In. A. Heartbeat! That's how fast I would recommend Tucker's to cater another family event. In June of 2022, I planned a delayed "Celebration of Life" service and luncheon reception for our mom who passed away in January of 2021. With covid worries and restrictions, I best guessed on numbers on who might attend, thinking about 125 total. Meeting with Mike Anderson (Executive chef/co-owner) and his wife Karen (event manager/co-owner) and choosing Tucker's to cater our tent reception was one of the best decisions I made. I wanted a delicious and elegant affair, fitting for our mom who enjoyed a long and active social life, was a generous hostess widely known for her food and hospitality, and who appreciated fine dining. Together with Mike and Karen, we planned a party that she would have loved attending. The presentation was elegant, creative, beautiful, and all of the food delicious. Bottom line: Tucker's exceeded my family's and my very high expectations. Reviewing the catering menu together, we came up with a shared vision of the event. Both Karen and Mike offered choices to consider, and both were also open to my suggestions for menu modifications. When the final numbers reached 170 and I was worried about fitting people under our tent, Karen offered her event planning expertise and suggested high top tables to rent. Their combined creativity and suggestions were right on--every time. I wanted to incorporate some food from our cultural heritage to personalize the event, as well as use some family heirloom serving pieces. The result-they listened, and they did so, seamlessly. Their staff was accommodating, pleasant, and professional. The buffet style food and presentation received rave reviews from family and friends, who attended from near and far. We have been coming to Tucker's for quite sometime now, and are amazed how great it is. Everything is so fresh and the presentation is mouth watering. One of the specials was Chicken Parm, and I am a chicken parm snob. I have been searching for it since one of my favorite Parm place closed years ago. It was beyond Fabulous, from the sauce to how the chicken was made, OMG, delicious. Love their Chicken Corden Blue, my husband had a Filet that he said was cooked perfectly and so good he wanted to return the next night..... and we did. I took home two meals to go.. Tuckers is one of the nicer restaurants to go to lunch in in the Southwick/Westfield area. They offer a Creative menu of lunch specials, which are more than sandwiches. They have different pasta and fish specials as wellWe have always like to go here if I was looking for a quiet spot to meet with a friend because the atmosphere is very comfortable. They also have a bar area if you choose to go later in the evening, (Or are having a bad morning ha ha),or a banquet room if you have an event. The general lunch crowd is usually a full table of active On their ladies or couples sitting around large roundtables, so this is a great place to have a lunch meeting with six to eight people and not be stuck in a booth. The servers are always polite, and it looked like the manager was walking around making sure everybody was OK. I had the mushroom ravioli, which looked homemade, with a truffle sauce. It wasn't my favorite truffle sauce as it was a little bit cream heavy and the butter had separated. But it was a good size for lunch.My friend had something that came with the finger potatoes which also looked very good. The dessert menu was interesting and they had a seasonal parfait available that sounded delicious, but the parfait sauce was out so we had it anyways. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because this lunch prices went up quite a bit since the last time I came here, and I wish it was a little more affordable than a $12-$15 plate of food for lunch. Food came out in only a few minutes, decently sized portions and tasted pretty good. The wait time alone would make it pretty great, but still stuff tasted good. Ambiance could use some work, but it wasn't like a terrible experience. Expansive menu as well. My son wanted to go there for his birthday. I had read the reviews and was excited to go. I ordered rolls which had no flavor. The Asian salad was good except for the sweet potato fries which were not cooked thoroughly. I ordered the pot pie what I got was not a pot pie. I received a plate of stew which was lukewarm and was cold halfway through the meal, their was a piece of pastry/biscuit which I did not bother to try, and a pile of mash potatoes. I did let the waitress know I did not like it (it was taken off my bill). My son had stuffed shrimp with a topping of crackers and butter and two piles of horrible mashed potatoes and squash. Both of us looked at each other and were totally disappointed with our meal. Both of us love sweets however we did not even bother to order a dessert. The staff was very friendly, however, I go to a restaurant for the food not the staff. The chef needs to go back to culinary school. read more

