I recently had my keys stolen and needed to have my car towed to the hotel I was staying at. I called my insurance company and since I don't have towing on my policy, they offered to organize a tow but I'd have to pay. I agreed but after 20 minutes found the cost for the towing they were organizing was out of line. We then started calling local towing companies. When I got Brian on the phone at Matteson and Beers, he was amazing. He recommended other less costly options but they would have required leaving my car where it was over night and I didn't want to do that knowing someone had my keys. So, he got the address where my car was parked and was there in 15 minutes. He was amazing in getting my car onto the flatbed (required as the break was on). He then took us and the car to the hotel and offloaded it into a slot in the parking lot. He was so attentive to us, our car, and when another car was driving through the parking lot and needed to get by, he quickly jumped into his truck to move it so they could pass, then put the truck back into position to finish the job. Brian is awesome... had a hose blow at the corner of General Jim & Canyon Del Ray. We waited on AAA for over 3 hours and they could not find anyone. We called Matteson & Beers Towing and Brian came out right away. He had 2 vehicles already on his truck, so he dropped em off quickly and came and got us out of there asap. First Yelp review. Yippee. Called these guys for a tow today. Was told it would be about 2.5 hours because they were jammed. OK. No problem. 2.5 hours later I called for an update and was told they couldn't do it today. Would they have called to tell me this if I hadn't called them? Probably not. No courtesy call. No nothing. I basically sat around for 2.5 waiting for nothing and then had to scramble to find another tow truck service to get my car to the shop before they closed. Ridiculous. Agh, hate the feeling of being stranded...well that happened to us in the first day of our vacation. We parked our motor home and we're in the process of leveling it when the front jacks shifted and the springs can't loose. The jacks were down and we couldn't get them to move. We called Matteson and Beers and we're were told that Brian could help us. He arrived and knew exactly what to do, he jacked up the front of the motor home and using a heavy duty jack he was able to move the leveling jack back to and upright position and re attached the springs. Wish I could give this place zero stars. My car got towed and its understandable there would be a fee. I was told 370 if I got my car the same day and 340 for the next day. Went the next day and on the receipt it shows they charged us for two days. How are they gonna charge for 2 days when the tow place picked up my car at 3:40 pm and got it back at 8:30 am the next day. Asked about the 2 days and was told its 2 calendar days. I was also told it would be a $100 after hour fee if we had gotten the car the same day. That doesnt add up to the 370 I was quoted. Charging random pricing should be illegal. The price seemed high for the car only being there 17 hrs. read more

Wish I could give them 0 stars. I had my car towed here and they severely overcharge you for their "services" a.k.a keeping your car parked in a dirt lot. My main issue with them was that when I went to check out the car I noticed they had stolen a container of coins I had. It only had $25 - $30 worth of coins in it, but I mean that's ridiculous. Its unfortunate that I have to give them a star at all. I was considering having my car repaired and parked on street till I returned ,apparently you can't park for more than 72 hours. Police called this Tow company to pick up my car. Now I do understand it is my responsibility and do not deny the fact of why it was towed. But the tow yard did not send me a notice till 8 days later so I had no ideal and by that time they Rackedup enough charges! It would of only took a day to send a notice. I wasn't going to send a review but after meeting (the lady who's name starts with) "T" and not even knowing it was her till the nice older lady went to go speak with her outside. (The lady who's name starts with) "T" was just rude to me . I asked her if she worked there when I first arrived because I needed help to where to park outside and asked "T" if she worked there since she was sitting outside,she said no. Now mind you after I parked my car in front with my end lights on to quickly go inside to see if someone could help me... the older lady then cane out helped me to park after driving around 2 times... thats when I found out "T" did in fact work there and that she is the one responsible for sending out the notices. I don't mind paying for my own responsibility But it would have been nice for them to have better customer service. I personally like to work with people who appreciate others and offer great customer service. I do hope that this doesnt happen to anyone else as far as sending notices out after over a week its not OK to tell people to pay more than they should of had to and if they dont pay right away they will be sent to collections and end up having to pay $4,000+. It was my second attempt at using a tow service, the first company wouldn't even try because he said it would be too hard to fit his truck in the space available to hook up my car. Team M&B Towing.. recently my alter ego "procrastination" reared its ugly head and my pride and joy, my baby "Hooptina" was impounded. I had the option of paying a $125 to sheriffs dept. for earlier release, however I couldn't even begin to dream of doing that since they just called for me to be towed.. so I opted to let my girl sit for 30 days. (I totally. acknowledge my fault in the tow) When the time came for me to pick up my pride, I was a ball of nerves to hear the final bill after 30 days. The owner was more than fair and had all the paperwork I needed when going to d.m.v and I can honestly say, I never would have gotten my car back if not for their assistance. It couldn't possibly be easy listening to customers pissed off day after day even when most are dead wrong... New Years day my wife and daughter were stranded on the Hwy 1 on ramp on Fremont Blvd northbound. They called AAA and had to wait 2 hrs. A driver named Morgan finally arrived after numerous calls. He looked at my wife's car and said he could not tow her vehicle and that she had to call another company! We asked if he could and why AAA didn't have one available. He gave us a lame excuse that we had to wait until 730 am to request a flat bed tow and that her car would be safe. It was 7pm. He refused to call another company and got back in his truck and left my family and myself all within 5 minutes! We took it upon ourselves and called Matteson and Beers Towing. I was involved in an accident in Big Sur at sunset. It took Tommy about an hour to get there after he was notified, but when he arrived, had my vehicle on his flatbed very quickly, and gave my father and I a ride up to the Monterey area. During the ride northbound on Hwy 1, Tommy was completely profesisonal and courteous to us. He's one of the best drivers I've ever seen. He gave us a pretty accurate estimate of the total cost which was: $180/hour @2 hours + $55/day stowage = $415 My insurance paid for the tow, so the price didn't matter in my circumstance. Tommy was even nice enough to drive us to a nearby hotel after dropping off the wrecked car. The next morning they helped us load the vehicle onto a trailer at no cost. Dishonest and greedy. If this isn't legalized theft, I don't know what is. Got my car towed for parking in a 2 am to 7 am tow away zone for a special event. My mistake. Fine. Go to pick it the same morning, a Sunday, assuming the longer I leave it, the more I'll be charged. The owner of the company runs my credit card, then gives me the bill. $100 tow fee, $55 1 day storage, $90 after hours gate fee. $245 total. Then he tells me if I would have waited until Monday, I would have saved $35! Refuses to give me a refund. read more
