The time has come to say goodbye to Monterey (will come here only for work). A year ago I visited here for truck drop off with no issues. Today the customer service rep helped me with all my questions, including deciding between a 17' or 20' truck. He even let me tour the trucks to get a sense of the space. I also appreciate them working in the systems to make sure reservations can be updated as needed. For any movers out there, this location has a nice stock of supplies, and even $5.00 moving blanket rentals (6 total for $5). I did notice some customers were very rude to employees, but generally, based on my experience if you are respectful, they will return the courtesy. Good location for all your moving / rental needs.

Ordered truck online for 730 am pickup verified driver and all on app. Get to location equipment not issued. 30 min phone wait. Still waiting. Umtheybdont care. 3 movers being paid to sit around while we sit here on hold waiting for an agent who isn't even in this state. Garbage customer service. I'll be sending a bill for my time wasted. People- quit letting businesses get away with thus unacceptable behavior

This U-Haul is amazing!!! I called at 9:00 AM and of course it was some answering center not the store directly but surprisingly the lady had the address correct for this location and was able to reserve a ten foot box truck for me for 9:15 AM the same day. That blew me away. Due to past experiences at other locations I was pretty certain I would arrive and they would have no idea what that lady said or why she told me what she did. Anyways I showed up late around 9:40 AM and to my surprise they had my reservation and the truck was being pulled out front for me. The employee and I went over the rental which was roughly $20 for 4 hours and $1.90 or thereabouts per mile. I was moving my stuff from Marina Greens Mini Storage in Marina to Extra Space Storage in Monterey less than a block away from this location!! I took the risky route do to the small distance and only making one trip and chose to wave the insurance. We walked around the truck and looked for any damage and he had me double check the fuel level. The only down sides I had was the truck was automatically in Tow Mode every time you turn the truck on and no one really explained what that was or how to turn it off. Not a major deal just something I wish I had known about. Secondly the ten foot box trucks don't have pull out ramps. This is a very nice extra feature to have but we made do. For the price I'm sorry these complaints are miniscule compared to what I got for my money. I paid roughly $48 plus I put a little bit extra fuel in at $10 and I got all my stuff moved in one trip in one day!!! Thank you so much for having this location which is so CONVENIENT and very affordable. I find myself complaining all the time that there is never anything quality and affordable anymore. The world has seemingly turned into money gouging corporations. I'm so thankful that a company like this is more than reasonably priced and makes a stressful situation as easy as it can be. Oh and the employee who helped me said while we were chatting his computer system was slightly buggy due to the new upgrades they did. I think those upgrades did wonders because the last time I called U-Haul they couldn't even find this location and when I called back and got someone else who could find it they said there were no trucks available. I drove by this place and it was packed with trucks so I'm just glad I think they are working their kinks out of their system. Anyways I would recommend giving them a shot if you need a box truck to move.

The wires professionally connected tucked away under the hood of my car and in my trunk under my spare tire

I'm very impressed with the hitch installation on my 2019 Rav-4 hybrid. I was referred to U-Haul by Victory Toyota. They were not able to install the hitch because Toyota didn't carry the needed parts. I was hesitant to go to U-haul, because I honestly didn't even know that they installed hitches there. Alfredo did an amazing job. His years of experience shines through in his professionalism and quality of work. You can not even tell that he took off the panels inside the rear of my car to connect the wires to my light signals. All of the wiring is well hidden and apart from the fact that now I have a hitch you can not even tell that the car was disassembled in some parts for the installation. Let me also mention that this all took only an hour. If you need a hitch installed look no further, and ask for Alfredo.

Scratches on cab also and cab was never cleaned outside and inside and outside glass of cab was never cleaned.

However after explaining our situation to Russel at Del Monte Uhaul he was very patient with our frustration and listened to our issue and solved it.

