I first met Ubaldo in 2015 when he was contracted by a well known window manufacturer to replace 30 window in our 1950's ranch house. He was punctual, professional and kind, but what impressed me the most was his craftsmanship. There was a lot of custom interior woodwork and crown moulding that had to be rebuilt because we chose new construction windows and this wasn't disclosed by the company when he was assigned the job. He was a total champ though, rolled up his sleeves, purchased the materials and got to work. He had two giant bay windows to frame out and he was able to match our homes existing trim perfectly. I also remember him rigging custom tarps to work under during a week of rainstorms in February so he could finish the job on time. He almost exclusively tackled that job by himself. He was impressive.
Five years later we were ready to update the kitchen and he was the first call I made. He told me he had gotten his contractors license and was busy but would come to the house to see what we were thinking. We agreed to have him replace the counters, cooktop, sink and dishwasher and once again, he exceeded our expectations. I had a chance on this job to work much more directly with him as he was the GC, and he patiently guided me through the ins and outs of materials (we choose quartz), tiles (he met me at more than one store) and the pros and cons of different style sinks. Along the way we encountered an electrical upgrade was needed, and he took care of it. The lower cabinets needed to be leveled, done. I changed my mind on something, and he made it happen.
We are really excited about the kitchen. It no doubt added far more value to the home than we spent and I have Ubaldo to thank for that. He was awesome, reliable, a great communicator, and trustworthy. I will hire UBA Construction again for our next upgrade (or the addition I dream about ). read more
