We had some new furniture to pick up and decided on renting a Uhaul truck to get it. Since we had a leather couch and two leather recliners to pick up, we decided on the roomier 15' truck so we wouldn't have to stack anything. This truck was only $10 more than the 10' and included 6 hours of rental time vs 4 hours for the 10'. We made a reservation online for convenience. The truck was clean inside. Our only gripe was the dirty windshield. It was so filthy you could see someone's writing on it! Not the best when driving a rental. Also the gas tank wasn't completely full (7/8), and on the paperwork the desk lady marked it as full. Luckily my husband was smart and took a photo of it once we got in the truck, in case there werw any questions. The guy who checks in the return trucks noticed we didn't return it completely full, so we showed him the photo and he was fine with it and there were no issues. The employees at this location were friendly and helpful. We had no issues with the rental process, truck or return process. Would recommend. read more

I shipped a Ubox cross country and when it arrived at this location manager Mackenzie noticed (fortunately) that it was coming apart and secured it until I had a chance to unload it. She was pleasant and helpful. Recently I went there to get some shipping boxes, and was pleasantly surprised when manager recognized me and helped me out with my purchase. I've rented from MANY U-Haul locations over the years. They have been and still generally the best value for your money. This location is generally clean, usually is well-staffed, and the employees are usually helpful. There is a traffic light at their entrance, which is a great thing when having to make a left turn onto a busy street in a 26' moving truck. The items keeping this location from getting five stars is that there usually seems to be at least one problem per visit. On my last visit, I waited in line for almost 20 minutes to pick up my rental truck, despite there only being two customers in front of me who were being attended to simultaneously by two employees (and one of these customers was doing their pick-up on their cell phone, which I would have done, were it offered as an option on my reservation (I tried, it wasn't)). On my previous visit, the employee taking my return transposed two numbers when they read the odometer, resulting in them trying to charge me for 80 miles when I drove less than 30. Misreading an odometer is understandable, but the defensive and accusatory nature of the employee to whom I pointed this out was not at all professional, nor was the lack of an apology when they double-checked the odometer and corrected their mistake. One final gripe is that this location is very busy, and their parking lot layout is such that the line to return trucks is behind the customer parking spots. This has resulted in my being trapped in my parking space waiting for employees to clear out trucks one more than one occasion. read more

I've used this location to pickup and drop off one-way U-Hauls several times in the last 2 years. While it seems that when you're in a pinch to move, and corporate rates fluctuate (some times wildly), the staff here is pretty helpful. We were able to find a cheaper moving truck somewhere else, but it's not as nice or well taken care of. When I came back to get an additional trailer (not all of our stuff fit in the big moving truck), we realized that the van we would pull it with didn't have trailer light hook-ups. Sure, now we'd have to have that installation done while I waited, but Justin and his crew jumped to it and got it done much faster than expected. Ashley is doing a great job with her staff and her store. If you need help with an order, or something isn't right, Ashley is your gal. If you're looking for a hitch installation done well LOOK ELSEWHERE. I had a terrible experience from beginning to end, and the quality of work I paid for was dismal. 1) On the day of my appointment they told me that they didn't have the part and flippantly said "you may have to drive to southern Oregon to get it done for all I know." I asked to call them back as I needed to think. Their calls are routed through a call center. Calling them back took about an hour. But at least they were willing to help work with me after this. 2) I showed up at 1:10 for my 1:30 appointment. I left at 4:15 after being quoted a 90 minute wait time. 3) They left the wiring hanging out the back of the car. My car has a port that can be removed with just your fingers, that is SPECIFICALLY for hitch a hitch wiring port. 4) When I pointed out that when I paid for professional installation and got something worse than what I would have done myself, they stood by their work. Apparently they only wire things properly using the port DESIGNED EXACTLY FOR THIS PURPOSE for trucks? This is actually what I was told, that because I drive an Outback and not a truck, they felt it was fine to leave wires dangling out the back. 5) They don't offer refunds. The folks at the Andreson location acknowledged that I'm upset for good reason, and they offered to fix the crappy work they've done, but still charging just a little bit more. All I have to do is give them another 2 hours of my time. Good Riddance. read more

I called ahead to make sure I could rent a truck from them and it was available, they told me they had a couple and I made sure to ask if I could pay cash and they assured me it was fine. So I took the bus all the way there (20mins) and then I got there asking the whole time if I could pay cash as I was giving my information to rent the truck. Then as I was handing the money over another cashier told me they can't take cash!!! Wasted my whole day just to go there and now I'm not able to move and have to shift the schedule for ever helping me around! Terrible communication! I will never be back. read more

