Best place in town. I go here several times a month with my kids. Consistency is amazing, tastes as amazing as the last visit.

Taco Bell is a better alternative. My burrito cost more then my last 3 meals that week. Sauces were lumpy and bland.

Awesome honey jalapeño sauce. Delicious pork and chicken tacos. Fresh salsa and guacamole. Worth the ride to Westfield.

Why buy big chain burritos when your local place will take your dollars and spend them locally? The burritos are wholesome and nourishing.

After the big St. Patrick's Day Race, we stopped in after Yelp suggested this was both on our way home AND a better bet than the food trucks. We were surprised that parking was a breeze, with multiple entrances. The seating os designed to fit couples or larger groups comfortably, and you can tell the local love to sit around the long bar and chat. We loved our booth! The staff was quick, knew a lot about the different food options, and cocktail selection and beer selection was great. We chose a different cocktail from the list, and shared a bunch of appetizers. The sprouts were good, and the wings were tasty. I think the only thing that got a "nah" was the crab cake. I definitely have it on my list to go back for a meal, noting several dinner specials that met my creative palette.

Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated in the bar area, which features a long bar and high-top tables. They have a solid selection of beer and alcohol. We started with the chili, topped with cheese and served with chips for dipping--it was delicious. My wife ordered the turkey club, while I opted for the tomato bisque with a grilled cheese sandwich. She enjoyed her club, and I loved my grilled cheese; it was very cheesy and made with Texas toast. However, I found the bisque a bit too thick for my taste. The servers were friendly, and we'll definitely return. I learned that they have separate lunch and dinner menus--unfortunately, I didn't realize I was looking at the dinner menu when I saw the steak, which isn't available during lunch.

The corn ribs were 10x better…read morethan the bar in Tarrytown, NY that introduced me to the idea of corn ribs which was a welcome treat because I LOVE this trend/idea. This time I got the braised pork and polenta and this one is on me because I don't usually like braised pork or polenta too much but it sounded interesting and I wanted to try it. It wasn't my favorite but that's more about my taste than anything. The peach crumble was absolutely spectacular and I'm glad they learned from last time and made the ice cream sweeter (the creme fraiche on the dessert I got last time was not sweet whatsoever). Can't wait to see what's on the menu next time I'm here! 7/3/25: God, I love it here! This year, I got two mocktails, the ruby Tuesday and orange lovely, because I couldn't choose and loved both of them! Then I started with the pickled carrots which were absolutely delectable. The turmeric honey and chili oil sauce was absolutely PERFECT. If I wasn't worried about social standing I would've licked that plate clean. I never thought I would enjoy eating carrots so much. Then came my queso mac and cheese that I took myself I would only eat half of so I could take the rest home and not hurt my stomach but I couldn't help myself. This was one of the best mac and cheese I've ever ordered at a restaurant. It was made with cotijia, had tortilla chips and cilantro in it with onion on top to pull it all together. Chef's kiss. I had to get dessert since I only come once a year and this orange almond cake was SOOOO GOOOD ughhhh I wish this restaurant was in Westchester I'm an avid nuts-in-dessert hater and this cake had me eating spoonfuls of almonds. I think they converted me. It was so moist and sticky and beautiful and the almonds were perfectly toasted and crispy without being like chewing on rocks. I am obsessed. 10/11/25: Back at my favorite restaurant! Got to have some new variations of the great things I loved in the past: fire roasted peppers (this time with ricotta!) and pickled carrots with turnips. I also got the orange lovely again because it was favorite of the two I got last time. So yummy still! I also got the general tso cauliflower and it was so good but also spicy!! Now this butter braised tomato soup was absolutely fantastic. Best tomato soup I've ever had. And the plum galette was perfection. I really have no notes because as I keep saying, everything I ever get from here is absolutely fantastic.

Amazing! Fantastic! Unbelievable!Highly recommended!!!!…read more This is the second time we have held a function at Shortstop Bar & Grill. My husband's retirement party was held there years ago. Last Saturday, we had a baby shower at SS and all we can say is "Outstanding"! Monica and her team of professionals were attentive and accommodating from day 1. The banquet room was large and easy to decorate. The area easily held our party of 60 people. The food was so, so very good, hot and plentiful! We chose the lunch buffet with terrific dishes to choose from. The per person luncheon fee was reasonable, especially because there were no other fees to use the room. If we needed anything at all we need only to ask. Monica treated us like we were family. They even went over and above the call of duty for us! In our haste to clean up, some important papers were thrown away. I texted Monica as soon as we found they were missing and she got to work on it. Monica had her Dad go through the trash bags from our room and FOUND the envelope!!! Talk about exceptional service!!!! We will definitely be back.
