We made a reservation a month prior to our move. Moving during Covid has proved stressful. We arrived and found out they didn't have the truck we reserved. They called us the morning we showed up as I was in the office to get the truck. They could not explain why they didn't have the truck we had a reservation for. We were moving far away and the original reservation allowed us to drop the truck off at our new location. The only option they gave us was to get a smaller truck and then we had to return it back to this location. This was an extra trip to not only take additional trips to get all of our items but then we had to drive the truck back to the location adding an extra three hours to our long moving day. On top of that they wouldn't pay for gas or extra mileage and would not refund us for their mess up. They advised they provided us with an alternative truck which was in concrete and hour and a half drive from us. In fact Concrete didn't even have the truck but Oak Harbor had a truck. We are in everett and the reason they advised they couldn't give us a refund because they offered an option to pick up a truck in oak harbor and this is the day of moving...... Absolute worst experience me and my 7 month pregnant wife have ever had moving. We will never be using Uhaul again and will be disputing their charge with our credit card. I do not have enough bad things to say about this day or uhaul. Use any other moving service if you want your moving day to be somewhat organized. Don't waste your time making reservations because uhaul does not honor them and will not show any empathy when they screw it up. read more

Literally the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I booked a u box to be delivered to my house on the 27th of October. When the box hadn't arrived by 10am and I hadn't heard from them I called. They said that actually their route was full for the day and they changed my drop off day to the following Saturday. They we not apologetic at all and were extremely rude. I have my own business helping my clients move and organize. I certainly will not be recommending this company or their u boxes ever again. Employees are not friendly and lack customer service skills. When I walked into the location for pick up they did not greet me or asked if I needed help. There was no one else in the store. However, what was worse was when I returned my rental I waited 5 to 10 minutes before going inside the store, when I entered the store employees gave me a bad attitude when the sign clearly stated to wait outside for a representative to complete my return. It was as if I was a problem and an inconvenience to their day because I was returning a rental to them. Again, there was no other customer is their store for them to help. The employees need to be retrained and be talked to for their lack of customer service skills. I will not be coming back to this location to rent and not recommend this location to anyone. Also their equipment was everywhere, nothing in order, and they clearly don't care about safety at this location. Showed up to pick up a uhaul and there was a ton of confusion and miscommunication on timing. Our uhaul ended up getting canceled. But luckily the good guy he is, Andrew the assistant manager hooked us up and was able to fix the problem and get us the uhaul we originally needed. I wish I could give negative stars! I don't expect a whole lot from this place! I mean let's be real, it's a minimum wage job and judging by the attitude of the employees they seem to hate working there but this a$$hat of a douche waffle takes the cake!! We went in 6/7 to pick up a trailer we reserved a few days prior. We called to change the pick up time the day before, I think the guy who modified our reservation unknowingly changed the date. (Didn't realize this until after our ordinal) We went to pick up the trailer and IMMEDIATELY upon arrive the mentioned douche waffle comes out and informs of the spots in front of the store are for employee parking.. customers are to park out on the street behind the store not in the parking lot.. After moving out car which was complete BS we go inside to pick up our trailer. At the counter D.W (as we will refer to him moving forward) tells us we don't have a reservation and the trailer we wanted (5x8 enclosed) would cost us $459 dollars from Everett to Spokane. Online this same trailer was listed at $168. We informed him there must be some kind of mistake and his response was "not my problem this is the price" so we asked why online the price is different and he says "don't know I can only give you what's in the system" I insist he looks again and he tells me no. And if we want the trailer that's the price. ok so we ask for a manager. We had a reservation, we were quoted a price I expect what I reserved. Manger isn't there - fitting right? So we are told to call the manager, after calling we are directed to the uHaul customer service line. The manager was of NO help. As we are on the phone D.W asked us to leave the store and handle our "business outside" while out there I would like to point out that there were 3 other people who had the same experience with D.W and were on the phone with customer service. Customer service was no help saying our reservation was moved from 6/7 to 6/22. And because of this we couldn't get the online advertised price. We were placed on hold numerous times and given the runaround. After spending an HOUR on the phone trying to figure out what happened, my wife went online made a new reservation for the $168 price, paid online and arranged pick up that day. As we walked into the store, D.W told us our business was no longer welcome and we could leave. I guess we were inconvenient customers because we parked in front of the store and wanted the price advertised online! Shame on us for expecting what was advertised and reserved We informed D.W we had a new reservation and would not be leaving. In the end, the other UHaul rep assisted us, pulled up our reserve we made the second time and we were out the door with our trailer in less than 15mins for the advertised $168 price. THIS NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED! Had that jack a$$ of an employee been polite and assisted us from the beginning this all could have been resolved in 30mins or less. We were not rude, we were patient and understanding! Thing happened reservations sometimes get lost. I'm not an unreasonable person! But this guy was rude, unapproachable and had a serious attitude problem from the second we pulled up, and parked in the designated "employee parking" in front of the store which I call horse crap on! I've parked there many times for trailer pick ups and never had issues. I also never had a rep so unwilling to conduct business. I don't open always ask for an employee to be fired but that guy should be fired. Not just because of our experience but judging by the 3 other people there having the same issue I can only imagine how much money this business lost because of D.W! I've since bought my own trailer just so I never again have to use UHaul! Highly recommend taking your business else where!! read more