As a trusted brand I have made many purchases through U-Haul. One of the most common purchases is filling up propane tanks. Tonight I went down and filled up our tanks. After filling up I was shocked to find out it was $5.02 per lbs (no prices displayed). At first, with inflation, I thought well that may be just the going rate now. When I got home I decided to call around and found out the local prices are $3.19. This is very disappointing for a trusted place of business to take advantage of the consumer and consumers' trust. I thought U-haul did a really good job. They are very detailed and send you lots of confirmation emails with everything you need to know. They were good when I left and good for the drop off. They were well-organized and the people were very nice. The only 2 reasons I didn't give them 5 stars is they moved my drop off without my knowledge - I saw it on the invoice. It wasn't a huge deal it was just farther out of my way. The other reason is I was going to rent from them again, and I saw the rates had been raised 50% for the dates I was looking at. I know it is because of supply and demand, but I wish the rates were more consistent. I ended up renting from Budget because they were much cheaper and back to the original price I paid with Uhaul. But overall they are a good company and I had a good experience with them. read more

First of all the owner rocks. Let me explain, I was renting a 26' truck with a trailer and while standing in line I noticed one of the "associates" was just all over it. She was answering questions for the other associates, answering questions from the headset in her ear, being efficient as all get out and being really friendly. It was actually fun to watch someone so good at their job. As it turns or she waits on me and when I give her my name she says, "I was just about to call you because I think I can save you money, moving is expensive enough let's see what I can do". She changes my plan, and does save me a bit of money, but at this point I'm so impressed I look at her name tag and realize she is McKenzie, the owner. Wow, talk about orchestrating a huge, hopping and popping business, she was awesome. On my way out I couldn't help but say "you really run a hell of a business". She got a huge grin on her face and thanked my for saying so. Everyone else that I interacted with were also courteous, efficient and professional. As a business owner myself I understand that everyone has a bad day. I have NEVER been treated so poorly by a business. This store called to confirm reservation a day prior to pick up. We spoke that the ubox would be picked up the following day in the morning by the moving company we hired. The day of this move the movers arrived and the box wasn't ready (8am). They were to be moving us at 8:30 for an out of town move. Told movers it would be ready by noon. I finally tried calling to get through to figure out what was going on. You are unable to get through. Decided best way to get answers was to drive to the location and speak to someone. The worker behind the desk said they were short and he was the only one who could get the ubox but he was training staff. And he needed to leave at noon. He decided he would go get the box then (10:30), I'm not sure we would have gotten it if I hadn't gone in. I asked to speak to manager After about 20 minutes the manager came in clearly upset that he needed to speak with me. I voiced my frustration. No yelling no cussing just saying that this was not acceptable. He proceeded to say "what do you want me to do". "I'm now in here talking to you rather than helping other customers ". I said an apology would go a long ways. This guy clearly should not be a manager, zero customer service skills. I will never use this location again. You would be much better off driving a little out of your way rather than picking anything up here. While I was there I proceeded to watch other reservations that were not correct or ready. Moving is stressful enough to have things planned out and arranged ahead of time is important. I would not trust that you will get what you need when you need it or be treated kindly. read more

Horribly slow. I've been here at least a half dozen times and the line is always at least 30 minutes long. Once I was asked to fill out paperwork. They had me move to the side to fill it out. Once I was done, I had two employees look at me, look away, then ask to help the next person. I had to speak up just to get service again without going through the entire line again. I had reserved a storage unit a month prior to a move. They charged me about $160 at the time of the reservation. When I arrived to take possession of the unit, they took a half hour to find the reservation then claimed I didn't pay for it up front. Understaffed, overpriced, and a lack of any kind of customer service. I rented a tow dolly from them and they gave absolutely no instructions or information on how it all worked. When I tried to ask some more questions to be sure I would know what I was doing, my questions were brushed off. Dealing with U-Haul's customer support over the phone is a COMPLETE MESS. Wow. NEVER, EVER EVER EVER EVER go to this U-Haul location. Better yet, NEVER, EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER use U-Haul as a company. Try as hard as you can to use any other moving company out there, because no doubt they will be more honest than this company. I moved from Vancouver to Denver in November 2011 and had a hitch, along with the electrical wiring installed in my car, so that I could pull a small trailer with all my stuff. First off, this whole process is prohibitively expensive. A really nice U-Haul employee by the name of Nanette helped my boyfriend and I attach the trailer to our car, and when we realized we had forgotten to attach the wiring, which we wanted to do ourselves, instead of to pay for, she helped us do that too. In the process, she BUSTED THE TRUNK PANEL IN MY CAR THAT HOUSES THE ELECTRICAL WIRING. There's just no two ways about it. She was sincerely apologetic the for immense, window-to-floor crack she had caused in the trunk of my Honda Element and insisted we get the insurance information, because U-Haul would pay for the repair. So we paid Nanette for her time and left for Denver thinking life was hunky dory. I think you can probably guess where this is going. . .U-HAUL CLAIMS THEY NEVER BROKE MY CAR. And now they won't pay the $500 it's going to take to repair my car. I will no longer stand for big businesses who abuse their privileges, take their customer's money and offer no goodwill or integrity in return. DO NOT USE U-HAUL. DO NOT USE THIS U-HAUL LOCATION. Hugh was very patient and professional. I definitely appreciate his demeanor considering my stressed out and completely exhausted mental state. Moving from state to state is hard work. I was short on sleep and short on patience which isn't normal for me so my capacity to think clearly wasn't real great. Fortunately Hugh was in charge so things went as smoothly as they could have. The only thing worse than having to conduct business in my current condition was hearing that when I walked out of the U-Haul facility to get fresh air, my step son said Missy said, I was a sore thumb. My frustrations were valid and although I expressed them, I don't believe I was abusive or blaming to anyone in the process. Missy would do well learning to keep her personal opinion to herself and focus on customer satisfaction. I've always used U-Haul for moving and have never had a horrible experience; and, even though the truck got a flat tire and my storage wasn't secured online like I had thought, the worst part was hearing I was insulted behind my back but in front of one of my children. I scheduled a truck for pick up at the St. Helens, Oregon location online. i got a call the next day saying that they could not give me the truck that i ordered and i could not pick up at the location that i requested. I had to drive an extra 20 miles to pick up the truck which U-haul charged me for plus an extra 40 miles on my own vehicle. I called and asked for reimbursement for the extra 20 miles and the manager said "sorry you got a vehicle for your move didn't you" and refused to do anything. I will never do it again. read more

