We decided to do a kitchen refresh ( wanted to get rid of the ugly 1990`s on floor and the old 2 inch tiles on the countertop) and asked for multiple quotes. We have just completed a remodel of our Kitchen. Over the years I've done extensive work to my home here in Point Loma. Most recently I've been so busy at work that I've relied on contractors. One area where I didn't know where to turn was with someone to fabricate my kitchen countertop. The store that sold me the two slabs recommended Albert at Granite and Marble Concepts. I cannot say enough good things about Albert and his business. I'm very picky about the quality of work on my home, and it's taken me a long time to find contractors I can trust and delegate work to in a carefree manner. Albert was a pleasure to work with on this project. He had very constructive advice for how we could improve his ability to provide a fantastic finished product. In the end, we have had numerous compliments from friends who have also had their counters redone. Have you ever looked at a joint between cuts? Or where the line is where the counter top edge is mated with an extended beveled edge? With a poor craftsman you will see a line. Not on my countertop! And the below counter sink was mounted perfectly and fits like a glove. All of the counter is level and the finished product is perfect. Albert's workers are clean, professional, and show up on time. The one time his worker was running late, I received a phone call to give me an update that they were running 15 minutes late. They spent the time with me to make sure of what I wanted and they made sure to get it right. I have no reservations in recommending Albert at Granite and Marble Concepts. I didn't even get estimates from other companies so I don't know if he offers competitive prices to be honest, BUT the finished product is amazing! I asked miter joints, and you really have to have skilled people to perfectly joint miter corners, and Granite & Marble Concepts can do this no problem! I had a previous estimate from Lowes for the kitchen only and Albert did the kitchen and two bathrooms for less money. We have been working on our kitchen for the last year and in November of 2016 we were ready for new counters and back splash to be installed. As part of the job, we also wanted a new custom cabinet installed, where an older one was removed. Of the 5 or 6 companies I called, only Albert could do the new cabinet for me as part of the job. Everyone else only did the counter top installation. That said, we went with Albert and I am really glad we did. Shopping around, we found a beautiful natural stone Quartzite we wanted installed with as few seams as possible. Victor came out and made the templates, we then met to discuss what parts of the slabs would be best with the templates and they fabricated the counter tops with only one little seam that is impossible to see. The back splashes were also done with no seams, except where two walls meet. Everyone that has seen the kitchen loves the material we picked out, but they are also very impressed with the installation. Every time I walk in the kitchen and look at it, I am blown away by how beautiful it is. Thank you Albert, Victor and the installation team at GMC. I hired this company to install new Cambria quartz countertops during our kitchen remodel. They installed the large corner piece out of level, which caused it to crack 10" from the front of the countertop to the middle. They wasted 7 months telling me theyre waiting on Cambria, and didn't respond to several of my email asking for updates. Now Im left with a five thousand dollar countertop with a 10" long crack. Albert was very professional when he arrived to provide an estimate. His knowledge and experience were very helpful. He recommended the perfect edge finish (mitered) with a 2 inch edge, rather than the standard 1.5 inch which gives it a much more custom finished look for no or little extra cost. The second visit was for the template to get exact measurements. His team arrived on time and were professional, even removing their shoes. The installation was completed by his team in less than a day and looks great. They were very professional, covered all the floors. The fit and finish is perfect. With careful planning and his experience, Albert, was able to minimize the seams in the layout leaving the only seam at the front and back sink which can not even been seen.