Although national U-Haul customer service DOES allow for rental of moving blankets, local (Seattle area) stores DO NOT. They are only given out if one rents a truck, etc. Fortunately, when I arrived at the Everett store to pick up our initial rental blankets and presented my reservation paperwork to the girl, she chose to honor the national policy over the local store policy. I appreciated her common sense and good customer service. However, when I returned to rent 5 more bags of blankets the store would not accommodate our request. U-Haul national customer service even went so far as to contact the "District Manager" but she also refused the additional blankets because "they weren't supposed to rent them". I am a retired corporate manager so have some experience with the disconnect between national policies and those of local retail stores. It does not benefit the company or customers not to be consistent. When we made our reservations, we were treated with a national policy but then when we arrived at the store, we experienced inflexibility on a local level. U-Haul needs to improve or else their reputation and service record will continue to be extremely poor. read more

I had a trailer hitch and wiring installed on my car. They did a terrible job reinstalling the bumper cover and the tail lights. Both the tail lights and bumper cover were not aligned with the car body. The tail lights were left so loose I could move them around with my hand. I will need to take my car to a body shop to get both the lights and bumper cover reinstalled. read more

So I made a reservation for 4 u-boxes for our big move from Washington to California. I had family members fly and drive up from California to help me since my husband is already in California for his new job. We get to this location and there wasn't a box ready for us when we got there at 9am like promised. We waited at this store for 2 hours while they built one for us. They said one would be ready for us when we got back. We got that one and got it loaded after about 2 hours. We took it back and there was still not one ready for us so we waited for another hour until they got that one finally loaded. We kept the second one over night, I called and asked 3 different times what time the warehouse opened so I could be there first thing in the morning and all 3 times I was told 7am. So I got there at 8am because I was running late. We got to the warehouse and there was a younger woman working and an older one. My dad was with me and he politely said "good morning ladies, we are here to drop off our second box and get our third and fourth boxes today". The older woman, Kathy, turned around and really snotty said "if we have some." My dad said "well we need those last two because we are leaving to California later today." Her attitude rapidly became worse and she threw hands up at my dad and said "what do you want me to do? Build you one?" I stepped in and said "there's no need for attitude and hostility, it's too early and we just need those boxes because I made the reservation and we are on a schedule" she then got attitude with me and said now we don't open until 9am so step outside. So I got on the phone with corporate and made them aware of her hostility and all of a sudden a manager showed up and a box that was completely ready to go magically appeared. She took off the lift gate/ramp off the trailer and threw it against it and then got the forklift to put the new box on. She made sure to ram it into the trailer so it made my car jump pretty far forward(that's terrible on my transmission). That was my last dealing with her. We had to leave out of state so I had my sister in law return the last box this morning. The same old hag was working and she started speaking badly about how my sister in law was a bad driver and pulled the trailer in poorly and she didn't do it quietly. She did this loudly to another worker in front of my sister in law. I WILL NEVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN AND I AM GLAD I WILL NEVER HAVE TO USE THIS STORE AGAIN. I will make sure that I take every step possible to make sure this woman is taken care of and her attitude is addressed. I rented a tow dolly from another location and they said that they had actually heard from other customers about this stores poor reputation and this woman's poor attitude. I will make sure this is taken care of. Moving is stressful enough as it is and I have had to move a lot, this experience has been the absolute worst and I hope and pray nobody else has to run into a situation like this and has to deal with a hag like Kathy. read more