Such a nice restaurant to dine in for a special occasion or just somewhere different to eat. The owner is always there in the kitchen making food and watching over his staff. His wife is always found navigating table to table making sure everything is to your satisfaction. Not to mention they have tasty martinis! After a few good experiences here, had a horrible one and don't know if they can recover from it. The food has generally been very solid, so kudos there and it's the only reason they don't get one star. Our problem came when we ordered a drink and it didn't taste the way we wanted it to. I explicitly told the server I am paying for it and don't expect them to eat it not knowing if it was our issue tasting it, or if it was poured wrong. We order another drink and I once again reiterated to the server that I wanted to pay for that drink and she said they took it off. She seemed perturbed like I was trying to scam them. About five minutes later I asked for the same drink with a little less of an ingredient and we were told that we cannot get that drink anymore. The waitress was short and just walked away. Not sure if she thought someone was too intoxicated for another, which wasn't the case, but she comes back later and persist with telling me the manager said we cannot have another since the bar removed it. I find this odd since I offered twice clearly to pay for it, not faulting the bar. This conversation continued with the server saying she doesn't make the rules and this was on the manager. Apparently I couldn't just pay for it and try another a different way. This is the epitome of customer service, right? May I add, if you don't know the restaurant, this isn't a sit down Burger King, so you'd expect some flexibility with service. We were made to feel like we were trying to scam the restaurant and I honestly think it came down to us being dressed more casual that other patrons, full disclosure, we did leave the Metallica shirt at home, so we weren't too redneck. In fairness, the manager did attempt to make it better and seemed apologetic, so that was appreciated, but....when you're made to feel like a kid by a server and made to feel like you were trying to pull one over on someone, this obvious shows they can't assume the best of intentions and this wasn't an anomaly, this was culture embedded in the server, which really worried me about how the place was managed. If you go, God forbid, do not attempt to return anything, when their policy is to bar you from ordering it again the way you like it. read more

This has been on my family's "go to" list for a few years now and, living in Hawaii, this was my first visit. I made a reservation for 5 people a few days prior and the person who answered the phone was so professional. First impressions are so important for me and she was spot on. Walked in at our reservation time and was seated right away. Not crowded yet, but filled up within half an hour. Server approached immediately and took drink orders, smiling the whole time. She was so friendly and does her job very well. Many of the local restaurant servers have been a little sub-par for my standards, but she was awesome. Menu is not overwhelming, so choices are easily made. I had to go for the chicken pot pie, and despite previous reviews, it was so delicious. Tons of chicken, great sauce, flakey crust...couldn't have been better. Three of the people in the party ordered the pot roast and cleaned their plates. We also started with the appetizer special crab cakes and they satisfied us all...3 cakes, tons of crab (not breading) and a local corn salsa accompaniment. Drinks stayed full all night, food was delivered in a timely manner and the place was packed. They service was impeccable and so friendly. I only visit the area once a year, but can't wait to return to Tucker's for another meal. read more

Went to Tuckers tonight for a birthday celebration. There was 10 of us. Everyone seemed pleased with their meal except me. I ordered the scallops and they didn't taste right. I love scallops and and they were very fishy tasting. I tried to eat them because I was hungry but gave up. By the time I got home I wasn't feeling well at all. Tuckers has a good reputation for good food so I guess my only advice is don't order the scallops! read more

We always have a great experience here. The chicken pot pie is my favorite but occasionally I try one of the creative specials.

Food was "eh", and a rockin Friday night was better suited for a rocking chair, as the majority of our fellow diners we're in the blue plate special crowd. The server was really nice though. We shared the bacon wrapped scallops (only 3 for 2 people for $10?!?), the pot pie was good, and the seafood casserole was good, but both were rather bland and lacking in real flavor. I have been here twice for parties in their banquet rooms and the food was alright. I have also been twice for dinner. The first time was okay, but the second time was horrible. They actually served my son chicken tenders and potato wedges that looked like they were floating in the fryer all day long. Unless it is for a party, I will not step foot in this restaurant again. read more

I hate to do this! I really really do! I'm writing this review on behalf of my mother who recently used Tucker's for my bridal shower. (Obviously, this is no reflection on my bridesmaids, who clearly deserve 5 starts due to their awesomeness.) Obviously I was busy the whole time mingling and opening presents, so the only thing I can comment on personally is the food. I had some form of chicken, and it was meh. I understand that it was a larger event so sometimes quantity lessens the quality. Other concerns included that the coordinator of the shower (unsure of her name) only contacted my mother once to confirm details prior to the event. Maybe not a huge deal, but what IS always good practice is to follow up with a phone call or email to see how your customers felt about the event after the fact. When someone is dropping approximately a grand on a Saturday morning for something, give them a courtesy call the next week to see how everything went. read more

Well I visited Tucker's with my grandmother last week. This was the third time I have been to Tucker's and each time I have gone, my food was just Ok. I ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer, and I was disappointed they were small and there were only three. They were not as sweet or as juicy as I was hoping, but overall, they were edible. For my meal, I ordered the French Meat Pie, which seemed a bit expensive.. In my opinion, the crust was undercooked, soggy, and much too salty, while the inside seemed dry and too dark. I feel that the quality of food for the price was not good enough, but my grandmother ordered the corned beef and she enjoyed her meal, so perhaps it was just the meat pie that was disappointing. In the future, I will request that we go to a different restaurant with a higher quality meal. read more

This is an outstanding place to eat. I have been there multiple times for special occasions as well as stopping in for lunch or dinner. I've always found the staff to be both very helpful as well as professional. The prices are very reasonable, and the food here is excellent. The menu is constantly being updated and I love coming back again and again to see their new specials. They brew their own Root Beer too. The deserts and entrees are phenomenal! The appetizers and drinks are even better. The atmosphere is excellent and the flow of the resturant is great. I feel like Mike and Karen invite me into their home every time I go there. read more
