Ziti with meat sauce and meatballs. For a little bit more I added Sausage. Delish and filling!

Love this place!!! The couple that owns and runs it is so sweet. Check em out!!! A staple of Arlington. Right on the corner of Wilson and George Mason.

Nice place to have pizza and many other food items. The owners are very nice as well. I just wish there were more drink options, maybe more natural soda options. Other than that, this is a good place overall.

I grew up going to this place and then hadn't been back in at least 10 years. It's good to know some things never change, and they really didn't! I remember this was a place my family and I frequented because their greek food was authentic and priced well. I now live nearby again so I wanted to see how it was doing and if it was a place I should frequent again. Started off with the spanakopita app, which was crispy, deliciously warm and fulfilling. Thumbs up. I had the veal parmesan while other members of my party had the gyro sandwich and a steak and cheese sub. My veal parm was good but not great, which I was a little disappointed in. It just lacked some flavor I was looking for. The gyro sandwich looked hearty and full, a steal for $8. The meat itself looked juicy instead of dried out. The steak and cheese was ok, not good and not bad. Service was a bit slow for the restaurant having just a few other tables of patrons.

Greek Style Stuffed Peppers and Tomatoes. Delicious.

Food is homemade and tasty. An involved mom and pop restaurant that has great Greek and Italian specialities.

Thin, foldable, chewy crust. It was okay. I liked the sauce. The Avgelomono soup was nice and comforting. We'd order here again.

I usually order saganaki, but saw Feta Psiti ($19) and had to try it. It's described as "baked feta wrapped in puff pastry, finished with a sprinkle of sesame & a drizzle of honey." It was absolutely delicious and could absolutely be a not-too-sweet dessert. Then I had the Paidakia appetizer ($29) - 2 lamb chops cooked perfectly with lemony Greek potatoes and asparagus. Yum. It was the perfect amount of fantastic food, topped off with a spoonful of my friend's rice pudding (Rizógalo) which was hearty and cinnamony. Wishing I was there eating this meal again...

My first visit to Our Mom Eugenia was full of mixed feelings. Not sure if I'd return or not. It…read morebegan with my reservation. I requested Booth Seating in my reservation, that I made well in advance. When I arrived, I was not given booth seating and was told that it was full. I just didn't appreciate requesting something in advance as a part of my reservation, which they could have held, and getting there only to be given something different than what I reserved. I know that there's no guarantee on "requests" but I don't see any reason why a booth couldn't be held, if its a part of a reservation that was given in advance. Now, moving on to the food. I ordered two appetizers, as I was not super hungry that night. The first app I tried was their Feta Karpouzi, which is cubes of Sesame-crusted baked Feta, and Watermelon, drizzled with honey and served on a bed of Arugula. The Watermelon was fresh and juicy, I must say. I loved the cubes of Feta as well...baking it really bought out the saltiness and the slight crunch from the Sesame was a nice touch. I, personally, would hold the Honey. It was a bit much, I feel, for this dish. Or maybe they put a tad bit too much on my order. Overall, I'd give that menu item an 8 out of 10. Now, when it comes to the second app I tried, I did not enjoy it or take photos (not photo worthy either). The second app was their Keftedakia (Greek Meatballs). It was very dry, bland...not very flavorful. I'd give them a 5 out of 10. It wasn't nasty but it wasn't good either. Overall, I'd give my experience at Our Mom Eugenia Shirlington a 6 out of 10. Not sure if I want to come back or not, just yet. I'd probably try their other location in Mosaic, for comparison sake, and order an actual entree this time, if I'm hungry.

