Really hoped they'd do the right thing and not leave us with uneven countertop edging but apparently they believe cracked countertops and edging that gets fatter and thinner and isn't straight is quality work. Rafael and his team did an excellent job! I wanted to keep my kitchen cabinets but replace my countertops and backsplash. I had granite on both my countertops and backsplash and they were able to remove it all with zero damage to my walls or cabinets. They installed my new Quartz Countertop and did a tile backsplash. They also handled the plumbing aspect of the job and got my new dishwasher, garbage disposal, sink & faucet installed. Having dealt with many contractors over the years I realize it's always a roll of the dice as to whether it will be a good experience or you'll end up dealing with flakes. The team at IMG were everything you would hope for in a contractor. They were timely, courteous, efficient and did excellent work. One of the big factors in going with IMG initially was that they came out and looked at the job, measured everything and gained a thorough understanding of what I wanted. Their quote was all inclusive with no hidden or surprise costs. I talked to a few other companies that wanted to just give me a quote over the phone. That sounded like it had a lot of inherent issues built into it. I think the face to face meeting with IMG eliminated any possible misunderstandings about the project. I recently renovated a bathroom and wanted to install some sort of stone for the countertops. After dealing with some "contractors" that wanted to charge thousands of dollars and also came in late or didn't show up at all, I was referred to Rafa and his team. I am extremely picky and detailed. I have a specific way I want everything to look. Admittedly I can be a difficult customer. Rafael was recommended to me by a friend, so I threw him in the hat with the other quotes. Rafael was very responsive to all my concerns and scheduling needs. I should note that we installed quartzite which is a little more challenging to work with. Five stars to Rafael in the whole team at Imagine marble and granite. We were on a deadline to get a countertop installed on our Barbecue Island before a big party. I must've called about a dozen or so companies in San Diego and they were all too busy to come out to give a quote. Rafael came out the next day to provide a quote and also make recommendations about how to make the barbecue Island more stable. Then Jasper came out to take measurements. They did a great job and what I like the most is communication from Rafael. He always responds to my text, phone calls and even FaceTime calls. I contacted imagine marble and granite because I had a flood in my kitchen and had to replace a few lower kitchen cabinets. I needed the granite slab countertop to be removed and then replaced once the cabinets were back in place. I contacted several other granite service providers and was told either they would not do that type of project or wanted a lot of money to do the work. Imagine marble and granite came right out the day I called and gave me a fair quote for what was needed to be done. They should up on time, we're very professional and removed the slab. The cabinets were replaced a day early so when I called Imagine to see if they could possibly come out a day earlier they said no problem and were at my home within the hour and replaced the slab. I would definitely use this company again and highly recommend them. read more

I had my bathroom vanity top installed by Imagine as a subcontractor for Edison Home Improvement, since their usual installer was unable to do the job. When he came the first time to measure, Raphael was a pleasant guy who argued a little about how I wanted the sink holes to be cut but he agreed to do them the way I asked. When it came time for install, however, the quartz was left with silicone all over the top. The back splash was cut to 4 inches instead of the agreed upon 3 inches so it could not be installed. The kid who later came to install the backsplash rubbed brown silicone all over the newly painted walls and the side splash was not cut straight and did not meet in the corner appropriately. They did not show up for one appointment- my Mom waited all day for them while I was at work. They never attempted to clean the wall but Raphael came and put in the sidesplash himself and ran a bead of white silicone halfway down, over the brown silicone from before after I pointed out that it was sinking down and not level with the quartz. He seemed impatient and upset with me! I found a chip under the top (not their fault) and texted him to ask how to fix it- He did finally send someone, probably at Edison's insistence, and he did a fantastic job of repairing the chip. My walls had to be repainted- that should not have been necessary...Bottom line- I don't know that I would recommend them, even though after 4 appointments my vanity top looks great. read more