Do not use this rental facility!!! We reserved our truck in advance and when we arrived were given our contract and keys advised over and over about making sure the gas tank was not less then 1/4 full when returned and that it had 1/2 a tank in it ..... get in start it and it's BELOW E go back in they say ok will won't charge you ... so now I have to take time to get gas..... get to our destination to begin loading truck and key for padlock to open truck is nowhere ..... call and " oh gee it's supposed to be on the keys guess you can come back to shop we have an extra we can give you" needless to say very unorganized , wasted our day running back and forth and their parking lot is a disaster of trucks and even the employees were struggling to get trucks and trailers out to be used!!! read more

For trailer hitch. Extremely disorganized but staff were relatively pleasant. I reserved over the phone saying I'd arrive at 3:30pm and could leave vehicle overnight if easier. When arrived, they said I missed my appointment at 2:30pm and had to come back another day. After I explained was leaving overnight they said "oh that's not shown on computer". They said it would be ready by 2pm the next day. At 2:30 he next day, I called and asked if it was ready. They said "my installation appointment was from 2-4pm since the hitch guy only comes in the afternoon. I showed up at 435pm and the person at the front desk 1st said it hadn't been done since he does them and he hadn't done it today. Then he panicked because he couldn't find the key. Luckily the guy next to him overheard and grabbed the key from under the desk (not on the key wall) and said it was done yesterday. Righhhhht... read more

Don't even bother calling this place, they will never answer the phone. However, they require you call to schedule accessing your Ubox 24hrs in advance. In order to get some info from them you have to drive here. And once you are on site, there is only one person that has actual information on Uboxes who is never truly available. read more

If I could give this ZERO stars I would. I made an appointment for the ONLY day we could come in to have a trailer hitch receiver installed. I was told the receiver was in and that if I held the reservation it would ensure it would get done. I made the appointment at least a week in advance. My husband shows up and they tell him first that they don't have our reservation. Then they find the reservation and it was moved two days later. They admit they moved it 2 days later because they didn't have the receiver, but they also admit they emailed it (which I NEVER received) WHO MOVES A RESERVATION AND DOESN'T MAKE A PHONE CALL!?!??????????????? The manager then says they had a cancellation so they can do the appointment but checks and the part is not in. We suggest they get the part from Napa Auto Parts and install it, but they refuse. WORST EXPERIENCE WITH UHAUL EVER!! read more

Good lord. The service was awful... All I wanted was a large box. Went into this location a couple hours before closing. There was one couple doing business before me so I got the box I needed and waited. The lady behind the counter glanced at me then went to an office door and as she went through it told someone inside that there was a customer (presumably me) waiting. Then she went inside and closed the door. Huh... So I waited for a few minutes before I realized that no one was going to help. I probably could have left with the box at that point but that would be bad karma so I loudly announced that I would just like to buy a box. No answer. So then I went to the door and asked. "Can I buy a box?" And here is the stunning answer "No. I'm at lunch." Ok then. I took some money out (cost of the box plus extra for taxes) shoved it under the door and told them I was sorry for bothering them. As I took the box to my car the guy comes out complaining to me. "I deserve a lunch to don't I?" It was on the tip of my tongue to reply that it wasn't really my problem but I couldn't muster up the effort to argue with this mouth breather so I re-emphasized that he had more than enough to cover the cost of the box and left. This is the first negative review of anything I have ever written - that should give you an idea of how unpleasant my experience with this business was. My wife and I had just completed a long move from the east to the west coast using U-Haul's 'U-box' storage containers to ship our things to Everett, WA. We received an email saying that our things were *GUARANTEED* (that is the exact wording from the email) to be delivered at 12am on the specified date. Now we, thought that '12am' was a very odd time to be delivering our things, so we called and were told that yes, 12am was a mistake and that they were correcting the error to 12pm on the specified date. So we arrive on the specified date at 12pm to receive our u-boxes. No one shows. We wait around for an hour and then I give them a call to see if there was some kind of a mistake. I speak with a representative who has absolutely no idea what she is doing and cannot figure out why my u-boxes aren't there. She puts me on hold for 20 minutes and then a *different* rep answers the phone who informs me that my things are scheduled to be delivered by *6PM*. When I explain that this was not the guaranteed time and that it is hugely inconvenient for us to wait around for *six hours*, she puts me on hold again - and then hangs up on me. I call back and am transferred to their 'scheduling department' where I am greeted by an extremely rude woman who offers no apologies and will admit no wrongdoing on their part. She literally tells me that our things are scheduled for dropoff at 6pm, but that there are no guarantees that it will be there - that it could even be as late as 8pm before we see our u-boxes. When I tell her how unsatisfied I am with their service, and that I will be leaving a negative Yelp review, her response was to verbally shrug and say "Well, you do what you have to do." There were a multitude of other mistakes made by this business during my interactions with them, but if I were to write them all down, this would quickly become a novel. I have never seen a business this incompetent, and this rude to customers. The right hand literally has no idea what the left hand is doing. I would ask for a refund, but I am honestly doubtful that they would be able to calculate the amount without taking their shoes off. Do yourself a favor and do not EVER use these guys. I had an 11 o clock appointment for a hitch install that was supposed to take an hour and a half. By 12:30 my car had been pulled around back and parked. After 5 hrs the job was complete. so far seems a real good job done, but it really ate up my entire day. so good work, but could do a bit better on timing and appointment keeping. read more

