After trying KC's donuts today I'll absolutely miss Steve's even more…read more Steve's was just the best donut shop that wasn't an overhyped couture donut The quality was amazing, flavors and service! Today I tried the KC version of the strawberry buttercream donut and it's not the same in any way No more heart, whipped cream instead of buttercream and not nearly enough strawberries Service was fine, quick It's too bad they couldn't keep Steve's quality and recipe. Need to find a new spot now So sad but happy they were able to retire Steve's is always 5 star KC maybe 3.5

On a hot summer day, they were blasting the AC which was super appreciated! We came in to cool off and enjoy a beer, after reading their signs! Of course, we opted for a glazed donut, too. The guy at the front was nice and friendly! Super chill. We took out items and sat towards the side, under their large TV. He switched on the TV and ended up playing the World Cup game!! I had drank a nice and chilled Space Dust IPA from the tap and my partner had a Blue Moon. I was very delighted by their glazed donuts which were massive! For $6, it was bigger than our faces; I'm guessing x3 the size of a regular donut. I enjoyed it because it was sweet, doughy, and perfectly glazed. A twist of a donut shop, but for their variety of drinks, I don't mind it! Loved the experience. Thank you for having us!

Unfortunately, I probably should have known better just by looking at the color of the donut. I took one bite and was immediately disgusted. It tasted like it had been fried in old, overused oil. What a huge disappointment, especially when you've been carefully planning and looking forward to a treat like this during prep. Honestly, the mom-and-pop donut shops have been so much better in my experience. The unpleasant taste lingered in my mouth for the rest of the day. Such a letdown when you've been saving that treat and looking forward to it for so long.
