And place is going strong still plus they very authentic & this time I got myself a burrito bowl with carne asada protein plus had Spanish rice, onions, black beans, cilantro, corn and salsa. Pretty good regardless of what you get & extra note place has authentic Mexican soda/alcohol/spirits & so a extra bonus if you're at MGM Springfield that's a affiliate there & staff is great including making sure if you call them up your order is accurate and made correctly. Service/atmosphere is another plus again and I'm glad I came back to inform you.

"I knew a girl, she was a macho man But it's alright, I wasn't fooled for long" (Talking Heads) Macho Taco is a medium sized taqueria and Mexican restaurant that has some pretty nice specials to get you in there on Mondays ($8 Quesadillas), Tuesdays (half off on tacos), and Wednesdays ($8 burritos). We were there on a Friday, so enjoyed no such discounts, but the two of us did have a very good lunch for a little over $26 after tax. Food We were pretty impressed by the range of their menu. They have eight appetizers (think nachos, elote corn, jalapeno poppers), entrees (quesadillas, burritos, flautas, enchiladas, chimichangas), street tacos, and specialty tacos. Just about everything is under $15 (the street tacos are under $4) and the most expensive thing on the menu is a double sized Macho Burrito for $20.99. We ordered a $10.50 Chicken Quesadilla. It came on a flour tortilla and was pretty packed with cheese and chicken, plus some chopped lettuce and tomato and a small container of sour cream. Sometimes similar restaurants offer a small container of pico, salsa, guacamole, etc., but not here. The portion was good sized and half came home with us. BTW, you can upgrade your quesadilla with rice and beans for $6 if you are so inclined. Our other order was a fish taco and a calamari taco at $5.99 each. Both were served on a corn tortilla with chipotle aioli, shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, and sprinkle of queso fresco. The fish taco was very good with a good-sized portion of crispy beer battered fish inside all of that goodness. The calamari taco had bonus of a layer of melted cheese on the corn tortilla, but I was somewhat disappointed by the calamari. It was just two breaded and fried rings, and one of them was "minúsculo", if you catch my drift. But, hey for $6 it was still good. The taco fixings were excellent, and I especially liked the fresh and crisp shredded cabbage. We split a bottle of water for $2. Service There was just one young lady at the ordering counter, and she did a good job keeping the line moving and was helpful when we had some menu questions. After we ordered, she gave us a number to place on our table and the food came out in a very reasonable time. Hot sauces, napkins, and plastic silverware are self-service at the counter. When we finished our lunch, we needed a takeout box for our leftovers. There was no one at the counter, so we helped ourselves at the stack of them off to the side behind the counter. Ambience They have two dining sections at the front of the store and down the side wall beyond the counter, so there are plenty of tables and chairs to sit at. The décor is colorful yellow and orange walls, black and white checked floor tiles, with a few Lucha masks and Mexican inspired artwork and wall decorations. Conclusion The food was solid! Delicious, generously portioned and reasonably priced. If you're in the area and have a craving for Mexican food, you'll enjoy your visit. BTW, I didn't mention that parking is super easy. They're in a strip mall with plenty of spaces. PRO TIP They sell plenty of beers, including three Mexican cervezas.

Location has ample parking. Spacious interior. Quick service. Tacos taste great! If you are super hungry the birria vampiro hit the bill just right. However, I was not too hungry so it taste very greasy to me. I held it with napkins and the grease passed through 3 ply of napkins. The other tacos had the fresh ingredients and do taste like the street tacos that I know of.

We were staying in Holyoke and decided to go check out some places for shopping, when we found this little gem. Solid 10 on the queer-o-meter. It's a low key, no frills place with a limited menu. But what they do offer is deliciousness on a tortilla! You can't go in here expecting table service and an expansive menu of fajitas and table side guacamole. You order at the counter, the woman was super nice, then sit and wait. We got shrimp tacos, chips and salsa, and a burrito bowl (vegetarian) It was perfect. Fresh ingredients and full of flavour. Cheers!

    Enchilada Tacos

The food at Macho Taco is much to be desired and leaves you with nothing but a feeling of satisfaction. The nachos with Birria are loaded with toppings and flavor. The enchilada tacos are creative, crispy, and loaded with toppings. The Birria Tacos were crispy and paired incredibly well with the consommé (but after trying the enchilada tacos in it as well I can't imagine any food that doesn't). All three items were split between two people and even though I arrived very hungry I left satisfied. If you are in the area and looking for some easy Mexican food Macho Tacos is the place to be.

After seeing that MGM Springfield opened a location, a group of friends and I decided to check out the original macho taco. It's located in a strip mall, a few mins away from Springfield. It's right next to a karate dojo, similar to the Netflix show "cobra Kai". It's a smaller restaurant, it offers seating for about 30 people max. The menu offers your classic grab and go Mexican staples (tacos, burritos, quesadillas, Etc). I got tacos, corn, and quesadilla for over 20 dollars. The food was ok. I expected much more after hearing all of the hype. The Birra tacos didn't blow me away like I expected. Everything was just ok at the end of the day.

Had Macho Taco at The Big E. Birria Tacos were good and filled with meat. It went well with the consommé. The Birria ramen on the other hand, was not good at all. Lacked flavor and had no meat.

This is the best taco place I've ever been to!! We had the birria, elote fries, salsa and churros . Everything fantastic the server very nice and was awesome 11/10 couldn't get photos of everything

Low key place with excellent food. It runs as a take out place, and you can order then sit down to dine in.

It is in the middle of an Enfield neighborhood featuring restored Victorian houses. The inside decor is colorful and features a bar area and a separate dining area. My waitress/bar tender was friendly and attentive. I have high hopes for this place that serves authentic Mexican food..like I used to get in Texas. It was 4:30pm and there were five people eating. They do have a bar license and serves pretty big sized drinks. I don't think you will be disappointed.

The food was delicious and the margaritas were both tasty and potent. Free chips and salsa, with the added plus for me being that regardless of which taco plate I chose, they gave me the option of crunchy (hard shell) tacos, which I prefer. Over the years, I've vacationed in Mexico and worked for Big Sugar in Belle Glade, so I'm no stranger to authentic Mexican cuisine. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and a friendly "¡Hola!"--spoken w passion. Luckily, I know enough conversational Spanish to keep up, and I was seated near the front of the restaurant. The colorful menu practically told me what to order: Sopa de Camarones, Birria Tacos, and a fresh Jugo de Melón (watermelon juice). The waitress was incredibly welcoming and soon returned with a basket of warm tortilla chips and three kinds of salsa. That's when I knew--I had found the real deal. One salsa was mild, the second had a medium kick, and the third--an orange one--was pure fire . I laughed to myself and thought, "Yup, this is going to be good." And it was. All three salsas were absolutely delicious. Then came the food: a steaming bowl of shrimp soup and a plate of mouthwatering birria tacos. The smell alone made my stomach growl. The shrimp broth was rich and flavorful--absolutely hypnotic. I'd order it again without hesitation. As for the tacos? I smothered them in the green salsa and devoured them so fast, it was like I was drinking them. I was that hungry--and they were that good. This was the first truly authentic Mexican meal I've had since leaving South Florida. I'll definitely be coming back.
