I had an appointment with the owner who wasn't there when I arrived so I had to give instructions to someone else. Apparently, they didn't bother to pass on my instructions and basically butchered my dog. I said no haircut and they cut off way too much of his fur. His big beautiful bushy tail is now a wisp of what it was. His ears are cut short. He looks awful!! They kept him for 4 1/2 hours even though I had an appointment. He was so traumatized when we got home that he slept all evening and refused to eat dinner. Also, the place stinks - install an exhaust fan!! Never again!! read more

I've been taking my shih tzu there since he had his first set of shots. We go least monthly, he's boarded there too for my weekend trips, and he loves it there. Everyone is so kind and it's apparent the animals are loved. Hair cuts are always perfect and I feel safe when he stays (I get picture updates). read more

I had asked my daughter to take my pug to get groomed and she called this place, thinking it was the place I wanted. They confirmed at appointment at 2 pm when, they never were supposed to groom him. They were trying to take my business when, they shouldn't have. That is just horrible. My daughter went in their to tell them they had messed up and they were rude about it and I was also told by my daughter, that the place is dirty, stinks and the people in there were very rude. I can't believe that a business, would do such a thing and try to take another businesses clients. People these days, just don't care about others anymore. If you plan on boarding your pet here, tour the place first. We were contimplating leaving our dog here while we went on vacation. We asked for a behind the scenes tour (I wouldn't leave my dog in a place unless I've seen where he'll be staying). We were very disappointed. Large dogs confined in tiny cages, not sanitary and far from clean. We ended up picking another place to board our dog, so I can't say we've used this place. But I do highly recommend touring before boarding! read more

I would definately NOT recommend this place! This business is not very sanitary, looks very messy, it smells and there is hair EVERYWHERE. I have a year old, two pound little Lhasa Apso dog I had groomed here, I asked for a bath and TRIM, specifically asking to just clean her up and not cut off that much hair, they nearly shaved her! Leaving her ears and tail long resembling a poodle. I was very dissapointed! I was told the price for the "trim" would be around $25, they ended up charging me $40! It's safe to say I will not be going back here. read more

This place is a mess.I feel like when I come here they don't really listen to what I want to be done.I've brought one of my dogs before and I said I wanted a sanitary trim,nail clip and a bath and they seem to of only gotten the bath part down...I came here again the other day with my dog for a trim,nail clip, and bath and her nails weren't clipped and her fur was still long.At least they trimmed her paws this time.I pay $30, I expect something better for my money rather then not to be listened to. read more

HORRIBLE place. I brought my cat to get groomed back in Nov 2013. Inside, you can smell stale cigarette and wet dog smell....very unprofessional. But the lady seemed nice enough....that's always the kiss of death. When I picked up my cat and brought her home, none of her nails were trimmed, she smelled of cigarettes, and all the fur shavings were still stuck to her body. And she wasn't even dry. I was ANGRY. I took her back the next morning and told them they better finish the job they started. They were polite enough, but still I was angry. About a month later, my cat (who is indoors only and has no other contact with any other animal, and has never had a flea problem) began itching quite excessively and then the flea droppings started. She developed such a bad hot spot down by her tail, it is really a conglomeration of 3 smaller hot spots turned into one ginormosity of poor grooming skills. And the house is infested with fleas, thanks to the dirty practices of this groomer. Please, if you love your animals DONT take them here. read more

This place is amazing! They are the best in town, and the best I've seen in central California. Julie and the staff are so incredibly friendly and helpful, I always leave feeling comfortable. They are still so nice to my baby girl even though she has attempted to attack staff numerous times lol. I don't have family here that can check on her when I need to go out of town, but at Two Paws Up I feel like I do. For starters, it is family owned and truly loves what they do. I genuinely wish there was more people like this in the world working in animal care and providing the love and support that pets need. I will really miss this place when I relocate for school, but know where I am taking my kitty whenenver I'm in town and need her to be boarded! I think people who left comments are making this shop sound bad, but i have never seen the place dirty. I have seen hair from the dogs being groomed and i also see the hair being cleaned up as soon as the dogs are done being groomed. Lets speak some truth. I would never bring my dogs some where that was not clean and i bring my dogs in every month. My dogs look and smell great. This place is a DISASTER!! Negative stars!! I took my cocker into two paws up and I should have listened to my gut when I dropped her off. When I picked her up, her ear was bleeding profusely! They clipped her so close to her ear that they cut her. I had to take her to the vet to get stitches later that day because it wouldn't stop bleeding. To top it off, I do not think they gave her any water because she was parched when I got her home. read more