I like the way he and his employees are up to date on the new granite, marble and tile techniques and installation. I'm kind of surprised there aren't more reviews for this company, but I think I know why as I have mixed feelings too. Imagine Marble and Granite installed new kitchen countertops for me - quartz. CJ is a great personality - really friendly, knowledgeable, offers great ideas. It was a pleasure dealing with CJ during most of my project. He made some terrific suggestions and explained the process really well. He truly seemed to care about my project. Doing a kitchen remodel is darned stressful, and by the time you're looking at countertops, you've probably already been working on things for a while and life can be pretty stressful. I was home when the installers came to put the countertops in, but then had to leave and came back after they had left. The first thing I noticed was that they had left debris everywhere and the counters weren't clean, pencil marks still on the quartz where they had drawn lines to cut, smeared glue where they put two pieces together, etc. Well, OK, by then I was pretty used to contractors leaving a mess behind, though I was a little surprised since countertops, being the finished product, would have looked better cleaned up. CJ followed up with me later that day and I mentioned that things hadn't been cleaned and he said he'd come over the next day which he did. I think even he was a little surprised by the state it had been left. He asked me what areas needed to be cleaned so I started to look for glue and pencil lines. But really, shouldn't the whole thing just have been properly cleaned?? I pointed out what I had thus far noticed and he cleaned the areas I pointed out. I then showed him how the sink had been installed askew - We had had a very specific conversation about what kind of edge I wanted at the sink. The hole for the sink had been cut properly, however when they put everything together, the installers did not properly line the sink up within the hole. The sink was pushed too far back, which left a flush edge in the front and a big lip in the back, which is most visible. CJ joked a bit that they probably just gave it a tap back and needed to give it just a nudge in the other direction and then it would have been properly centered. But, bottom line was it was all installed and glued together so nothing to be done - I have to live with it. This actually caused a problem with the plumbing installation as there was less space behind the sink than there should have been. Because I hadn't noticed ALL of the glue and CJ was only cleaning up the areas I mentioned there is one large seam in the middle of my counter that did not get cleaned up and still to this day has glue smeared all over it. In the meantime, the installers were supposed to cut and deliver 2 "trivets". I texted CJ numerous times reminding that I still hadn't received the trivets and to please just bring a rag with acetone so I could clean this last area. After weeks of no response, I ended up speaking to CJ who said it might take him a "while" to find the trivets. Well, I suspected that they had been thrown out or never made, but since he said he'd deliver I said OK. Several more weeks.. waiting... waiting. Don't you just want a contractor to be honest rather than string you along? I'm not sure why CJ just couldn't tell me the truth. A couple of days ago, he left 2 trivets at my door - I was home but he didn't knock. The trivets, however, don't match my counter. I think he tried to do the best he could - there is a similarity in the pattern. But really, I would have been more impressed if he had just given me a call to tell me the truth that they didn't have them. And finally cleaned off the glue from my counter! Bottom line, I think CJ wants to provide a good product and aside from this last few weeks, he was very friendly to deal with. However, I cannot recommend the installation side of the business - they didn't clean up and they installed the sink improperly. read more

I needed someone to drill a hole for an airgap installation into my Ikea Domsjo ceramic sink. I had spent 2 days looking for someone to do it. (You need an airgap to be up to code in California when you have a dishwasher) CJ and Rafael from Imagine Marble and Granite came to my house on time, took their time assessing the sink and found the best way to do it. It turns out that these sinks have pre-made indentations where holes can be drilled for airgaps, which I did not know prior to them taking the time to look under the sink. They were friendly and courteous. I highly recommend them. read more

We contracted Imagine Marble to install our granite for our kitchen remodel. They were, at first, the best price for the job. Rafael agreed to the job but would not return phone calls to confirm the installation date. When he finally did he quoted a price 25% more than the original quote. Gaspar, the installer, showed up and was upset at the project cabinet installer, for reasons unknown. When Gaspar showed up to outline the job he was rude and very unprofessional when my husband asked him basic questions of the installation. Gaspar returned the next day to install the granite and again, complaining about the cabinet installer, which had nothing to do with the work; it seemed personal between them . My husband asked him what was his problem was and Gaspar raised his voice and maintained he did not have to answer to him and claimed that my husband was not the one who pays him. He also mentioned that was his personality and that is how he works. The conversation escalated into a shouting match and my husband ended up asking Gaspar to leave. Gaspar's 2 co-workers seemed taken back but not surprised. Being that is was the day before Thanksgiving, my husband agreed to let Gaspar finish the job. One co-worker did apologize for the incident. When Rafael was told about the incident the same day, he didn't think much of it. His comment, was 'Wow I wonder what happened.' and chuckled. He didn't offer an apology or state he would look into what happened. Also, without a clear detail of their work, the cost was increased by 25% for back splash and cut outs, which we assumed was included. The work was satisfactory. Even with the price increase, they were still reasonable. I would give them 2 more stars if it weren't for the disrespect and the unprofessional behavior of the above mentioned installer. read more
