I tried the cheese potato, which is one of the two Korean corn dogs they offer. When I took a bite, the cheese was still soft & stretchy, so of course I liked it. It was my first time trying Takoyaki (fried squid ball). It was soft at first, then you get the squid part which was a little chewy. It's an interesting texture, but I enjoyed it! You'll want to pop one in your mouth & eat each one in one bite. I had the Shoyu Ramen with an added egg. It was yummy, but I couldn't finish it, because of all the appetizers we had. It's okay, because I know it will be okay to munch on later. The soft boiled egg was well cooked for me, not under done & not overly done. I enjoyed the noodles. In the mood for ramen and searching for hard to find vegetarian broth options, we stumbled upon U Ramen and decided to give it a try on a cool Saturday evening. Plenty of parking and we were seated immediately. Other than the fact that it felt like the AC was blasting on a January night, the small interior was simple and welcoming. We quickly decided to order the Spicy MIso Ramen with Tofu and Garden Ramen. Both arrived very fast in large steaming bowls. I thought the Spicy Miso broth had a perfect amount of heat, my husband added several spoonfuls of U Ramen's home made chili crisp to his bowl, heating it up to a higher level than he expected. We both drained the bowls, leaving not a drop of soup or a morsel of noodles. Hot tea came in a paper cup. The price seemed reasonable and our ramen craving was satisfied. We will definitely return to U Ramen for a simple and satisfying meal. read more

I've visited URamen a couple times now and it has become my go to noodle spot. It's a small place so be ready to enjoy meal im close quarter. They crank out food pretty quickly and the service has been quick and efficient. So far I have not been disappointed with the food. I really enjoyed the Mozza, Gyoza, Spicy Miso soup, and Sliced Beef with noodles. I preferred the cheese stick without the potatoes because that one allowed for the batter to come through with a little more sweetness which is perfect with the Sriracha mayo on top. The Gyoza comes with a delicious chili oil sauce and can be addictive. We normally get two orders. The beef and noodles are not spicy, and offset the spicy miso soup. if you want a soda they give you a can, I prefer the Thai tea. The perfect amount of sweetness and cream in it. Overall URamen is a much needed noodle spot in Oxnard that is serving up flavorful dishes. read more

Wow!! I've been looking for great ramen in the area for a while and was always disappointed... until I visited U Ramen. Some of the other places I've visited include Silverlake (The Collection) and Cagami (Camarillo) but neither was up to par with this place. I've only been once and I already believe that you can't go wrong at this place! I went with the Triple Ramen (I like a busy bowl of ramen, one meat is a little bland to me - I blame the amount of options I can get in my noodle bowls at Pho Saigon for this) with the Coco broth (AMAZING!!) Medium spicy. I upgraded the chicken to fried chicken which ended up being my favorite meat in the dish. I also added egg to my bowl (I asked for two, she brought us four), a personal must for ramen. The shrimp was a little bland for me, but with the egg, chicken, gyoza and tasty broth it didn't matter. Also, it could've used a little more spice to me, maybe some chili sauce on the side that I'll ask for next time. Overall definitely a 10/10 ramen experience and one of the best meals in Ventura County period. The lemonade came with free refills (an unusual plus at places without soda machines). My friend also liked the Oxnard Ramen (stir-fried ramen without broth) which looked pretty good. But I recommend going with one of the traditional options for your first visit, because what's ramen without the broth? I've had great ramen on the East coast but this is the best I've ever had. The serving was generous that we could not finish each of our orders. I got the Shu Shu Ramen. I love the noodles but it does not seem like the tonkatsu I am so used to. We also got the shrimp tempura. I love the tempura but there was no tempura dipping sauce but was instead served with chili sauce. This must be a fusion place. This is a pretty good ramen place. And considering how close it is to my hotel, I'm definitely going to be coming here more often. I didnt even have to leave the parking lot to pull into this place, its just literally in the same block as the Courtyard Marriot, which is extremely convenient. I ordered thru yelp via grubhub and my food was ready for pickup in about 20 or so minutes. They individually package the broth and the protein seperate from the noodles which is thoughtful. I ordered a side of takoyaki, karage and their shu shu ramen with an extra egg. 1) Karage- this was their chicken. It was pretty good. Nice crunchy outside. Chicken was moist. Great taste. I would definitely order this again. 2) Takoyaki- this was not what I was expecting. Basically octopus balls. I thought there would be some sort of crunch, to break up the consistency. You really tasted the octopus, but the mushiness reminded me of like baby food, or pureed food for geriatric patients who cant chew. 3) shu shu ramen- they broth was really well developed. Great amount of taste and flavor, just had so much depth in flavors. Noodles cooked well. The egg was pretty good too. The meat was cooked well, not overcooked at all, nice and soft. My only issues with this place which isn't that big of a deal is the takoyakis lack of crunch. And maybe because of how long it was waiting for me to pick it up and take it back to my hotel room the soup was not as hot (temp wise) as I would have liked. But it was still acceptable. Overall its a solid ramen place. Pricing isnt bad. I'd like to try their other ramen soups in the future. And definitely ordering that karage again!!! read more