We booked a Luxury Tent - Lower Grove through Airbnb for about $200 for 1 night (we did book pretty late - about 1 week in advance - so the price might be cheaper if booked earlier). Instructions on getting there were pretty easy, and check in is in their central office building 3-8pm. Staff were super friendly! The office closes at 9pm, and then security comes onto the site, so I felt very safe. The whole campsite is small so a lot of the sites are pretty close to each other. They have cabins, RV spots, drive-in sites, walk-in sites, and some really nice luxury tents. Some spots have a nicer view up the hill, but the Luxury Tents in the Lower Grove were on the steep downhill road near the exit, more tucked in under some trees. I did like that the Lower Grove felt a little more private than the Upper Grove. But we did have to walk up the steep hill to get to the nearest bathroom. Our Luxury Tent (50Q) was pre-built and sturdy, and had space for our car right on the site. Our tent came with a queen sized bed, heated blanket, 2 side tables with reading lights, USB plug, a small shelf at the foot of the bed with some towels, and a small side table with a electric kettle and coffee packets. Outside on the small patio was also 2 adirondack chairs for lounging, and a propane grill with grilling utensils. I do wish we got a small table outside for our food, and a fire pit at the site would have been nice. We also ran out of propane in the morning but I'm sure they would refill it if we were staying longer. Our tent was perfect for 2 people. Some other Luxury Tents are much larger and can fit many people, and had large patios, tables, and firepits. Since our site was under some trees, it was quite shaded, which I'm sure would be awesome in the summer! We stayed during early November, so the evening was cool and morning was brisk, but it wasn't freezing. The campsite amenities were very cool: a heated pool, sauna (can fit 6-8 people), multiple fire pits and lounging areas, ping pong table, cornhole, horse shoes, basketball hoop, playground, and hiking trail. There were some sports equipment and games at the front that were available to use as we please. I super enjoyed the clean bathrooms, showers, and dishwash area - with provided hand soap, paper towels, dish soap, and body soap in the showers! It was always clean and never crowded. I thought this was worth it for our site and luxury tent - super duper convenient to not have to bring & set up a tent/sleeping bag. We basically arrived and were able to get comfortable right away. Saddle Mountain is a good choice if visiting the Carmel-by-the-Sea, Monterey, or Big Sur areas.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!…read more I'm concerned that this company generates More revenue from charging people for damage, than actual rental services. There was superficial aesthetic scratches as you can see in the photo. We were told, that these tiny scratches are worth 25% of the entire cost of the part ($1400). Do you think these scratches justify 25%? In reality, it's more like 0.1% of the cost. --so how many customers will they do this to? 10? And reap a 250% return on this part? -HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS. I'm all for paying for damages but this is ridiculous. The money maker is charging customers for cumulative replacements. You're NOT SUPPOSE TO PROFIT OFF DAMAGE CHARGES. Or is that the entire point of this business? If you've been ripped off by this business, please reach out, as we may be interested in class action litigation.

They only have one person working on Sunday so I waited over 2.5hrs to make my return. Waited outside their gate for 40mins. Another rented was already waiting. The only person there takes 45mins to do his return inspection. After waiting for near an hour the renters in front of me finally got escorted off the property. Upon inspecting my rentals he pointed out a scratch on my jetski rental. The scratch was pretty superficial. The seadoo sparks are made mostly out of plastic and polytec unlike traditional jetskis that are made of mostly fiberglass. Fiberglass damage needs repairs to prevent more damage to the surrounding fiberglass, however, the plastic and polytec damage does not need to be repaired. The small scratch was the size of a pinky fingernail clipping from a part that was nearly the entire surface of the ski. Basically the area you would stand on. The parts price was quoted at ~$1200. His inspection required me to pay for a 1/4 of the $1200 part and 1/4 of the labor it would be to replace the part. A quarter of the price was ridiculous in my opinion. I asked if he could give me deal and give me 1/10 of the cost for parts and labor. It seemed more reasonable than paying over $300 for a scratch in some polytec/plastic that was likely intended to take some abuse. I was surprised he was even considering that small scratch as damage. It blow my mind that they would do this kind of BS to a customer. By the looks of it, this has happen before. The pictures indicate the part that would be replaced. Again, my scratch was the size of a little fingernail clipping. The part is massive in comparison to the scratch.