Disorganized. I reserved online, but they did not have my truck when I went in to get it. I waited a while and then got a text saying they had one for me, but it was 30 minutes away. They have a $50 guarantee if they don't deliver on what you reserved, but that won't even cover the mileage to and from the new location. read more

Let me just start off by saying the young lady at the reception was very nice and pleasant. But the guy who connected the autotransport trailer to a truck i rented at another location did a bad job. I didn't know it at the time because it was my first time renting an autotransport trailer. But shortly after i left the lot, a couple of guys on the road were honking at me, telling me that the chain on my trailer was dragging on the ground. I was headed to the Lynnwood uhaul store anyway because that store was closer to my home. I needed to leave the truck there while I go home and bring my car there to load on the trailer. At the Lynnwood location, the 2 guys there were much more thorough and helpful. They helped me secure the dragging chain and also re-secured the safety chains connecting the truck to the trailer which one of the guys thought had too much slack. I feel that the guy at the Everett location needs to be much more thorough and serious about what he is doing. An improperly secured trailer with dragging chains is no joke. This could cause sparks which could lead to something serious. read more

So far so good. I have not picked up our truck yet for a major move, but the Uhaul site has made things very easy thus far. I was able to secure a truck, got decently priced packing supplies delivered to my door, set up movers to load our truck and unload it the truck and reserved a free month of additional storage all in one online action. It was like a one stop moving sop that made things far less stressful than I assumed it would be. I didn't have to pick up the phone or leave the comfort of my sofa. The cost is more than I would prefer of course, yet competitive with other truck rental companies nonetheless. The unlimited miles and 10 day one way trip rental gives us plenty of travel time in case of inclement weather. I like the time 10 day allowance; it helps avoid unnecessary pressure and rushing on the way across country. read more

Rented a U-Haul from them with a family member, upon bringing it back everyone who worked here had a bad attitude (two years ago) Went back around a year later to rent one again since there are limited options around town, the older women at the front had no customer service and was rude and sarcastic the whole time. I did not get her name because I could not dare look at her sour face, she looked of leather and smelt like she bathed in tobacco, it was so bad it still haunts me a year later. I just left to rent one in another city, I would rather do that then go to a place with unhelpful, unhappy people. I just went in to this location to return some unused moving supplies that were left over from my daughter's move. They were purchased online but the website said they could be returned to the store. Unfortunately, I didn't have the original paperwork but I did have the online receipt, order number and the credit card which was used. Even with that, store manager, Garrett, had a difficult time getting their system to process the return/refund. Although it's clear that U-Haul has a way to go in smoothing out their return process (i.e. either the order number OR credit card number SHOULD retrieve everything needed to do the return), I give Garrett high marks for remaining friendly and determined to solve this for us. I had to leave for an appointment but he persevered and called me to come in and pick up my refund. Good example of solid customer service! read more

They had the trailer I needed. Considering how busy they were, I thought the staff was quick considering I was picking up on a weekend. I understand moving is a stressful process, but I don't see why people have rated this place so low. They have a great selection equipment, a lot of moving supplies in there as well. I think this is a case of you get out what you put in. Realize there is a lot of moving going on in our area, apply a little bit of common sense and treat people with respect. I picked up in around 15-20 minutes, and dropped off in about 6-7. I didn't use the quick check in online, but they did have my info on file. It was fairly busy both times and there was some congestion in the parking lot. Even with a trailer, I wasn't stressed about it. I would use them again. read more

