There was no upselling from this company and they aimed to please me and they did. I requested and received a bid to have the whole first story of my house re-floored with LVP. The bid was concise and included everything that they would do, an anticipated time frame for the energy spot take a walk installation & exactly what labor and material services were not included with a promise to provide the service that I requested in a manner that would be acceptable to me. They worked hard to ensure that my house looked as beautiful as I anticipated it would after the floor was installed. They also went over and above what I had expected them to do to make the job go smoothly & never left a mess behind . I would recommend them to anyone who wants to receive quality flooring installed in a quality manner. read more

Alan and Aleister and their team are amazing! We have a two story home and they installed engineered hardwood throughout. We are very happy with the results and will use them again. We had a painting contractor at our home recently and he commented on how great the floor looked - he was impressed with the work Two Story Flooring had done. They take the time to do the job right and we greatly appreciated that. read more

Let me begin by stating that I have not used this company for flooring. Here is why: See the picture below of my front door. This is how I found their flyer. Now, this tells me one of five things: 1. They cannot read 2. That cannot read English 3. They don't know what No Soliciting means 4. They just don't care 5. They were casing the house If you are so disrespectful of me asking you not to advertise on my property, I will not hire you. Ever. I do not want your trash. Stop wasting paper. read more

Alan and his partner were very good. They showed up when they said they would. They did the work for the price they quoted. No upsells. Very easy to work with. Finished on time. Could not ask for anything more. I wish all contractors operated like they do. Do not hesitate. read more

A shout out to Two Story Flooring! I had an exceptional experience working with this company to install vinyl plank flooring in our church. The planning process was very long in requesting grant funding from our Diocese. The grant request was submitted over a year before the installation would start. I originally received four bids, but Two Story Flooring was the only company that was patient in working with me in requesting and receiving the grant money. We had a limited budget and Alan worked very hard to find the best quality flooring and scrubbed the labor costs in order to stay within our budget. When it was time to select the specific flooring, Alan and Aleister met me at the church to review the 2,300 sq.ft. area where the flooring would be installed. The old flooring was vinyl and carpeting over a cement foundation. There were many imperfections in the cement that would have to be addressed. There were areas in the cement that needed to be built-up and other areas that needed to be ground down. In addition, there were many pews that were secured in place by rivets into the cement. A beautiful vinyl flooring was selected. When Alan went to order the material, there was a shortage because the manufacture was no longer producing the flooring because of COVID-19. Alan worked closely with the company that distributed the flooring and found out that the available material in inventory at the four stores in the area would be sufficient to complete our installation, therefore preventing any delays. Two Story Flooring delivered the material, started and completed the installation as scheduled. We could not be any happier with the installed flooring. Alan, Aleister and Mike did a very professional job and they were very meticulous about their work. They cleaned up after each day. Our church was ready to be operational as soon as they completed the installation. I am so thankful for Two Story Flooring for having the patience and the willingness to work with our church through all of the challenges: waiting for the grant funding to be approved and received, inventory shortage, tackling the cement foundation, and permanently resetting the pews. I believe that the other three companies that I initially received bids from did not want to install the flooring at our church because of all these challenges. This whole experience showed me out knowledgeable and skilled the Two Story Flooring team is. The company had their documentation available to me before I signed the contract. (license, liability insurance and workers comp insurance) I highly recommend Two Story Flooring for all flooring installations. It will be the best decision that you can make. read more

I contacted Two Story Flooring after suffering water damage to my kitchen. I explained the situation and asked Aleister to come out to do measurements for a few quotes I needed to run past insurance. While he was here, he seemed fine. We had a nice interaction, he said he'd get my quotes to me in the next couple days and would let me know about someone to do tile work. Weeks later, still no reply to my messages asking about the quotes and I've since decided to move on to another service provider. Perhaps they got busy...perhaps a personal issue occurred. Whatever the case, I don't know because they couldn't be bothered to return my messages. I cannot vouch for their craftsmanship... just the failure in communication and support of a potential client. ****** Update to my previous review after Alan's comment: Alan said "I just dont have the time to make multiple estimates for a single customer who just does not know in which direction they want to proceed with their project." Alan, that's a BS cop out and you know it. If your guy comes out, takes measurements and never says a word otherwise about it being a large request. The client would assume they'll hear back. When you intentionally ignore that client when an inquiry is made... it's just bad business. We needed a couple quotes because it would determine the material that would be used overall. We were given a budget based on wood but were interested in tile as an upgrade. We also asked for a quote for the living room as a separate item because we would pay that out of pocket. This is not an above and beyond type request. Simply a consumer trying to gather the information they need to make the choice that's appropriate for their home. It would have been simple enough to say "hey, sorry, we're too busy to take your job." Instead, you're telling me that you're too busy to get a quote to someone when you have all the measurements and requirements that would literally take 30 minutes of your time to calculate. My rating has now dropped from 2 to 1. Best of luck to you in the future as well. Edit #2: Alan wrote: " I tried not to say it before but now I've changed my review of the job I hope that you gotten done I hope whoever you found to do your insurance fraud bidding did a s***** job you don't hear back from us when you want us to do illegal stuff for you I didn't want to say it before now you've heard it and I hope your insurance company hears it as well." So calling you out on your follow-through and customer service leads to you accusing me of fraud and wishing for me to have a poor flooring install? Congratulations, you just proved my point about your professionalism. I asked about flooring repair and I asked for quotes to replace the flooring with either wood or tile. You tell me, what part of that is fraud? None of it. I asked for quotes, which were not provided because you couldn't be bothered to do them. Get back under your bridge you smug little troll. Two Story Flooring... One story if you don't ask questions and give them your money. A whole other story if you call them on their crap. read more

