This is my favorite breakfast place in Gloucester. It is also a great place to eat lunch! All the food is made with great care and exactly like you want it. I don't even like corned-beef hash, but the corned-beef hash here is made from scratch and absolutely delicious. Add a couple benedict style eggs on top of the hash, and you are satisfied until dinner. The homemade breads are worth the trip alone. Dottie's homemade chili is always great. The staff is very friendly and you get great service even when the place is very busy. read more

Went here for breakfast and loved the selection. Parking is limited and it's a very crowded place but service was great. Our waitress was so very happy and that makes a difference! I had the hash and it was great. No complaints from anyone at the table and it felt like our water glasses never got half empty. If I lived in Gloucester, I'd go here all the time for breakfast as it's so much better than the other places. I would give a negative rating if I could l. I arrived at 12pm which is about 1 hour before the posted closing time of 1pm on a Saturday. As I was walking in I was admonisded out by a rude women who told me they were closed. I then pointed out the sign that said they were open another hour but was then told that was wrong abd again rushed out. An excellent no-frills breakfast complete with a VERY colorful staff. The owner and servers were hilariously crude and rambunctious. There are only a few tables which makes a wait almost guaranteed but once you are seated, it is one of the quickest and most efficient that I have ever seen a serving staff. I got the typical egg and potato breakfast with linguica (wish they had that stuff in Philly) and everything was delicious. Nothing fancy, just really well made. It is obvious that the staff really cares about putting out great food. Coffee was very good. Definitely my first choice for breakfast in Gloucester. read more

Took a two day vacation to Gloucester for the first time. Found Two Sisters and it was hands down the best breakfast experience my wife and I had. It is a small venue, but worth the wait if you encounter one. The food was amazing. They bake their own bread and have a variety to choose from. I think what really topped off our experience was the owner. She was our waitress and never stopped moving. She could double as a stand up comedian as well! Cash only! They do not take credit cards, nor is it posted in the restaurant that i saw. Had to walk a block to an atm in the rain to comeback and pay. That was annoying because they should have it posted for the out of towners that Yelp brings in that dont know they are cash only. That's my only complaint tho, i had a nice breakfast, ordered the Eggs Benedict and they were cooked perfectly. It's a small place so, don't be surprised if you have to wait for a table. read more