I've been bringing my dog here for quite some time, but never had such an awful experience as I did the last visit. My dog is a bit high maintenance, but I've checked with the groomers after every visit, and they've always said he was fine. When I went into the groomers to pick him up, it was clear this groomer was very unhappy about having to deal with my dog and speaking unabashedly about him to one of the other workers. She didn't realize I was standing there nor that I was his owner. When she brought him out, she said she had a very difficult time with him. Must have been an understatement, because he had cuts all over him and we couldn't even get his collar on without him yelping. If she was having such a difficult time, I should have received a phone call to pick him up. I will never return and do not recommend this place. read more

My first time here. My dog had a split nail that was bothering him. Julie was amazing and it's obvious she cares about all of the dogs she works with. I have 2 senior dogs who have not been groomed for a while due to COVID and our groomer of 9 years had serious health problems. I called many places with no answer or call back, to finally resort to online appointment with Petco in Turlock. Huge mistake!!! Went to appointment after a 2 month wait for them to tell me sorry they are a corporation and because of their age and my oldest is nippy they can't groom them. Called my daughters groomer at Two Paws Up and spoke with Julie who was extremely understanding and assured me she has no problem with senior dogs and when I bring them in to just reiterate what each one needs. She did explain she will do the best she can and will not push them farther than their comfort zone. She did an amazing job with them. She had her work cut out for her due to their age, blindness and needs. She went above and beyond with them. I will definitely be back with my two boys. read more

My experience started out great, over the phone. I got in next day and was happy as my dog needed a bath and shave. When i dropped him off the facility smell of dog and dog pee, there was hair on the ground in the lobby and it looked like it hadnt been swept in days, i dropped my dog off at 9am. Against my gut feeling i left my dog there anyways. When my husband picked up our dog he was still shedding and did not smell like he got a bath. I called back to ask if they had given him a bath as i had paid for one. They lady said she needed to check, She came back on and said that the groomer said he had given him a bath after his shave. I informed her my dog was still shedding she said that my husband could bring the dog back to be blown off again. I declined the offer. The lady said she wasnt sure what to say, and then asked if it was my dogs hair or another dogs hair. I then told her that if it another dogs hair i was going to have a bigger issue. She said he could have picked it up walking through the lobby. When my dog got home he was so thirsty and he did not pee, the leads me to believe my dog was not offered water. He still smells the same as when i dropped him off and his shave is very uneven. As i told the lady on the phone i will not be back. I tried to go with a cheap and easy to get into groomer, my mistake. read more

I have been taking both of my poodles, one standard and one miniature to Two Paws Up for several years. I have never been disappointed. They will always allow me to bring my boys in, even at the last minute. I usually deal with Julie or Maria (the best groomer ever!) The best part is that they truly care about my dogs. My standard suffers from occasional seizures and had just been groomed, later that evening he had a seizure and unfortunately soiled himself :( They allowed me to bring him back the next day and cleaned him up for free. I had gone to several groomers before I found Two Paws Up and by far this has been the best experience. read more

I hate to write negative reviews but this place is filthy and dirty. My dog came back flea infested and his skin is tore up from the bites of fleas and has caught an infection from it. They do a great job at grooming, but not at the cost of my dog suffering from the fleas. Only way I would ever bring my dog back is if they clean up the place and keep it sanitary. read more