I rented a pick up and was quoted 43-45$ for about 20 miles plus gas rate and tax. When I dropped off the uhaul Sunday evening, I had made a note that I drove under 10 miles. This morning, I have a posted transaction for 43$. They did nothing to offer a resolution or that someone had made a mistake on their end. My warning to anyone who chooses to use them, if read your contracts carefully and take pictures of ending mileage before you drop off so you can dispute anything that doesn't seem right. I rented a truck here to move from Vancouver to Bellingham. The truck was nice, and seemed newer. The experience was terrible. First, I rented a truck on a Thursday, and realized Friday that I would need a car trailer too. So I went to rent one. On their website, adding a trailer costs $59. The trailer, because I rented it "alone," cost me $124. I get how combo deals work, but how about a little wiggle room? Then it came time to load the car onto the trailer. My car is lowered, and that presents an issue in loading it onto a trailer. I will say that one of the employees there knew how to handle it, but unfortunately that was after I got help from another employee. When the car started scraping on the ramp, he told me that I would just need to get a running start to get up onto the trailer. So I did what he told me, he's the expert right? This mistake resulted in a torn left inner cv boot, a $250 fix parts and labor. So I contact Uhaul, and they're like, "but we didn't drive the car onto the trailer, it's not our fault." You would think that for something as little as $250-300 they would try to keep customers happy and coming back for future moves. I guess not... read more

Amazing service! I'm running around at the last moment looking for a trailer that will work with my Jeep. I sauntered into this location 4 minutes before closing (honestly didn't realize until I was walking in) & Kenzie not only greeted me with a smile but had NO problem helping me even though her day with customers should be done. Just amazing! No attitude, no complaining, no "we're closed" (as she had the right to say at that time!) just genuine care. My elderly roommate had made a reservation the previous week but then had to cancel it. He thought he had re-scheduled; however, he had got confused and we arrived to discover that he had not made a valid reservation after all. The counter person (wish I had gotten her name) was incredibly gracious and worked with him to take care of the problem without getting defensive or accusatory. I was really leery of renting a Uhaul after hearing and reading horror stories. I had to move my large items from point A to point B, and none of my friends had a truck big enough for the job. I bit the bullet and reserved one online. I arrived at 7am ready to pick my truck up. The gentleman who helped me was the store manager. He went over the documents thoroughly and explained whom to call should I need roadside assistance. The truck was on and ready for me. The mileage had been documented incorrectly, so I ran back into the store to have it fixed. Driving the 15 foot truck was a terrifying experience for me. I couldn't see a darn thing, and took out probably 3 curbs. Fortunately I didn't hurt the truck or anyone around me! I was able to get all of my stuff in this truck and unloaded within a few hours. I took the truck back and even received money back because my estimated miles were higher than my actual. I would definitely rent from here again, but would probably have someone more experienced drive the truck :) read more

One of my veteran buddies said this was the place to go works good with military folk, Took almost two hours just to tell me something didn't fit and couldn't do the install on a hitch receiver when it should have taken about 30-45minutes.not too sure what was going on back there. I had a mixed experience, but overall I would recommend them. In summary, U-Haul screwed up but were able to provide a solution that made me was satisfied, even happy, with their customer service. My experience: Rented a truck for one day of moving within the city. The vehicle was available and on time as expected. After a few hours, however, we realized something was wrong with the truck and didn't feel safe driving it anymore (felt like the brakes but was something electronically faulty with the traction...or something). U-Haul sent a replacement truck out to us while we waited at a gas station - but they did not give their driver sufficient instructions and she ended up taking an hour to get there. The second vehicle worked fine. When it came to pay, the very kind man behind the counter wiped off all record of the first (faulty) vehicle, so we only had to pay half the day's use.