I've only been here once before and it was about a year ago. That first experience was good from what I remember, but not impressive enough to make me want to return. Since then I've eaten breakfast in Gloucester primarily at George's and Zeke's, with George's being my favorite. Well, after my recent visit to Two Sisters, it looks like George's #1 spot on my breakfast joint list could be in jeopardy. I am always in the mood for something different, so having read a few of the Yelp reviews for Two Sisters this morning, and after seeing their specials in the window, my girlfriend and I decided to give this place another try. It was crowded inside, but there was a table by the window looking out onto the street that was available. The service was prompt and there as needed. The restaurant overall much neater and cleaner than I had remembered. The menu was a lot bigger than I was expecting (had they added to it in the past year?) and I liked seeing all the various omelets and eggs Benedicts being offered. They also had some unique breakfast combinations and items almost comparable to that of Sugar Magnolias. The prices seemed okay, a bit more perhaps than that of George's. I had ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits with a side of home fries and two eggs over easy. It was delicious and a good amount of food (perfect for me, as I ate every bite and did not feel overly stuffed, but then again I can eat quite a lot). The home fries were moist and prepared in a way I'm not used to seeing in coffee shops - without any seasoning, but tasty nonetheless and a good compliment to the sausage gravy. The eggs were idyllic over easy and the right amount of runny. My girlfriend ordered a breakfast combo with two eggs over easy, hash browns, linguica, and two pancakes. Being a big fan of George's pancakes, she thought these were more fluffier and better overall. She did think the eggs were too runny, so next time she'll remember to order eggs over medium. The entire meal was $21 and change including one coffee, one juice, and tax. My girlfriend had leftovers to bring home too. Only complaints were that I didn't get an automatic refill on my coffee (although I didn't need one) and the main door into the place slammed shut every time someone used it. The food was excellent HOWEVER it was a 45 min wait to get it. Yup 45 minutes for breakfast. What did we order? Strawberry pancakes and a omelet. THe kicker is we had our 1 year old with us. Try entertaining a hungry toddler at the table for 45 mins. The waitress checked in 2 times with us and said no food yet. I said if it doesn't come quick we are leaving. Then magically we got it. Two Sisters is the best place in Gloucester for sweet breakfast treats - worth the line! Hands down! And we have tried them all. The pancakes were fluffy and light and so, so, so good! The best that I have had out ever!! I love the buttermilk pancakes and the banana pancakes. (If you prefer savory breakfasts, head to Charlie's Place. If one of you only prefers sweet and the other only savory - breakfast at the Atlantis Inn on Atlantic Avenue is your best bet. This is an awesome little place for breakfast. The customer service is outstanding and the food is pretty good too! I'm always a little leery about places that only accept cash but these guys were really cool about it. The waitress assured me to just take my time and order and I could go get cash later or whatever. She was very attentive and super nice. It was refreshing because most restaurants in the Boston area aren't known for great customer service. The food is very affordable and the atmosphere is pleasant. Great old-school North Shore/New England shop, the type that has mostly disappeared. Excellent food, on par with any great hole-in-the-wall cafe in NY. These ladies keep it rolling, there's a sense of community and no-filter honesty and warmth that feels like going home. Whether you're a first-timer (they're super welcoming and genuinely appreciate answering tourist questions) or a seasoned regular. Definitely on the short rotation of go-to for breakfast and coffee. Two Sisters has two wall calendars. Readers of "Blue Highways" will recognize this as a very good rating--well-deserved in the case of 2S. (no calendars = hurry-up food cooked elsewhere & heated on premises--4-calendar & you might find home-made pie). I had biscuits & sausage gravy (with copious amounts of real sausage), & eggs O/E. Great atmosphere--one of the few places left (that I know of) that still caters to locals. I suspect they may have more calendars in the back. read more

Been going here regularly and always enjoyed the great food and excellent service, but today the sisters weren't there and there was a distinct change in the service and quality of food. It took forever to get our order of blueberry pancakes and a pumpkin pancake. The people who came in after us got there order before us an the server never even checked up on us. Maybe the kitchen got messed up because they went outside to feed a truck full of dogs some treats and forgot about their regular customers. BTW, the blueberry pancakes were slightly burned and served so as not to see it. Never going back on a Saturday. read more

One of my favorite lil diners in the area. Definitely the best diner in Gloucester being at the golden mean of cheapest/best food/shortest wait. Service was poor. Waitress named Lisa was miserable. She actually said to another customer that she doesn't have tolerance for people. She had a sour look on her face the entire time we were there. She is clearly in the wrong job! Neither the owner or Lisa ( not sure if she is one of the sisters?) paid no attention to us. Lisa never asked how our meal was and if we needed anything like a refill on our coffee during our meal. The food was mediocre. Stale bread for toast. Found this place on Yelp, decided to try it after all the positive reviews. What a great little place, you feel that small town vibe as soon as you walk in the door(we are from out of town). I ordered Eggs Benedict , hubby had Irish Eggs Benedict, both were delicious. The waitress brought us a complimentary piece of Anadama bread cause we've never heard of it and we were talking about local foods. Would highly recommend this place! We waited over 45 mins to get our food, did not get our complete order and our waitress rarely came by to refill coffee/let us know how much longer the wait would be. I can't handle attitude of this magnitude! The sisters were super sassy from the moment we walked in.. I asked them how long the wait was and they looked at me like I asked them to calculate the trajectory of the moon's orbit around the earth. They gave me the lazy eyed look of a milk cow, sighed and grunted "I dont know, look around". After waiting half an hour some of our party was down the street grabbing coffee and they refused to seat us until everyone was present, and proceeded to seat a two person party on the only table large enough to seat us. We were told we'd have to wait until they finished their breakfast to be seated. We happily took our service elsewhere. read more