SIX STARS IF YELP WOULD LET ME! AN ABSOLUTE NORTHERN VIRGINIA GEM!…read more My family and I have been loyal Plaka Grill customers for nearly 19 years, dating back to the opening of the original Vienna location. Over time, it has become much more than a restaurant to us--it feels like a second home. We have gotten to know the wonderful family behind it: Peter, George, Tony, and Kathy. Their warmth, friendliness, and genuine hospitality make every visit special. They take time to talk with customers and make people feel welcome, never as part of a scripted routine, but as family. George has been a familiar face since the beginning, and it is remarkable to see that same warmth nearly two decades later. Even more impressive, some employees have been with Plaka since day one. In an industry known for turnover, that says a great deal about the respect, loyalty, and working environment the owners have created. We have also been frequenting the Falls Church location for years, and the consistency between both restaurants is outstanding: friendly service, cleanliness, generous portions, and excellent food. Now, the food! I have traveled to Greece and eaten at Greek restaurants throughout the United States and Greece. Yet I have never found a gyro that comes close to the Plaka gyro--not even in Greece. The meat is juicy, perfectly seasoned, flavorful, and genuinely craveable. The combination of meat, pita, toppings, and seasoning is exceptional. And the hand-cut French fries are among the best I have ever had. They are crispy outside, tender inside, and perfectly seasoned. These are not generic frozen fries; the care and preparation are obvious. Fresh potatoes can vary, so they may occasionally be slightly softer or more cooked than usual, but after nearly 19 years, that is one of the only minor imperfections I can remember. The chicken platter is another standout. The chicken is tender, juicy, flavorful, and consistently satisfying. The zucchini fritters are delicious as well, showing how Plaka can elevate simple ingredients into memorable dishes. I have tried almost everything on the menu and have enjoyed nearly all of it. What impresses me most is the consistency. Anyone can serve a great meal once or twice; maintaining excellent food, generous portions, and friendly service year after year, across multiple locations, is a much greater accomplishment. You definitely get your money's worth here. Portions are substantial, and I often cannot finish everything. The food is not only plentiful but genuinely enjoyable, making the value clear. Cleanliness is another strength. The dining areas are organized and well-maintained, the bathrooms are consistently clean, and the staff take food handling seriously, including wearing gloves when preparing food. These details reflect a restaurant that cares about its operation and its customers. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, whether you are stopping in for a quick meal, dining with family, or enjoying a relaxed dinner. But what I appreciate most is the genuine hospitality. You cannot buy or manufacture a family atmosphere overnight. It comes from years of hard work, integrity, consistency, and caring about the people who walk through the door. I have introduced countless friends and family members to Plaka Grill and continue recommending it whenever someone asks where to find exceptional Greek food in Northern Virginia. I am very particular about restaurants and consider food quality, freshness, flavor, portions, cleanliness, service, consistency, and overall value. Plaka Grill has earned my highest praise. After nearly 19 years, it remains my absolute favorite restaurant in Northern Virginia. I have heard there may be a third location coming to Fair Lakes. If that is true, I could not be more excited. This is exactly the kind of family-owned business I want to see continue growing and succeeding. To Peter, George, Tony, Kathy, and the entire Plaka Grill team: thank you for nearly two decades of wonderful meals, genuine hospitality, generous portions, and unforgettable flavors. Thank you for treating employees with respect, customers like family, and for maintaining the standards that made Plaka special from the beginning. In a world where many businesses cut corners, reduce portions, raise prices, or sacrifice quality, Plaka Grill continues to value what matters: quality, consistency, generosity, hospitality, and family. If you have never been, try the gyro, hand-cut fries, chicken platter, and zucchini fritters. Bring your family or a friend and experience it for yourself. You will likely understand why so many customers return and recommend it. SIX STARS. WITHOUT HESITATION. ONE OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA'S FINEST FAMILY-OWNED RESTAURANTS! OPA!

I really enjoyed my meal! The preparation of the fish was perfect. The skin was crispy, lightly seasoned just like in Greece. It's the closest thing to Greek food I've had here, at least in regards to the dish. The lamb shank was alright aromas and flavor could've been a little stronger for the red sauce. I was also happy that none of the seafood had a fishy taste to it. They also deboned the branzino. The fish also had a lot of meat so I felt as though I got my moneys worth. As for the grilled octopus it was a little tough in the fatty areas, but overall the flavor and quality was great! The feta psiti was so so, I had it in Greece and it wasn't even close. The dough was a square and it wasn't flaky and delicious like I had. We ordered: Apps Grilled octopus 9/10 Feta Psiti 6/10 Imported Branzino 10/10 Lamb shank over orzo 8/10 Overall, I'd come back 100%. The service was great, fast, cleaned up the areas and dishes well, and informative.

Enjoyed a great meal with our party of 7 tonight , Saturday night!…read more We ordered a bunch of appetizers: halloumi, greek salad, zucchini, dips, saganaki, and entrees and desserts as well. Sorry I don't have photos of everything. The food, service and ambiance were all excellent. I loved the open and airy feel of the restaurant with the big windows and great sunlight. This is the 2nd location I have been to and so far this one is my favorite. Parking is a little wonky as the town gets pretty busy during prime dining hours. You can find street parking if you're patient. All in all, I wish I lived closer so I could enjoy this super-delicious and authentic, greek food all the time.
