The service at the post office is not good unless you can come there to get something done. However if you are a person that for some reason( medical, etc.) Or have no one to take care of your problem for you, you are out of luck. Phone questions, huh!, you are just out of luck. Either there no answer or the phone just rings until you get a busy signal. It's just a waste of time. Atleast UPS answers the phone and gives you the best phone service the can give. Every time I come into this post office. I wait for at least an hour. There is always 1 person working while the line is 10, 15, 20 ppl long. It's infuriating to wait in line then to be told "oh, go to the window down there, they will help you." This just happened to me the other day as I was trying to pick up mail. Come to find out they couldn't find my mail and took my name and number in hopes it would be delivered on Friday. I'm here Saturday and yet again, it's only 1 person with a long line. No additional person to help me with mail pick up and advised to go wait and line. This postal service location needs to do better. First time going to this location. It's a nice convenient full service post office that's open until 3pm on Saturdays. The only one in the area open this late if you can't get to the others ones by 1pm. The line was a little long but moved quickly with three tellers working. They all offered fast friendly service to get people in and out. I'll definitely come here again. read more

WORST USPS TO GO TO, supposed to be open at 8 and no one opens the front desk this is ridiculous

One of the most unprofessional post offices I have been to. Opening hours show as 0800. I get there at 0755, the office did not open until 0845. There was a long line, and I was the second in line. My niece received a money order on Thursday, but the machine malfunctioned, and the staff was unable to print her money order, a receipt, or any proof that she had paid $1,400.00. The supervisor told her they would call the IT department, but they didn't answer, so she should come back on Friday. Friday comes, and the supervisor tells her it will take a while because she doesn't know if the IT department is open. The IT department was closed on weekends, so the supervisor said she would call on Monday to let her know when the money order was ready. Monday came, and there was still no call, no receipt, or proof that she had paid $1,400 for a money order. On Tuesday, I accompanied her to ensure she received her money order, and that's the day they didn't open until 0845. The clerk called the supervisor, and the supervisor said to come back after 0900. We waited until then, and nothing happened, so I asked the clerk to call the supervisor, which she did. The supervisor said she was working on it and then hung up. Another 30 minutes passed, and I asked the clerk to call the supervisor again and check on the status. The clerk calls the supervisor again and hands me the phone. I asked the supervisor how much longer, and she said, "I already told you it's going to take a while," and then she hung up on me. By then, it is 1030 am and we have not received the money order or even seen the supervisor. She finally shows up, doesn't even apologize for her unprofessionalism, and says that she will take care of it. She then prints the money order, which took over the span of 5 days to obtain. The level of unprofessionalism displayed by the supervisor and the incompetence of the clerks on Thursday was evident, as they failed to provide her with any proof, receipt, or email explaining what happened when the bank deducted the money. As a result, my niece had no way to demonstrate that it was a money order that she never received. Machacara Graham (supervisor) is one of the most unprofessional and rude supervisors I have encountered. I told my niece never to come back to this post office, and I advise everyone, if you can avoid this place, please do. read more

Shoutout to our local community heroes! The staff is friendly, attentive, and hard working. I like seeing the same nice people like Ms Clara and the team. The store is organized and fun to shop in. I really like looking at the cards, stamps, and wrapping options. I also like the convenience of the different mailing options for budgeting, security, and speed. I know that the mail persons delivering the mail are working hard during all our local weather severities and we should all appreciate the dedication that they are due. We were always taught as kids that the mail always is going to make it to where it needs to go because of these heroes!! Bless them!! read more

Slow slow slow. There is always a long line and not too many workers. No matter what time you go be prepared to wait.