This is my second review on this place. The first one magically disappeared. In October 2012, I took my two dogs in for a groom. Within a couple weeks, I noticed cough and breathing issues. Took them to the vet, BOTH dogs were infected with kennel cough. I called the place and told them and the owner explained that I was the 8th phone call that morning. My small dog recovered, but my older dog did not. I took her back to the vet for a second round of meds in January 2013, and those did not work. I told the owner again that she did a second round. She still charge me for both dogs grooming. Then in March 2013, my older dog still had the coughing a mucus, I took her back to the vet for the 3rd time and they did a chest x-ray. It showed scarring on her lungs for the damage of the kennel cough. She will have chronic bronchitis for the rest of her life. The coughing and mucus coming up will be forever. I sent the place a letter asking for reimbursement of the vet bills and 4 grooming visits. I was ignored. I filed a complaint with the BBB in April 2013, that was ignored also. I also found out that this business does NOT have a business license. Please be aware. This is the truth and nothing in this statement is a lie. read more

Appreciative! My wheaten is a sweet girl and needed a cut and her nails were soo long. The groomer knew Wheaton's and they fit me right in the next day. Thank god a place that actually grooms and doesn't do the lazy shave. Unlike other places (snobby next to Raley's on Floyd) who promise to not shave your dog and they keep your dog all day and then shave her anyway. My dog seemed happy and she looks soo beautiful. They did an amazing job! This was our 3rd time and we will be back! read more

If I could give a negative rating I would. I live close by, and have 3 large hairy dogs. I took them there to get a bath and clipped down for summer. The place is a dump, but i figured that might be normal for a grooming salon. My dogs didn't get any water or taken out to pee in 12 hours. I dropped them off at 7 in the am and picked them up at 7pm. The RAN to the yard to pee and drank for 5 minutes! I don't think they were even bathed, because they still smelled doggy! No nail clip that I paid for! I paid 150 for this crappy service. The last straw was when they all got kennel cough from that disease laden rat's nest. Vet bill 250. We have been taking our pets here for sometime. This is the most filthy, discusting, unprofessional, smelling grooming place I have ever seen. Our lasr visit we took our terrior and shitzu. When we picked them up they stunk, nails weren't cut and their faes were filthy. My husband asked them to trim their faces. When we got home they drank a whole bowl of water. After a week our Shitzu had this horrible cough we took her to the vet only to find out she had kennel cough. She was placed on medication and has never been the same.The employees don't appear to be clean themselves. They look like a bunch of tweekers. I feel that the health department needs to do an investigation and possibly shut this business down. We love our pets as if they were are children and to see them treated this way is totally unacceptable. Anyone else that has experienced similar problems with this place needs to file a complaint, because until something gets done they will continue to run a business with many issues and not do nothing to improve the bad business they run. The owner is 100 o/o resposibles for her shop, employees and discusting filth. I will move forward with my complaint and hope that there is not other pets that have to suffer for their lousy services as my little one has had too. Only we consumers can make sure that everything possible gets done to prevent them from running an unhealthy business with unprofessional employees. read more

Taken my Nakita to other places, she only took to Two Paws Up, which was under another name when we first started. I recently lost Nakita after 16 years. Two Paws Up was her second home. She never had to be leashed or carried in, she walked in by herself. They knew exacly how I liked her groomed and were always so caring and loving towards Nakita. I will miss bringing my Nakita here and if I ever decide to get another dog...this is the only place I will get him/her groomed. Thank you Julie! read more

I was suppose to pay $36 for my dog but I ended Paying $50! The job was not well done all they did was shave my dogs hair completly. There was no haircut. I wouln't recomend this place to anyone. This little facility suffered a great loss this year with the death of one of their two main groomers, but they have bounced back. We have been bringing our little problem pomeranian there for 3 years and have ALWAYS been satisfied. He comes back trimmed and clean and happy. I would recommend two paws up to anyone looking for a down to earth groomer. read more

NO NO NO! This place is absolutely disgusting. We took our 7 and 3yr old labs there, for a shampoo and brush. When we picked them up they stunk, they were both dying of thirst. Then a week to the day later my oldest one developed kennel cough and has become extremely lethargic. And few days after that started he has gotten a silver dollar size hot spot his neck that is extremely infected. As far as the presentation of this place, it's just dirty. The drywall all around the floor in the grooming area is all water logged and moldy. (Which we didn't really notice until we picked them up cause we were nosey and looked behind the wall into the grooming area) When we walked in to pick them up it wreaked of urine so bad it was hard to breath. This place can, in no way be up to city code. Comparing our experience with other reviews on here says there definitely needs to be something done about this place. read more