I highly recommend Two Story Flooring. Aleister and Alan have owned their business for many years and are experienced and very, very professional, yet upbeat and fun. After a major slab leak, we called. The BEST flooring guys! Al, Alan and Mike take pride in their work. Showed up everyday on time and completed the job as planned. Cleaned up at the end of each day and even mopped the floors so I could see when I walked In. Everyday they updated us and were excited. 5 different plank sizes and they placed them strategically, as if it was art. Even went above and beyond and placed protectors on our furniture legs to assure no scratches. Their fun and energetic personalities made it less stressful and I could leave and not worry unlike all the others who were helping us put our home back together Thank you Guys! read more

I am a meticulous person, so it goes without saying that I have been disappointed by more than one floor cleaning company. However, I was thrilled with the the exceptional quality of work and level of service I received from Two Story Flooring. The people are punctual and polite, the job they did surpassed my expectations and was completed on time. So when I needed to replace some of my flooring they were the only people I trusted to do the work. Initially I was concerned that the estimate they gave me wasn't accurate because the price was so reasonable, but when the job was done (two days early!!!) there were absolutely no extra fees or add-on's. In every experience I have had with them they go above and beyond! You can tell this company takes pride in its work and the satisfaction of its customers. I have personally recommended them to numerous friends of mine and have NEVER heard anything but positive feedback. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THEM FOR ANY AND EVERY FLOORING NEED YOU MAY HAVE!!!!!!!!!! read more

Contracted Allister and Top Story Flooring in December 2014 to install hardwood floors in our home in Jamul, CA. Allister was professional and punctual and the quality of the work was top notch. All of the work was completed on schedule and his pricing was very competitive. We ran into a few issues along the way, all of which Allister promptly addressed and remedied. I like to let everyone to know all about two story flooring company and Alan Turner who is the the owner and the project manager. He is a horrible LIAR!!! He signed a contract with me to start a project in my home on 12/14/2020 and asked me to purchase 13 buckets glue. He offered me to purchase the glue for the project and I agreed. He sold 12 buckets of expired glue to me without providing receipts. The glue had expired on 8/18/2020 and he sold It to me on 12/7/2020. I paid him $1985.26 for it. After he received my check he canceled the job. Do not trust this horrible liar. Alan Turner is a first class con artist, he did harassed me to get his check. The glues he sold to me is not useful for my project according 3 different flooring contractors. He was casing in the house and forcing me to pay him for a product that was expired. He made money out of me and he ran. I called him many times and did email but no response. Be careful dear homeowners and do not get into his trap! ***** Two Story Flooring installed engineered wood in our entry, living room, kitchen, family room, office, hall and master bedroom. They also installed carpeting in two bedrooms and a stairway. We love our new floors and are completely pleased with the job Two Story Flooring did. They were prompt, neat and did an excellent installation which required several difficult transitions where floor heights changed. I am very particular about the way my home looks and I would recommend Two Story Flooring to anyone. We purchased the wood and carpet from Rayo in Santee. I give Two Story Flooring a 5-star rating! read more

My project was a small one - just a 10x12 first floor spare bedroom that we decided to remodel into a home office. I purchased the materials myself - Garrison 5" walnut plank, that matched our existing hardwood flooring pretty well. Once I started looking for an installer, I found out that a lot of reputable guys were booked weeks in advance, and it was hard to find someone willing to work on a small project like this (understandable, it is a business after all). After poking around unsuccessfully for a few days, I found Two Story Flooring ad on Craigslist. You hear lots of horror stories about people using contractors from Craigslist. I must say my personal experience so far (two separate occasions - the other was with Carlos from Tiling San Diego) has been perfect. You just have to do your due diligence and meet with the guys, reed verbal and non-verbal clues, before you sign them up and plunk down your cash. When Aleister (owner) showed up for his estimate appointment, he came from another job nearby. Although the first impression was not super-professional (he was in a sweaty T-shirt and work shorts), it was obvious form the beginning that he had plenty of experience and knew what he was talking about. It took him 10 min to measure the room, check out the material, ask some quick questions about the room and give me a reasonable quote. He said upfront that he would probably not be able to do it in the next 10 days, due to other jobs. Before he left he mentioned that he is fully licensed and insured and gave me one of his business cards. In a couple of hours he texted a thank you note, which was a nice touch. I decided to cancel my last appointment the following day, and hire Aleister to do my project. Two days later he contacted me, and said that he would be able to do the job a little sooner - just a week after, which was great. Al and his helper (Alan) showed up right on time on the day of the install, and proceeded very quickly with the work. I was amazed to see the project completed within about 4.5 hours - they didn't even break for lunch! This included removal of the old carpet from the room and integrated closet, (careful) removal of the baseboards, stripping the paint from the concrete floor below (thanks Pardee!!) to make sure that the glue sticks, laying down the new floor and re-nailing the baseboard and re-caulking for seamless look. Al even fixed one unrelated small problem in another room (reglued the molding that has separated). I am pretty picky, but I could not find any flaws in the installation - everything was done very well. I gave them a small tip over the agreed price, for the job well done. The room was cleaned up, no debris left anywhere. They also picked up the old carpet at no extra charge, and all packing materials when they left. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending Two Story Flooring for your project. Just look past the appearance - these guys may look funky, but they do quality work, and their pricing is quite competitive. read more