I have had a terrible experience moving across the country with Uhaul in general, but those that deliver Uboxes in Everett have been the worst. I called to get a window of when my Uboxes would be delivered (Uboxes are terrible btw...don't do it). I spoke with a woman who said she was making the schedule and it would be mid to late morning. I then said, "so I will hire movers for mid afternoon, will that work?" She said yes and that I would get a call the next day with a more accurate 2 hour window. I never got a call. I called the morning the boxes are set to be delivered and was told that my window is 5-7. This means I have to cancel my movers and lose that deposit...plus I won't have a bed to sleep on tonight. This is unacceptable. I was told a time and it was not upheld and instead dramatically changed. I have attempted calling customer service but wait times are long and no seems to care. That's the problem...no one cares. Customer service is dead. They don't care that they gave me their word and I made plans and that this was their mistake. I shouldn't be out because of their mistake, instead, it should be made right. But no. I do not recommend uhaul and definitely not Ubox. Pay more for the added customer service elsewhere. They do not deliver as promised. Received an email on Friday that our Box would be ready for pick up on Saturday. We lined up friends and family to help us haul and unload it. On Saturday we were told just before our pickup time that it was delayed and would be ready Sunday. Had fewer people to help us, but could still make it work. On Sunday we were told it we couldn't get it until Monday! Unbelievable! We have no one to help us. We paid $2200 for this service. Do not use this company. read more

the high review is more for a person than the company. It's amazing what a difference one single person can make in your experience with a company or a situation. There is a gentleman at the Everett location named Garrett who was there at the initial ordeal but I did not corresponde with him at first. Ever since my terrible experience he has taken it upon himself to deal with me and not only gave me the refund I wanted, but he has helped me every step of the way, greets me with a smile and makes me feel welcome, assist me with any questions I have, and helps me with my storage needs at every turn. He has gone above and beyond the job description to make sure my whole move is as painless as can be. He has made my opinion of this company go higher, primarily because if they had employees all very much like Garrett they would have phenomenal organization. My review is higher because Garrett has done things to make sure that I never experience such a terrible situations again. If you go to this company for your move, work with him. ****TIP!!! - Get a business card / phone number - DIRECT PHONE NUMBER - or you will be screwed if you EVER need anything that requires calling ahead. TRULY SAD! My passport is in my UBOX and despite calling 4, 3, 2 then 1 day ahead of time I was not able to access my UBOX when I arrived in Seattle. I had to get a hotel room and change my flight to Mexico all because this place lacks the ability to simply communicate. Here is what you will be told when you call: First, you don't even realize you aren't speaking to the location on Evergreen Way. The people on the phone are VERY NICE - DON'T BE FOOLED! Give me rude and competent over super friendly and nice but worthless ANY TIME. 2nd, they will tell you they are messaging Blank - whomever - manager, forklift driver, warehouse security - whomever - and this individual will call you back. You WILL NOT get a call back. This is a boldface lie which each and every person you speak to will perpitrate. 3rd: you will go onsite and be treated rudely by employees who know the shortcomings of their communication system yet do eff all to fix it. They have no record of your "Messages" that were supposedly sent by the call center. They will not have anything you have thought you scheduled ready. They will happily make a reservation for you - but "Oh no, you can't get in there today! Oh wow, no way I am sorry but we need at least 24 hours notice to grant you entrance to the warehouse." They will be oddly busy. They will pass you between employees without a hand-off. 4th: data you were given by the call center you will have corrected by the employees at the retail shop. For example: Hours of operation, protocol, contact information - if you asked A SINGLE QUESTION when you were speaking to a very nice and friendly individual on the phone, you will find out the answer you were given was incorrect. This information will be delivered in a smug manner - as in you were supposed to know that the employees on the phone don't know shit. Furthermore there is an attitude of: "another person was told this this and that! Haha, man, those guys don't know jack!" "Well, where does that leave me?" "Sorry pal, you'll have to come back tomorrow when BLANK - a certified forklift driver / manager / guy who has those keys - is here." Unfortunately this is the way it is. Either don't use this site, or be prepared to be jerked around.
