SEXIST RUDE & DISGUSTING This blonde waitress with a white beanie gave the worst service I've ever seen in my life!! I use to wait tables you do not ignore people then once you finally ask if they're ready get pissed off because we are ready to order after being IGNORED FOR 20 MINUTES. She ignored me & my mother to talk to some boys & would only look my stepdad in the eye. I was with my parents so I just pushed it off.. Fine, I get people get overwhelmed. Then I asked for an extra straw once she brought us the drinks WE PRACTICALLY HAD TO PINE FOR(she literally forgot to ask us what we wanted to drink) she said "sure" begrudgingly & proceeds to not bring me one after 3x of asking.. Once she's done flirting with some guys & talking to her friends she brings me a straw. IN A FILTHY GLASS! Then I obviously ask, "Is this a dirty straw?" Wanted to try some Japanese food with my wife we both ordered a chicken karage bento box and a pork ramen. The chicken on both of the bento boxes where burnt leaving a bitter after taste either from dirty fryer oil or being fried to long and the ramen we both had was salty and had no depth of flavor. Overall a letdown for both of us because the entrance down the stairs and interior decor are awesome and really give some sort of Asian street vibe you would see in Japan and really builds up the expectation of the food. But When our food came out it kind of threw it all out the window. read more

I was not impressed with this place. The ramen was good, but at the end of the day it's ramen. Ramen that costs over $10/bowl. Don't get me wrong, it was VERY tasty. However, what really irritated me is that they won't let you take the ramen home if you have any leftover because it "can compromise the quality of the noodle". Well that's fine and all if I had plans to share it, but I was the one to be eating it the next day for lunch. I understand somewhat where they are coming from, but it is a little arrogant and smug. I get that you make your noodles there, and that's great. However, if I pay over $10 for a bowl of ramen and can't take the leftovers home, I will not be back. read more

Cool staff and cool environment! The ramen was delicious but the coolest thing was the the water you poured yourself in the middle of the table! Like a hidden gem haha. Local treasure! I got here at least once a week, I'd never heard of or been to a ramen house before until this place and I'm hooked! We had a great lunch today. Our server was great and was very gracious to help explain EVERYTHING as we were not familiar with any of the dishes. Me and a friend was in town for business and decided to stop by this place for dinner. Has a unique "New York" vibe since you had to walk down a flight of stairs through a basement. We ordered the Tonkotsu ramen, pork belly & sausage yakitori. The Tonkotsu ramen was delicious! The best ramen I have ever tasted, the ramen noodle had a earthy garlic butter flavor combined with the pork broth made such an exceptional meal. my wife and I have following this location for a while and have been waiting for the opening. We were unable to attend the first night of culinary delights so we went the second night. We went through the menu in order. Edemame was first, good, though it was as good as most places serving it. Then we ordered two "small plates" one was the grilled peppers and JFP. I do not like peppers but these were good. I cannot handle hot stuff but these are mild and not hot. Disclaimer! 1out of 10 are very hot. The chicken was out of this world!! the most tender nuggets I've had, and a source cream and on in dip that was strangely good with it. NEXT! We ordered 2 skewers, and my wife got the chicken tails (huh?) and I ordered the Pork Belly Mmmm pork. Both small but very flavorful and tender. On to the last course! Pork Ramen.......*drool* we split the bowl, they brought another bowl for my wife and like Greg Lougainis we dove into this flavor bowl. We polished this off with a puff of fullness. We are not "large quantity eaters" but we were able to eat all this comfortably. They fulfilled ever facet of a restaurant. We will be back in force. Stopped by this gem after a nice yoga sesh and couldn't have been more satisfied. A buddy of mine and I were intrigued by the new space and blown away as soon as we walked in. It's definitely got the tavern feel with some of the best Japanese cuisine I have had in a while, if not the best in the area. We are both vegan/vegetarian as well and the menu accommodated nicely. The staff was interactive, knowledgable, and on point with their service. We started off with some miso soup (wow) and had a small plate of the tofu (again, wow) and we both ordered the vegetarian ramen which I can still taste hours later. The house Sake was a nice finishing touch to a solid meal. I will definitely be making my way back to this joint many a times. Stoked to see such an authentic atmosphere in the Chattanooga area. Not sure why this place doesn't have more 5 star reviews, but I will definitely give 5 stars over and over again. Being that I'm a new implant in the city of Chattanooga, I appreciate places like this one. Two Ten Jack is the closest restaurant to those of bigger cities such as NYC, LA and Miami. The ambiance (specially their old school hip hop music mix), food and drinks set them apart from the rest. Located in Warehouse Row, it gives you feel of being in NYC and discovering a hidden gem located in a basement-type setting. I've been here 3 times already and don't get tired. My favorite dishes (hard to pick only a few) are the Brussel sprouts (you MUST try this), the friend chicken (forgot the name, but it comes with an addicting sour cream based dipping sauce), garlic noodles and the tuna. Their bartender, Gabriel is not only knowledgable but also a great person. There is another bartender (I hate that I can't remember his name, but he has a long beard) is also on point with his drinks and is also very pleasant to be around. Was in town for a wedding and this restaurant was recommended to us. Anything that was "Japanese" was not good but too surprised for a smaller inland town. The fusion items were better, such as the brussels sprouts. Clams had sand in them, hotate (scallops) were not fresh, sushi rice in the maki and nagri was crumbly and on the hard side, ramen broth looked and tasted like they added ingredients to give it the milky, creamy consistency (not from simmering pork bones). Definitely didn't expect an izakaya in Tennessee to be any good, coming from NYC izakayas. We got all the vegan options and they were all awesome! The pickles were some of the best Japanese-style pickles I've ever had. Ramen was also really good, and they can add chili oil to make it spicy if you want the vegan version. Yum. The Ramen is incredible. The cocktails are amazing... #1, #2, #3 and the sake punch are pretty dangerous. Very drinkable and unique. I've tried the pork and the spicy chicken meatball ramen... the chicken one really is spicy! The skewers and small places are all pretty small and can get a little pricey. The highlights were the clams and crispy brussel sprouts, We ordered steamed rice and used it to soak up the remainder of the sauce from the clams -- best idea ever. The sushi options are limited and wasn't as good. I also tried the ramen with pork, which was good, not great. It's not the traditional ramen I've gotten from other places. Ok this place is pretty cool. Basement location has a rad feel to it. Decor great. Large space, with the ability to accommodate larger parties. Thumbs up. Service rad. All good things. BUT damn, $13 for a bowl of ramen? And the small plates and yakitori are quite tiny for the price point. I am writing this for my friend Jeremy. Jeremy drug a bunch of us redneck hillbillies into two ten jack. While we were still trying too figure out what the name meant, Jeremy had already got us seated and had them taking our drink orders. Jeremy himself knew what to order and helped each of us order food, that we were not even sure was food till Jeremy informed us that "Yes you can eat that"! They sat us at a spot that was in the middle of a small mall. I am sure to the people walking by watching each of us figuring out what we were eating was like going to the Memphis Zoo. Jeremy ate all of his food and according to him it was wonderful. We take his word for it. If you are cultured then you will love this place, if not bring Jeremy or some other cultured friends of your choosing and watch them love this unique place. Not too impressed. The location seemed interesting at first because it reminded me of some of the basement Japanese restaurants in New York City. But the atmosphere here is completely generic. Most Izakaya style restaurants have characteristics such as wall hangings or local Japanese items. But this place has nothing to indicate it is Japanese and really it could be any type of restaurant. I think the ownership realized that ramen is trendy now and so went with a ramen menu. The menu isn't very good and lacks explanations for the Japanese terms. I ordered ramen, and it came with nothing except a bowl of plain noodles. $15 for a bowl of dry noodles seemed like a heck of a lot for a small portion during lunch.
