    Potato corndog
    Andrea C.

First time here and boy was it intimidating! The young man answered our questions and I decided to play it safe and got a basic corndog. Hubby got the potato corndog with a sausage. My corndog was good but it was just a corndog. I will try the potato one next time with a hot dog in it.

American Classic Dog, plain corn dog, and Potato Dog. Tried beef, half and half, and whole mozzarella.

Food was fun and novel. My kids have wanted to try this place for a while just from seeing the neon corn dog lights from the outside. Yummy but definitely heavy and fried (as to be expected). We liked the Taro Bubble Tea too. Service was a tad slow, but there was only one person working, so I can't blame them. Place is dirty, that is my real complaint... bathroom needed a thourough cleaning and wasn't kid-friendly (no changing table).

Great spot for korean corndogs! the variety packs are always fun and gives your the opportunity to try different flavors and find what you like! After a few bites i got sick of the cheese filling and will opt for the hot dog inside instead.

I love Korean Corn Dogs so I wanted to try this new location to compare to others in the area. When we walked in, we weren't greeted. It wasn't too busy but there were a couple tables of 2 seated and a couple people waiting on orders. The restaurant is fast casual, small, and pretty basic. There was a sign for cash vs credit paying customers so we stepped over to the credit side and started an order on the screen. We ordered the Two Hands, the Potato, and the Classic. We also got a side of Tator Tots, a Pineapple Slushie, and an iced tea. You can customize your dogs with different bases - 2 different cheeses, a couple of sausage types, and a meatless option. You can also remove your toppings or have them added on the side for dipping. I really liked having choices. The Two Hands was half mozzarella and half sausage. The toppings included ranch and signature dressing. We got those on the side. It was good - crunchy outside with a nice cheese pull. The Potato was my fave (we got full mozzarella inside this one) with crunchy French fry bits on the outside. We got the sauce on the side but I preferred it plain. The cheese pull was amazing! We chose the sausage (tasted like a hot dog) on the inside of The Classic with mustard drizzled on it. We didn't get the ketchup that was included (blasphemy!) This was very good and was just like a carnival corn dog. The Pineapple Slushie was extremely good - a strong pineapple taste. I highly recommend! They do offer a couple of combo options but the included dogs are specific so we did our order a La carte. I really liked their simple menu but with customizable options. They offer boba tea as well - I plan to get that next time.

This place was super disappointing. I've tried Korean corn dogs elsewhere and this place misses the mark. They have you order on the kiosk. I don't understand why they don't have any customizable options. They also need more sauce choices. I tried a potato dog and classic dog. The potato tasted stale and gross. The classic was ok but I wish they put toppings all throughout the dog and not just on the one side. Again, it would of been a lot better if we could customize and switch out toppings as I wanted the potato dog without the hot cheeto powder. The prices are fair.

I'm new to Korean corn dogs.... Are they all sausages and not hot dogs? I really wanted a hotdog to be an option. Nonetheless, I wasn't disappointed with the cheese options. It was like a giant cheese stick dressed as a corn dog. I loved everything about it. That dirty sauce!!! I wish they would have filled that side cup up! I wanted more. My only regret was that I played it safe & ordered the American Classic. My daughter ordered the spicy with 1/2 cheddar 1/2 mozzarella. She enjoyed that as well. Don't be like me and stand around waiting for someone to take your order. Get with the times and go to the digital kiosk to place your order. I will definitely go back and try something new.

5 small two top tables. Mostly a carry out spot. Ordered and paid at the counter. They will call out your number when ready. It's a busy place, didn't realize there was so much traffic for Korean hotdogs. We decided to order the Mega set: Two hands with beef sausage, spicy with beef sausage, potato with whole mozzarella, classic with plant based dog, crispy with plant based, kimchi seasoned fries, dirty fries, elote and a water. Decided to try their corral menu options. Cost is $41.29. The corn dogs are heavily corn dog breaded here, maybe a bit too heavy for us both. There is also a lot of gap between the corn meal breading and the dog inside. The spicy hotdog with the spicy dog was the better of the 5 sample mega set. None is the others did much for us. The potato was thick and big and the hardest to eat. The kimchi seasoned fries were so-so, soft and wilted fried. The dirty tator tot fries were just okay. The elote was way overcooked and the corn kernels were small and deflated. The plant based dog was rather odd in texture and flavor. Honestly the dogs looked better then they tasted for us both. The corn dogs at a fair are better to me. Lots of interesting options, but their execution was lack luster for me.

On trend, this cutesy corndog eatery is fun and satisfying for an occasional treat. I love a corndog and was excited to try Two Hands. I ordered two different dogs to sample and a drink to go. Inside, there are five or so tables with two chairs each for noshing there. You may order on a tablet or with the helpful cashier, and wait for your number to be called. There are a handful of choices as to what you'll have inside of your "corndog," including mozzarella cheese, sausage, or a beef hotdog, among a few other choices. I had the Classic Dog, which is probably the most basic choice. It's a regular corndog (beef) with a drizzle of ketchup and mustard, then sprinkled with sugar for some reason. I thought this dog was just ok. I didn't care for the sugar. It took away from the savoriness of the hotdog. Also, the batter seemed rather bland. I also ordered the Potato Dog, which is very interesting. It has tiny cubes of potatoes on top of the corndog batter. It comes with a crushed hot cheeto topping, which is popular, I've recently seen it on all kinds of food. I had this one with half mozzarella cheese/half sausage. Interestingly, I rather liked this one. The crispy potato topping was just like having French fries, and I wasn't turned off by the hot cheetos. The mozz was good with the corndog batter, tasted like a zhuzhed up cheese stick. Essentially, this served as several treats in one "corndog." I would order this one again. The horchata slushie was the winner, though. It was yummy. There are a few other treats on the small menu.

