Where to begin my ode to my favorite breakfast and lunch spot? First of all, the donuts are great; that's why they're in the name. The big one with the chocolate frosting and chocolate chips has a vanilla cream in it that is silky and sweet and pairs well with the fatty dough. It's not too heavy or thick. The boba is delicious. Their taro is almost butterscotch-y, and I want to live in it. The matcha and honeydew are my close runners-up. The real reason to go is the sandwiches. I don't have a specific recommendation because I love them all. The lunch sandwiches have like half an avocado. The bread is chewy on the outside and soft on the inside. They also never mess up my modifications, which aren't major (no cheese for me) but sometimes it's the little things. I've also gotta say, the service is great. Might actually be the best donut shop in all of Ward 7 in Riverside. ----- I have come to this location several times to either get donuts or get boba. Not once has this place disappointed me. The donuts always taste good and are usually freshly made. And when they're not newly made, the owners usually feel bad about it, which they don't need to, but it's nice they do. Like one time when I ordered a dozen donuts and one of the owners decided to just give me two free donuts as an apology for them not being freshly made. Again. That's not something that's expected of them, but the fact that they're willing to go far for a customer is just really heartwarming and difficult to find any negatives in. The boba drinks aren't bad either. I'll admit it's not my favorite place to get boba, but I will never complain about the boba in this place because, just like their donuts, I know they're trying their best to make superb quality boba. Obviously, from everything I have said so far, the customer service is amazing! The owners are incredibly nice, and it makes me think that any reviews that express negative opinions about the customer service probably just went in during a bad/stressful time. Christy's Donuts is where everyone needs to go! Me and my husband woke up hungry this morning and started calling around to see which shops were open and willing to make some fresh croissants! She was so full of energy and willing to assist at 4:15am ! When I walked in they were hot and ready and she already knew it was me who had called! She was fast and very friendly. Today I decided that this is my new go to place! Everything is clean and everything smelled so delicious. They have a variety of breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches and donuts to choose from. The drink fridges are stocked and have so many options which I appreciate! Most places only offer the green original monster and don't offer the sugar free version! Today we got a number 8 (bacon and sausage bagel w jalapeno, egg and cheese), a number 9 (ham and bacon croissant w egg and cheese) ,a lemon filled donut, and a maple log. The number 8 was Devine. I thought it was interesting that they give you an option for jalapeno or no jalapeno... I got it and it complimented the flavors so much without making the sandwich overly spicy. This sandwich is HUGE! For $6 you can't go wrong. The number 9 was gooey with delicious cheese and the protein was packed in very generously! This location is not closed. It is open for business. However, there customer service is awful. My husband ordered a croissant with no mayo. When he got home, right up the street, he noticed they had put mayo on it. Instead of throwing it away, I told him to go back and exchange it. Instead of making him a new one, they charged him half price because they "didn't remember him asking for no mayo." I would have walked out right then. He ordered it and said it tasted decent.
