entirely. This was not a minor mistake; it caused significant damage to the wheel components and created a serious safety hazard. Proper torque is a basic standard that any competent shop should follow, yet it was clearly ignored. No one from Stress Free Auto Care contacted us at any point the following week. After Toyota kept the truck for a week and a half, we were left with a repair bill of $3,332.03. My husband sent a certified letter to Stress Free Auto Care, including documentation of the damages and requesting reimbursement. The manager eventually responded, offering to reimburse only the cost of the tires without acknowledging the additional damages or expenses incurred. As a result, we have filed a lawsuit to recover our losses. I strongly caution anyone to use Stress Free and to choose a business that values safety, accountability, and professional standards.

After explaining the issue, I was told they would diagnose the problem and call me with their findings. A few hours later, I called for an update and was told they had found a parasitic battery drain and needed to run additional tests. Later that day, they called back and said the problem was simply a faulty battery and that replacing it would solve the issue. I approved the repair, which ended up costing about $430 for the battery. After picking up the car, I immediately noticed that some of the electronics were not working correctly and it still felt like the battery was being drained. Because the original diagnosis didn't seem to match the symptoms, I took the vehicle to Al's Electric Repair in Anaheim, a shop that had successfully fixed an electrical issue on another vehicle of mine. Al's quickly identified a parasitic drain caused by a camera installed inside the cabin. Once they repaired the drain, the electrical issues disappeared and the car has been running properly ever since. What concerns me is that the first shop initially told me they had found a parasitic drain, but later concluded that the battery was the only problem. Whether the battery needed replacement or not, the actual drain remained and was causing the issues I brought the car in for. Based on my experience, Al's Electric Repair accurately diagnosed and repaired the problem, and they have now successfully resolved electrical issues on two of my vehicles.