I've been intrigued by this place ever since I first saw it on Yelp a couple months ago. I went on a Friday, a little bit after 1:00 and there was no wait at all. It only took about 10 minutes to get my order. I got an Original corn dog with sausage and cheese, and a crispy one with mozzarella and cheddar. I thought ALL the corn dogs had, well, DOGS in the middle. But they don't. Apparently, there's only meat when you specify that that's what you want. Otherwise, what you're getting is cheese (or whatever) in whichever coating you choose and sauce on the outside. It wasn't bad, but I'm not sure what to make of it; it's really reminiscent of carnival food, with no nutritional value but an interesting concept nonetheless.

Came on a Saturday two weeks after opening and it was over an hour wait. But let me tell you it was worth it! We did four dogs with a variety of hotdog and cheese combinations. I will say there is very little pricing shown. The only pricing I saw was for a combo offer or deals. Our four dogs ended up being $23. If you have never had a Korean hot dog you need to reserve time to go ahead and get one. I've had some out west and in comparison I think these were better, but they were a lot smaller. I could eat two of them and be pretty full with one still leaving me wanting more. I think there could be a better system for taking orders as well, its weird to me that they need an hour between 3 & 4 to shut down and prep again. Almost need more employees or something. I will come again even if it is a pain to wait!

I wanted to like this place; corn dogs are my favorite fair food. The staff was slow, extra slow. It was busy yet they sent two employees on break. The tables and floor were filthy. On to the food. We tried an assortment. Somehow they weren't hot. The cheese wasn't melted it was like chewing a string cheese wrapped in crunch. I didn't care for the sweet sauce they squirted on the dog and they were soooooooo messy; hot Cheetos dust everywhere. Although the spicy dog was slightly spicy, there was little to no flavor. Maybe I caught them on an off day.

This place is exactly what i needed it to be. Even though i didn't fully like the potato dog and the sauce it came with (dirty sauce) i just know it wasn't my cup of tea and i need to try the whole menu. the vegan sausage in the potato dog was just not my cup of tea but the mozzarella filling two hands dog was amazing. i can't wait to come back and try the chicken sausage one (i can't do beef). There was a kiosk for me to order from so i didn't have to talk to anyone but i did ask them questions. They also have boba tea. They made them fresh right there in front of us. I recommend trying it all before giving a bad review:)

    Crispy Rice Corndog Spicy Dog
    Luke M.

Pleasantly surprised by this place. Never heard of Korean corn dogs before. This spot is pretty damn good. We got the Crispy rice dog filled with a spicy hotdog - zingy, nice crunch, and a well-balanced savory-sweet combo. We also got it with a normal beef hotdog inside too, which is good if you can't handle the heat. The spicy dog with a normal hotdog is a fiery experience; this was a well balanced heat/flavor experience. The Taro Boba here is a letdown - undercooked balls, and the taro mix tastes artificial. Stick to the corn dogs; it's not the go-to spot for boba, but overall, a satisfying experience. Service was friendly, just wish there were more places to sit! Good food. Good prices. Looking forward to trying the other flavor corndogs!

Comfort food; I'd say it's yummy. I prefer a carry out though. I don't like eating in the restaurant.

The sandwich originated in Chicago, so I like that Matt & Mo's has a replica of Wrigley Field's ivy wall. On the flip side, I didn't like being charged a 4% fee for paying with a card. My wife ordered a pepperoni pizza puff along with French fries. The pizza puff fell apart too easily, and was basically a larger version of a Totino's pizza roll. The fries were standard. With my sandwich, I ordered poutine. The consistency and flavor of the gravy made the poutine much better than average. As for the Italian beef, it did not disappoint. I regret getting just sweet peppers, as I should have gotten either hot or mild peppers with the sweet. I did get the whole sandwich dipped in au jus, which was the right move. This was my first time having an Italian beef, so it's hard to judge, but I definitely enjoyed it. Next time, I will bring cash to pay, and might even try some of the other menu items. I look forward to trying Doug's Delight, as well.

Everything meshed together perfectly.

I've tried this place three different times and ALL three times I had an issue. It was a waste of my gas to drive to Sidecar in Birmingham to eat and everything was a disaster from the moment I was seated. I have passed by Sidecar in Birmingham so many times, and strolled past it more occasions than I can count. I have always avoided the place because there is always someone inside of it who is racist and anything but professional. This corniest thing about management here is that it seems to train workers to only like it when whites sit at their eatery. Be sure to hold onto to a copy of your receipt if you wish to be refunded for the unpleasant blah-slop they will serve you. The food here looked like someone sat on it when I bought it, and it was flavorless from started to finish. Honestly, I was skeptical about coming here based on reviews and I wish I had listened to the complaints. One waitress was apologetic to me when I came back to complain, so sad for her because she was not the owner of this dump who has the personality of a headless turkey. The food is worth only one star, but I would give it zero if I could. I'd recommend just going to Applebee's instead of Sidecar and maybe the place that Sidecar is holding can be repurposed into some type of mixed-use community hub to breathe new life into Birmingham once it gets shut down. - Oakley
