What started as a promising experience quickly turned into frustration due to poor communication, unexpected additional charges, and a lack of attention to detail. Several items discussed during the initial walkthrough resulted in additional fees, with the company repeatedly referring back to the fine print in the contract rather than taking accountability for expectations that should have been clearly communicated upfront.
As someone who works with contractors daily in property management, I understand the importance of contracts, project scope, communication, and customer service. For the amount of money invested in this project, I expected a much higher level of professionalism and organization.
Unfortunately, there were numerous issues throughout the project:
* Lack of communication: There was little to no direction on how to prepare for the first day of work, what areas would be addressed, or what to expect throughout the process.
* No proactive final walkthrough: A final walkthrough was not offered on the last day of the project. I had to specifically request one.
* Damage and overspray: Personal belongings and flooring were left with paint on them. My ceilings, which were not included in the project, were not properly masked and now have visible overspray and discoloration.
* Unexpected additional charges: Items that were removed during the project were not reinstalled without additional payment, no expectations established during the initial discussions.
* Lack of cleanup: While I fully expected dust and disruption during a project of this size, I did not expect the lack of cleanup afterward.
* Safety concerns: Ladders were left in my backyard, along with nails and screws in areas accessible to my children and three dogs. This is completely unacceptable.
What is most frustrating is that many of these issues could have been avoided with better communication, proper preparation, and basic attention to detail. Instead, I repeatedly felt as though I had to follow up, ask questions, and advocate for things that should have been standard practice.
I do want to recognize Mel and Chris, who worked on the cabinets. They were pleasant and professional, and I appreciated their efforts. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the overall experience.
Customer service should not end once a contract is signed and payment is secured. A company's reputation should be reflected in the entire customer experience, from the initial consultation to the final walkthrough and cleanup.
I selected Lifetime Painting based on its reputation and the confidence I initially had in Luis. Unfortunately, the execution, communication, and overall customer experience fell significantly short of those expectations.
For a project of this size and financial investment, I expected far better. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this company based on my experience.