We came here hoping for the best with the good reviews we saw. The waitress had absolutely no idea what was on the menu I don't know if it's her first day or she just didn't eat ramen. The food came out and it was mediocre at best I ordered the Miso spicy and it was spicy but that was pretty much where they ended, my wife ordered the crunchy noodle one and remember the exact name oh it was Oxnard Bowl, the shrimp was a chewy and gummy we ordered a set of Goyza and as a party of two they give us five pieces not sure why they didn't do 6 but they were gooey they weren't Chrisp. Later that night I was having really bad stomach ache from that I spent a good portion of the night in the bathroom can you say feel the burn... so I probably won't be going back here. read more

The takoyaki was up to my standard :) it was very good. The kaarage was ok, I would prefer a lemon to squeeze over the sweet sauce that was offered. The ramen was super delicious! It had a like wedge in it, I'm not really sure what it did for me though. But the meat chasu pork was perfect ! It also wasn't swimming in my soup for me to fish out which I liked. The broth was simple, I asked for medium spice level but it wasn't really spicy. I was given homemade chili sauce & that really helped the the flavor :) The noodles were cooked just right. This place is a great addition to the community. The food portions are exuberant and can feed two people easily. I ordered teriyaki beef bowl on a bed if white rice, with broccoli and corn. The beef was so tender and moist and adding a drizzle of soy sauce brought it all to life. Meanwhile, we ordered the spicy meso with shrimp and it had my husband nose on fire. It was hilarious to watch. My kid ordered the garlic noodle bowl with salmon and she tore it up and was a happy camper. Checked this place out tonight after my friend posted a picture of their Korean corn dogs! Called in my order and said it would be ready in 25 minutes. Came 30 minutes after the call but still waited another 10-15 minutes outside for my order. I get it, they're busy beyond belief as the new kid on the block which is a good sign (for any business during this pandemic). My family and I ordered the Shoyu Ramen, Shu Shu Ramen and Spicy Miso Ramen all with Chashu pork, along with the Mozza Cheese (Korean Corn Dogs). Biting into the corn dog, you taste the breaded, fried batter first. It's got a subtle hint of pancake sweetness enough to compliment and melted mozzarella cheesy goodness inside. Being breaded, it added the perfect crunch to the bite. They also give you spicy Mayo to dip your corn dog into- a nice creamy touch to enhance the sweetness, texture and everything going on already! My family and I loved it and will definitely come back, if even just for that! We dove into our ramen orders. The broth/soup was perfect. Not so overwhelmingly spicy as some other ramen spots would serve. We ordered the spicy chili oil on the side to add if we wanted more of a kick. The ambiance to this restaurant js very crowded. Seating is limited. You feel you are in a much smaller location than the building appears to show. The service is very nice, however, and food was delivered very quickly to us. On to the food itself. I got the shu shu pork broth ramen. It was absolutely delicious. The broth tastes particularly good with the large amount of vegetables they add to it. The portion sizes were very large as well! Noodles were cooked very well too! They were plentiful and chewy. On the negative side, do not get the kaarage. It was one of the worst kaarage I have ever had. The recipe for this one seems to be lacking any real flavor.