One star is actually too many. It is hard to believe that the Contractors License Board would issue a license to this entity. Sad state of affairs for the flooring, which I have been a part of for over 20 years. The job that was installed was one of the worst that I have seen. Too many errors to list, but I will highlight a few. Every glued down hardwood over concrete requires a calcium chloride test to accurately determine what adhesive is needed, and if an additional sealer is required. Floor prep such as, grinding and leveling, is as vital as the installation itself. If the floor is not level there will be gaps where the baseboards meet the wood as well as high and low spots where the planks join. Where the wood transitioned the fireplace and doorways indicates the lack of skill these two have. As far as their business ethics, there are none. Upon the initial agreement Two Story Flooring is transformed into Al Turner, and who the payments are to be made. By conducting there business in this manner there is little recourse, if any, upon a substandard installation. Al Tourner is not the contractor, therefore the labor is performed by an unlicensed person that is liable for nothing. If you are in the market for flooring there are plenty of reputable companies in San Diego who do great installations, take pride in their work doing business honestly, and who are capable. TWO STORY FLOORING IS NOT. read more

Alan Turner helped me with a musty carpet smell. Given my circumstances, he suggested trying a product called anti icky poo first and if that didn't work to then replace carpet with vinyl plank. He suggested I apply the spray myself and instructed me how to do it and where to buy it, but I wanted him to do it. He came out the next day and showed me how to do it. He clearly knows what he is doing, and was very generous to give me this alternative. If it doesn't work, I will definitely hire him to replace the carpet with vinyl. read more

My highest recommendation. 2 story flooring replaced all my floors with hardwood. Aleister was very professional, courteous, skillful, and honest. The job was done on time. He was readily available with any questions I had (very important with contractors!!). His price is more than fair considering the quality of his work. Go use Al if you want quality work at a fair price. read more

We couldn't be more happy with the job Alan Turner and his partner did installing hardwood flooring in our home. A friend recommended my husband and I to Alan, and he made everything very easy from our first call to the last day of installation. He referred us to RAYO Wholesale to pick out our flooring for the best price, where they had tons to choose from. Once we picked out our flooring, all we had to do was set up a date for installation and he took care of everything else- as he seems to work directly with RAYO. Alan and his partner took just two days to install hardwood flooring in half of our second floor and our flight of stairs. They are very straightforward yet easygoing & friendly, reasonably priced, and really seem to know their craft. We LOVE our floors now, they are so beautiful and perfect! We will recommend them to everyone we know. read more

Aleister Bobisink and his partner are awesome to work with. We just did a major renovation our home that included installing about 3,700 square feet of hardwood floor on two floors. It was not an easy job for Two Story Flooring because of the unevenness of the floors, especially on the main level. These guys are a class act and take pride in their work. We had a few issues in a couple spots on the new floor and the guys took care of them promptly to our satisfaction. They aim to please and want you to be happy with their work. I can't say enough about the awesome professional work these guys did. Truly improved the looks of our home. Thanks guys!! read more

Our engineered wood flooring installation was not successful with Two Story Flooring. It failed within the 1st year's warrantee, and they were not truthful about how the floor was installed or why it failed, and ultimately would not take responsibilty to fix it. An independent flooring inspector and other flooring professionals pointed out the errors of the installation after the entire floor needed to be pulled up and replaced: no moisture testing prior to install (NWFA, wood and glue manufacturer guildelines), insufficient floor prep, two glues used when they adamantly said they only used one, etc, etc... Further, while the two men of Two Story flooring advertized as partners with a contractors license, we learned they had us unknowingly contract with the the unlicensed one of the two. On our job, they didnt have workman's comp, which is required by law (they have since gotten it). We liked these mens' personalities and trusted them, but they misrepresented themselves and did a poor job. Having to get the floor redone properly has been inconvenient to say the least. read more