The Main Street post office is the largest post office in in the Laurel area. They have a huge self service area compared to the other locations and usually have 2 to 3 people working. The staff members are usually cordial and helpful at this location, but they are definitely understaffed and the lines are long. I just say please be patient with customer service because they're doing the best they can. read more

This has be the worst post office in md if not the dmv. Went it to pick up a package and after 10-15 min waiting someone comes out counter and says anyone just picking up can come here, so I did and when I let her know it was cod , she just walked away from me. I tried to get her attention but couldn't so I lost my place in line. Then there were only 2 ppl working and one left for lunch break. Like can you believe it? There open 8-5 which is when everyone is working so only time to use post office is at lunch, and even then with how long it takes I usually get docked pay for returning late. The people at the desk seem nice but there is no sense of urgency and there is always a line out of the building. It's always the same people working so I have to think they need to hire some help. The carriers will leave your mail/package at the annex and make you come back just to wait in those crazy long lines and most time they don't even get your mail. Not sure why such bad reviews. They have later hours on the weekends, there is a parking lot, four clerks working and friendly. There was a line, but on a Saturday afternoon, I wouldn't expect anything less. I do like that they made sure to announce that if you were just dropping off you did not have to stand in line. They also had a clerk who was walking the lobby, which was beneficial for me because I was unsure of what I needed to mail internationally. They do have a self service machine as well. This is not a review of the post office per se, the folks in the actual office were very nice. My mail was marked as un-deliverable as stated on the tracking. The post office told me I had to call the Delivery Annex to get my mail (You can't go there you can only call) I was given two numbers and the hours to call. 301-483-6458 & 301-957-9611, 8-9am & 5-9pm a supervisor is there to answer calls so I was told. I called every 15 mins during those hours These 2 lines are never answered, I searched online for the annex, found it and read multiple complaints about the phones not being answered. Don't accept these numbers if they say your mail is un-deliverable get another one that hopefully is answered. read more

Why does no one answer the phone? This post office is the absolute worst. Service is bad...and slow. People are rude. I routinely get other peoples' mail and viceversa. Right now, there sits a package in my mail box (clusterbox) that I can't retrieve because it won't fit through the little door. I have no idea how the carrier got it in there. The only way to get it out would be to bend it, thus damaging the contents. Vinyl LPs, so they will probably warp in the afternoon heat. I've been trying to call the PO all morning. No one answers. Our postal service is dismal. Mail comes so late in the day now. Oftentimes, I don't get mail until it's delivered by an honest neighbor, as it was delivered to the wrong address. This has to stop. Today, I checked my mail and found a package that I could not remove from the box. It fit into the box when the mail carrier had the entire front of the cluster box open, but would not fit through the opening when I retrieved my mail. It's still there. I think the one lady that's always working the counter has her braids wound too tight. NEVER have I been in that post office (and I've lived here 20 years) and she DIDN'T have an attitude. Someone else mentioned the scale being off, I noticed the same thing. How many customers are being screwed over pennies at a time? Great experiences with the clerks, I only have to come here a couple times a year for a signature required package and the ladies are always nice. I'm not sure why it has not been corrected, but the package slips still have the wrong 13265 Laurel Bowie Road address, but package pick up happens at the 324 Main Street address. Don't spend extra time going by the wrong address printed on their slips. Also, the postman is not often going to write down the real address to pick up packages, you will be lucky if they scratch it off to help you recognize you need to get more info on where you package is...but the post office on main street has your back. read more

