I was there for a hitch installation. I left before even being checked in. The employee seemed to be having a bad day and made a comment under his breath. "I don't even want to start a 3 hour job right now" (this comment is concerning but I can understand their point of view with current severe weather conditions in AZ) The manager (Raymond Williams) pulled the employee into the side room and decided to address the situation immediately. However, the manner in which the situation was addressed is concerning. I could hear the manager yelling and scolding the employee with a very harsh tone and profanity. The whole situation made me feel uncomfortable and I cannot imagine how the employee was feeling. I decided to cancel my service/reservation and state my concern; management should never speak to their employees in such a way. I understand not wanting to be out in the heat for 3+ hours and there should be some type of accommodation for the employees to deter any similar issues in the future. I don't understand management dealing with their employees in such a belittling way. When I tried to address the situation with the manager, he seemed to be irritated at my concern for the employee. I will not be returning to this location and hope that this never happens again. read more

We needed a trailer to pick up some larger home project material this weekend. We ended up at this location as it was centrally located to where we needed to be and were going. We had called ahead to see if they had a specific size in stock but were left on hold. We ended up making a reservation online easy enough, but wasn't the exact size we wanted. When we checked in we inquired if the slightly smaller trailer was available for us to switch to. The team was happy to oblige, but somehow we still ended up with the original size. Regardless, she'd was nice we got checked in easy, hooked up and price point was affordable for just a trailer. We got 24 hours and could drop off anytime before our frontal kick up time. Easy peasy! No issues and would visit this location again. read more

We had pulled in and originally had a great experience until my girlfriend and I were communicating with the staff member Raymond Williams and he specifically asked me to remove my girlfriend from the conversation when she was asking a question. Struck us completely by surprise and was very rude. Then insisted another staff member be present. This man seems well at his job and was very unprofessional for no reason. Got a hitch installed and they totally s rewed up the wiring! Fuse blew within minutes of turning my car on. Brought everything back the next day to have it fixed and they only replaced the fuse. I asked if it was a wiring issue and he said he didn't know why the fuse blew so quick. I asked if it would happen again and expressed my concern because I was moving from Arizona to Michigan and planned on doing a lot of driving at night. He gave me one extra fuse in case it happened again. Began my drive and wouldn't you know it, saw no lights on the trailer once the sun set. Pulled over and checked to ensure everything was plugged in then checked the fuse. Fuse was blown. Replaced it and it blew again within a minute. Now I have to completely alter my moving schedule since I can not drive at night. Terrible installation! read more

8 am Saturday rental, my license is a travel ID. It's good for anything, even traveling by airplane per the US government and the TSA. Not good enough for UHaul however, they had to call my sleeping wife at 8:30 on a Saturday morning to validate my identification. That's ridiculous. What if I just moved here and have no one to call? Most of my friends don't answer calls from unknown numbers, and this call came in on my wife's phone as unknown. The truck I had a reservation for was not checked in either, I had to wait for them to check it in before I could rent it. Worse yet, I drove a pickup for only 30 miles and topping it off took 4.2 gallons. That would be 7 miles a gallon, that truck is estimated to get 19 miles a gallon according to UHaul's website. It was not topped off when they gave it to me, so I put in gas I didn't use, at today's gas prices. That's stealing in my book NEVER AGAIN. UPDATE: In the interest of fairness...UHaul contacted me by phone offering to refund the amount I spent on gas. I didn't want to take money for the gas I used, I just wanted fair, so I did not respond. It would be hard to tell what portion of the gas was actually legitimate use. In the end, I got an email indicating they refunded money directly to my credit card, and yes they sure did. So I must say, they tried very hard to make this right. Went to pick up a U-Haul and this older man with glasses presenting himself eating with food stuck to his chin in an unprofessional manner. I have rented there before and dealt with him and the transaction was smooth. This time he was a complete douche bag and difficult to deal with. Demeanor rude, uncomfortable felt like my husband and I were thieves with the all the questioning and the way he asked. I was talking to my hubby as he stepped away and the woman that was standing there the whole time was ease dropping and when he came back she repeats to him what was said and looks at me saying there's nothing wrong with his face and I told her there's food on face. So because she stepped in on our transaction we cancelled the rental and walked out and will never go back to this facility. Customer service very poor. read more

do not get a hitch installation at this location the store manager john dodd destroyed my vehicle it turned on one time to leave i went straight home turned off my vehicle and it completely froze up! he installed some wires and now my vehicle completely froze up! i cant even get into my vehicle. my vehicle was completely fine i did not have anything wrong with my vehicle! john doddp told me yesterday he would send someone over this morning now its morning and hes refusing to help fix my vehicle! he said he's not a mechanic he doesn't know how to fix it! well he shouldn't be working on peoples vehicles because he's destroying people's vehicles that shows he does not know what he's going! i did file a claim with uhal now we are getting a mechanic to do a diagnostic to see what john dodd did to my vehicle. i only got this hitch installed so we can can have a flat bed in the parade in 2 days so it was a complete waste of money! we spent months preparing for this day and put in alot of money creating a float for the flatbed and this guy completely destroyed our plans messing up my vehicle. read more

Overall I had absolutely no problems with this u-haul rental. I rented a pickup truck for 24 hours. The truck was perfect. New and clean. Took about 15 minutes to get everything situated and ready to walk out with the keys! Fast and easy. They also have some other moving supplies in the store. I bought some plastic covers for my queen size bed for about 4 bucks! If I ever need to rent a uhaul again I'll be sure to come here. read more

I have to add to last review, now that I learned why I suddenly had a mysterious charge show up on my credit card, with no phone call, no email attached to it, nothing! I found out the truck was registered as returned late, for one, though on the very day I returned it, on time, I have paper work showing I also rented from uhaul on that day. The rental place I got had a padlock on it, so I was not able to empty the truck that day. Next day, exasperated with them, I went to another storage place instead, but couldn't empty the truck til that night, and when I returned it, they were closed, so the guys who checked it in checked it in even the next day, though it had already been checked in two days later. They couldn't even communicate with each other on that, plus they added miles on and were charging for that, but those miles went on after I checked it in, bc I still had to drive around more to find new storage. God! I am so fed up with them--will tell, everyone, and never use them again! read more

Came to this location after a terrible experience with an 'authorized U-haul dealer' down the road. Complete opposite experience from what I had down the road. All 3 employees were helpful, friendly and courteous. They even took my complaint about the other business and sent it up the supervisory chain, (while I was in the store, the manager got on the phone to get my story to the right people). Drop off went smooth. I work with a non-profit and will be needing equipment twice a year at least, and I will continue bringing my business to them. read more

I made reservations online. I showed up a little late for my rental time, but was out in less then 20 minutes with no issues. I rented a trailer and it performed as expected. Had one hiccup with the hydraulic brake but resolved with reset and when I talked to the attendant about what happened, when I returned the trailer they tagged the trailer for full inspection. They take great care of the customer and their equipment! Will be using them again next week to move the rest of my stuff and have complete confidence in the care I will receive. Only suggestion I have is if you are returning come in from Dobson due to light rail. read more
