Finished phase 1 the next day. Then when he said phase 2 was done, he missed a portion of the caulk and needed to come back a fourth day. Three of those days I changed my work schedule for his schedule. I had to finish the caulking job myself because he said his quote didn't include some basic areas of mold. Once I bought the clear caulk, I finished the job myself in about 30 minutes. Pretty basic for a professional but he didn't seem super interested in making sure I was satisfied.

The result was standing water on the floor. The only way to deal with this problem was to squeegee and dry the entire shower every time it was used. Alex wasn't the cheapest one out there, but after reading his reviews I decided to give him a shot. It was the right decision. Alex removed the existing shower floor and re-tiled it for me. It works great! Exactly what I had hoped for. Thank you! You deserve all those 5 star reviews!! John B from Poway

Our bathrooms needed some major updating and we are so glad to have found Jimmy. The guy who installed the shower door was impressed with the work on the glass tile in our master bedroom. Jimmy and his assistant did an excellent job on my shower. If you notice, the marble swirls on the tile match up on each adjoining horizontal tile. Talk about attention to detail! Also, I was going to go in another direction regarding the bullnose tile around the window but, Jimmy described how it wouldn't look right. I'm glad I listened to the professional. Beautiful results. If I had another tile job to do, I would definitely hire Jimmy again.

David Gonzales was referred to me by a local tile company as someone who was great to work with and…read morehe was! He is a General Contractor and can basically do anything you need done from large projects to small. Once he started our job, we were his sole focus and he came every day with his team of guys he has known and worked with for many years. I had a major flood in my house from a pipe leak in the bathroom which required a total gutting and remodeling of my bathroom, new luxury plank flooring throughout the entire house, installation of 2 new French doors and then painting of the entire house. My bathroom is amazing - I turned a tub into a walk in shower and picked some challenging tiles to work with - 3 D for the shower and mosaic for the shower floor. The bathroom is gorgeous! Then it was on to removing the water damaged old wood flooring in the entire house and replacing it with LVP floors which looks fantastic. Other contractors told us we would have to move all our furniture and ourselves out for about a month at a significant cost to do this work but David said he would move our furniture from room allowing us to stay in our house. This was a lot of work for David and crew who carefully moved our furniture and "stuff" from room to room and putting everything back where it was originally. One of the most important things about David is his desire to please the customer. If you are not absolutely happy with something, he will work to make it perfect. His job satisfaction comes from the customer's happiness with the project. I cannot recommend David Gonzales enough and his professional and courteous crew.

My favorite was that they showed care and consideration to protect our home while completing the job. So happy we picked them to help us get our bathroom renovation to the finish line! Like I said above, it's been a year since they completed this job and I'm still as happy as when they finished on day 1! No grouting issues, no lippage, no complaints! Just beautiful, clean tiling! I worked with Ed frequently at a former job working for the "Cadillac of Tile Showrooms" here in San Diego, Unique Stone Imports. He completed a number of very intricate and detailed jobs for my clients always to rave reviews. So when it was time to hire an installer for my own home's kitchen back-splash, Ed was my go-to guy. He did an absolutely beautiful job installing my 3x6 glass brick tile and was a pleasure to work with. I am so happy with my new kitchen splash and would hire Ed again in a heart beat.

After I waited 4 days for Ed to start my job, he notified me the day he was supposed to start to postpone my start date yet again for another 4 days. Once he finally got started he threatened to quit the first day because I wanted to verify some information with my drywall company before he did tile layout in one of the bathrooms. This would not hinder him getting started in any of the other 4 areas he was supposed to be installing tile in. Once he arrived on site he started telling me he couldn't do the layout that we had discussed because he would have to make too many cuts to the tiles. He also said he couldn't put the niche, that we discussed, in the shower wall, 'cause he didn't seem to know how to prep and center it. Basically, he was cutting back on the amount of work to be done but offering no reduction in price. I asked him if there was a possibility of changing the tile direction in the second bathroom from vertical to horizontal before he started that room. He explained that he had already started that bathroom and had a few tiles on the wall so I agreed to stick to the original plan. Just having the conversation upset him so much he walked off the job and would not respond to my texts or phone calls for the rest of the day. That night he emailed me to tell me he was quitting and keeping the 35% deposit I gave him even though he had only done 15% of the scope of work agreed upon. He also wasted 2 boxes of expensive floor tile that he installed incorrectly had to tear out and reinstall. I think if he were paying for the materials he might have been more careful. Not only did he rip me off and waste my materials but left me in a lurch because I was out of town and he knew my other contractors were waiting on him to get the tile work done so they could proceed with their work. Good luck to anyone that would be foolish enough to give Ed Shepherd a deposit up front to "get the job started". What a waste of time and money!!!