The Laurel Post Office is a cascade of failure. We got a slip in our mailbox informing us they tried to deliver Certified Mail, and that we could pick it up the next day--not at the Main Street post office a few blocks away, but at Montpelier Station at 13625 Laurel-Bowie Road, down in South Laurel. I took off work early to head over there, but drove around, puzzled: there was no post office at that address, just an empty Park-and-Ride. I looked the location up on USPS's website, and it turned out it was at 1*2*625, a couple miles to the south. The slip they left was printed with the wrong address. I drove down to the Montpelier Station office, and waited in line for twenty minutes. As soon as the woman at the window saw my slip, she turned it over and crossed out the Laurel-Bowie Road address: she said we had to go to the post office on Main Street, that the letter carrier had left us the wrong kind of slip. From her tone of voice, it was clear that this was a regular occurrence. It was 4:55; I knew I probably couldn't make it back to Main Street in time. So I tried calling both their published number, and the number the woman at the window gave me: no answer on either. Evidently they decided to close, or at least stop answering the phones, five minutes early. That's some customer service for you. I drove home, frustrated, only to open our mailbox and find... the certified letter I'd wasted the past hour trying to retrieve, delivered without the required signature verification. So, just to recap: the Laurel post office gave us the wrong address, for the wrong post office to pick our letter up at, stopped answering calls five minutes before they're actually scheduled to close, and delivered our certified mail anyway without bothering to get the signature they were required to get. Worst service I've ever seen!! rude people behind the counter, with no care in the world! when i asked to speak to a supervisor all I got was a phone number to a phone that no one answers. Packages will sit at the annex for days. with no hope of delivery, which is why I went there to begin with. The lady behind the counter said" if you'd chosen express delivery instead of priority your package would be delivered on time" really? 1st of all that option wasn't available. 2nd a comment like that shows ignorance, stupidity and unprofessionalism. My tracking shows a certain day. And my expectations are of that day. my package isn't important because I didn't pay an extra fee? He apparently had time to fill out the peach form yesterday, but not enough time to drop the actual envelope off? That's bullshit. Next time I'll use FedEx. HEY POSTMASTER!! Coming here is horrible. The staff are so rude when I tried to pick up a package for my boyfriend. No one was greeting me, not even a glance. When I showed them the post-it that they gave us when we couldn't pick up the package at our house, they gave me a nasty attitude and told me that my boyfriend had sign the paper and then shoving it back into my hand. There's no reason for this lady to be having such a negative attitude if something wasn't done right because of a small signature. I guess not everyone is hospitable. Laurel Post Office, how do I hate thee, let me count the ways: 1. The tiny parking lot 2. The handicapped spaces that are never available 3. The long waits in line 4. The buck passing when you screw up 5. The inability to deliver a package within a month 6. The unseemly battle between you and apartment management over who controls the mailboxes 7. The inconvenient hours for those of us who work M-F 9-5. 8. The fact that when people complain about the government being incompetent, you are Exhibit A. Edited to add: Went in the AM, and they seem to be more pro-active about the lines, one employee was pulling people out with uncomplicated transactions and showing them how to use the self-serve section. I was shipping two packages (one COD), and picking up two packages, and I was in and out in under 17 minutes. So I added a star for improvement. read more

This post office lost 2 of my packages that I dropped off. They were never scanned in and usps cannot find them, so there is no proof that usps actually currently has them. To make it worse, this post office will not answer their phone for me to even talk to someone at the actual office about it. Side note: If it is going to be the official usps policy to not acknowledge a package as dropped off, without a receipt (even when usps employees take them from you), then maybe it would be smart to stop promoting employees take packages without providing a receipt. read more

All I can say is its a Post Office. I'm not expecting to go in here and have people catering to me like I'm Michelle Obama or something. These people work hard and I appreciate all they do for me when I come in to drop off some mail. They are never rude, always friendly, but you can tell they work long hours. I won't be smiling and laughing too. BUT I guess I'm just understanding. Now, for your convenience, they have a self use center to make your trip to the Post Office less painful. There have been improvements.....I'm not sure what reviews they received but they have done the following: 1) cleaned their self service area, of course people still leave envelopes around...but the inventory has been stocked and the inventory labels are correct. 2) there were four attendees at the check out. When the line began to get long one came from behind the desk and went down the line email to ask how each person needed help. If there was a way she could get the line shorter she did. I needed one stamp. She told me the total amount for the stamp and envelop and took payment right there. She also gave me instruction for the mail that came to my home but the person no longer lived there. She gave me a pen and took the envelopes herself. I really appreciated not standing in line longer for ONE stamp. I also appreciated the self-service area being more intuitive and stocked. People are coming in and leaving and it is more like a quick service station, as it should be.... especially on a Saturday. read more

Absolutely the WORST PO in our area. They literally NEVER answer the phone. It just rings and rings until it finally just disconnects. Mail is never delivered in a timely manner. Mail is often delivered to the wrong address. I have on my account MULTIPLE items from the IRS that show as delivered throughout last week and this week. Not a single one delivered. Our delivery person is abysmal and often, very uncomfortably, hits on me. But you can't reach anyone or file a complaint anywhere since THEY DON'T ANSWER THE PHONES!!! read more
